Divorce and Engagement

“I juts Doing what I should have done a long time ago for the likes of you.” William's eyes filled with hatred.

Damien limped awake with the help of his wife. The man wiped the blood that came out of his mouth. "you are Human who don't know manners! You are good at using your hands without knowing any manners.” Agatha hissed in disdain looking at William as usual.

William smiled slyly. "Oh really? Is good manners for people like you teaching your son to insult elders and use harsh words that such a small child should not say. Oh, I'm so worried seeing his fate that is very night to have bad parents like you guys."

"Enough, William!" Mrs. Abraham stood up from her seat. She didn't like it when her beloved grandson was looked down upon. What's more, being insulted by a poor man like William. "I didn't invite you here to make a scene."

“Please remind me that you guys are always starting fights with me, grandma. You guys always start insulting me.”

"God damn it! You are ungrateful human.” Mrs Abraham wanted to slap William but Camille quickly held her grandmother's hand.

"Grandma, please hold your anger first." Camille calmed her grandmother. Camille put her lips close to Mrs. Abraham's ear. “Isn't the reason we invited him tonight so that he would be willing to divorce me? I'm afraid he'll back off if we provoke him.”

Mrs. Abraham cleared her throat a little at the words of her grandson. "You're right, honey." Mrs. Abraham looked again at William. "Tonight I forgive what you did. Next time, I'll make sure you won't be able to leave my house intact if you dare to be so impudent again.”

William smiled a little. “I also want to promise you the same thing, grandma. I will make sure no one in this family can leave in one piece if he ever causes me any more trouble.”

Mrs. Abraham exhaled. “Send that bitch over to meet us immediately.” Mrs. Abraham said to one of her daughters-in-law.

"let me fetch the damn thing, grandma." Camille asked permission. Mrs. Abraham nodded her head. She also had Damien wipe the blood running down his face first.

"Mommy!" Zeva ran into her mother's lap which made Daphne immediately look worried at her daughter.

"What's wrong, baby. Did Sam bully you again?”

Zeva shook her head then nodded her head which made her mom and grandma frown. "I mean, I was bullied by Sam but there was a good uncle who helped me. He stood up for me and promised to protect me starting today.”

"Good uncle?" Zeva frowned. She knew well that there was nothing good in that house.

Zeva nodded her head. “He was tall and well built but he was very friendly. He also confessed that he knew my father.” Daphne's and her mother's brows furrowed at Zeva's words.

"Then where is that man now, Zeva?"

“With uncle Damien and the others. He is teaching them some lessons.”

“Oh, who dares to go against Damien and Mrs Abraham in this house?” Daphne's mother subconsciously hissed.

"I really hope he's a good person."

During their talk, Camille came over with a haughty face. “Hey, how long do you have to dress up? Come on, meet your future husband."

Daphne gulped down her saliva. "Has he come yet?"

"Yeah and make a little noise." Camille gave a disgusted expression. Daphne stood she looked at her mother and Zeva alternately forcing her smile that she was okay. while Zeva who doesn't know anything can only watch her mother who is very beautiful tonight with a smile. In five years of meeting her mother, it was the first time she'd seen Daphne dress up. Daphne really is very beautiful. Her makeup wasn't even as fancy as Camille's, she was just a bit polished but her charm overpowered Camille's.

“Hurry up Daphne! Or do you want me to tell grandma to cancel your father's medication!” Camille urged Daphne to get out. The woman couldn't argue anymore. she followed Camille from behind to the hall where there was a large family and several important guests who were deliberately invited by Mrs. Abraham tonight to witness Camille and Brandon's engagement. After today, there would no longer be anyone in Akhonto who sneered at Camille for having a poor husband. They are officially divorced soon.

Camille entered the hall with great confidence while behind her Daphne lowered her head. It was her first time appearing in public after the trouble that befell her six years ago. She was so scared. She Afraid of humiliating herself.

“Damn it! Be kind!” Camille growled a little dragging Daphne a little rough standing next to her.

Gosh! William, who had been consumed with his anger towards Damien and Sam, was thumping when he saw the woman standing beside his wife. The two men were now side by side and William was increasingly able to tell the difference between the two. William was transfixed. Daphne hypnotized him with her simple look. The woman was born beautiful naturally.

Not only was William fascinated by Daphne's beauty but several other men in the room. deep inside they admit that Daphne is prettier than Camille even though Daphne has already been pregnant and given birth. Even Daphne didn't need fancy stuff to beat Camille's beauty.

“William, I brought you a more suitable woman for you. That woman is comparable to you who are poor. She's a bit of a bitch but who knows her talent could help you get a job. How? Do you want to divorce me this time?”

William stared at Camille for a few moments. Apart from their different eye colors, there is something else that sets Camille and Daphne apart. Daphne has a beauty spot on her neck while Camille doesn't. He remembered the night he slept with a woman six years ago, he saw that sign when he kissed her neck. William didn't realize Camille had not had him all along because Camille had never let him near his wife during their marriage.

“Camille, are you sure about your request? Won't you regret it?" William asked one last time.

Camille snorted a little with a sneer on her face. "I am very confident. I will never regret it. I am very happy because I got better than you.” Camille held Brandon in front of many people as well as in front of her own husband without embarrassment.

William nodded his head. "Okay! I am willing to divorce you tonight and comply with your request."

Camille smiled happily. She immediately took out the files they needed for their divorce. William signed it and so did Camille. William married Daphne that same night in a very simple way.

"Very good! Now you two may go." As anyone could have guessed, Camille immediately kicked Daphne and William out as soon as her business was over with them. It didn't take William much to take Daphne with him. Until now they have not spoken a word apart from the promise of marriage.

"Now we move on to a more important event. The highlight of the evening is Camille and Brandon's engagement." Abraham's family continued the event with great fanfare after they managed to get rid of the pest according to them. Camille is not shy. She was recently divorced but engaged. No one dared insult her since she was already in the ranks of the upper classes at this point. Camille enjoyed it all.

"Honey, I want you to be with me forever as soon as possible," Brandon said as he placed the ring on Camille's ring finger. Don't forget the expensive diamond specially made for Camille's engagement. While William and Daphne's marriage was inversely proportional. William and Daphne only had cheap rings which meant they were husband and wife.

Camille covered her mouth feeling moved by Brandon's words. She was speechless to express her happiness. They kissed for a few moments which earned applause from the guests present. Brandon and Camille stopped their activities with a small smile. The two people are now hand in hand not wanting to let go.

Mrs. Abraham also smiled happily. She stood up from her chair. "Today I want to give you a small present, my granddaughter." Mrs. Abraham took out a file that had been in her hand. "I would like to promote you as marketing director."

"Grandma, how can you be like that? I'm currently in that position. how could you give it to Camille without discussing it with me first.” Damien protests when his female cousin takes his hard work.

“Damien, I gave it to Camille because of her excellent performance with the company. You don't need to be angry, son. I'll give you the position of branch director. As one of my future heirs, you have a lot to learn.”

"Nonsense!" Damien left the room with an angry face.

Agatha ran out of the room to persuade her husband. “Damien, control your anger.”

“Should I just shut up? Honey, Camille conspired to get rid of me. she must have persuaded grandma.”

Agatha stroked Damien's hand. “Damien, Camille did win today but maybe not tomorrow. Have you forgotten that my father holds a few percent of your grandmother's company? You've always been your grandmother's favorite grandson, dear. Don't let your image be bad in her eyes. You have to show yourself wise. Not only for grandma but for the rest of the board of directors that you deserve to lead the company someday."

"You're smart, honey!"

Agatha smiled a little. "Isn't that why you married me?" Damien walked back into the house. He walked over to Camille then held out his hand to his female cousin. “I apologize for my momentary anger. Congratulations on your new position. You deserve to be in that position.”

Camille smiled a little. "Thank You. I felt guilty when you were angry at grandma.”

Damien shook his head. "I'm just shocked." They shook hands but inside each other, they intended to knock each other out. Abraham's family does look compact in public but inside it is full of feelings of thirst with ambition and greed with wealth and position. They compete to be the best.
