True Appraisal Skills

"Are you the one to teach me or the young lady?" Irving said calmly. Now that he had a treasure appraisal skills, he was absolutely not afraid of anyone making moves against him when it comes to antiques assessments. "I'll be glad to take on either of you."

When everyone heard what Irving said, they started talking again.

"This kid must have been emboldened by his ambition."

"This is the eldest daughter of the Griffiths family. She's at the top of the appraisal ladder."

"The Griffiths family is a famous family."

"He dares to scold and challenge Miss Gwendolyn  in front of so many people. I think he is hopeless."

The eyes of the people around him were filled with mockery and pity.

"Say it again if you dare!" Gwendolyn frowned, her tone full of arrogance and dissatisfaction.

"If it's a challenge you want, then I'm up for it." Irving said lightly.

"Do you think you're the only one with appraisal skills? I think you are just lucky." Gwendolyn mocked.

Irving frowned. "Do you think I'm lucky?"

He now disliked the eldest daughter of The Griffiths family. He originally didn't want to argue with her because she was so beautiful, but this girl turned out to be so rude, which really made the only good impression of her disappear.

"Young lady, if you're not convinced, let's compare our skills and see if it's luck or not."

The two were tit for tat, and the crowd was buzzing.

"This young man is so arrogant that he started arguing with the eldest lady of Griffiths Group of Companies."

"I heard that Gwendolyn is the true  treasure appraising successor to Zayne Coppell."

"Zayne Coppell is a master-level figure in the world of treasure appraisal."

"This kid is really done for."

"I don't think this is necessarily the case, let's take our time and see!"

Gwendolyn bit her lip, still feeling a little frightened as she listened to the comments from the people around her. After all, treasure appraisal relied on experience and had little to do with whether you have treasure appraisal skills.

"Miss, do you want to back out now? I won't hold it against you." Irving asked with a smile.

"You brat, why should our lady listen to you?" Before Gwendolyn could answer, the old man standing behind him couldn't help but come out and said.

Irving just glanced at the old man lightly, and then continued to look at Gwendolyn, his eyes full of sparks.

"Im in, but if you lose, this vase must belong to me." Gwendolyn took a deep breath and said solemnly.

Irving smiled: "That's so generous of you. But if you lose, you must apologize to me."

"Okay, I promise you."

Irving took out a vase from his pack and placed it in front of him. Gwendolyn also brought out ten, one thousand notes, and placed them on the table.

This was the game of open lottery.

When the people around saw this scene, they closed their mouths and watched quietly.

"Come on, Miss Gwendolyn, first tell me what kind of vase this is, which country and era it is from, and what the current market price is." Irving said slowly, observing Gwendolyn's actions.

Gwendolyn looked at it carefully, took a deep breath and said: "This vase has a lotus mouth and a circle around the bottom. The color is old and muddy, but it is not difficult to tell that it is a genuine Yellow Marigold vase. Judging from its appearance, I would say it must have been produced by the Catos in the late Roman era. Due to the low level of glazing, it is understandable that the craftsmanship is rough as it is."

Irving smiled lightly: "No need to explain so much, can you just tell me your answer?"

"This vase is the Yellow Marigold ceremonial amphora by the Catos in the late Roman era. The market value is five thousand dollar." Gwendolyn said softly, but there was no tone in her eyes, and she was generally firm.

As soon as Gwendolyn finished speaking, the crowd started to become noisy.

"This girl's skills are truly magnificent, and her views are very authentic."

"Yes, they're comparable to that of old Zachary's."

"Old Zachary's? Stop talking nonsense here."

"Maybe not but they are very impressive."

"Hahaha…"

"Hehehe..."

The crowd burst into laughter, but they all agreed with Gwendolyn's point of view.

When Gwendolyn heard the comments from the people around her, her eyes were full of pride.

"This is my assessment. Now it's up to you, but don't just repeat my exact words." Gwendolyn said proudly.

"As expected of you, Miss Gwendolyn. You really know your stuff." Irving smiled faintly. "But, wouldn't it be too one-sided for you to judge that it is a Yellow Marigold vase from the late Roman era based on its appearance alone?"

"What do you mean?"

"This kind of vase with a lotus mouth is a classic of the early Roman era at a close observation. Moreover, the glaze color is rich and changeable, from green to blue, with a natural color gradient. This is obviously the blue glaze. Moreover, the workmanship is exquisite and the whole thing is integrated. If it were made by the Catos in the late Roman era, it would never be able to achieve this level of craftsmanship." Irving finished speaking calmly, looking extremely calm.

"Don't bullshit me here. The color of this glaze is obviously so turbid, but you told me that it is blue glaze. Its shape and thickness are clearly from the late Roman era." Gwendolyn retorted loudly.

"You do not believe me?" Irving smiled and stretched out his hand in front of Gwendolyn: "Here, lend me the hairpin on your head."

Gwendolyn frowned, but before she could refuse, Irving swiftly took off her hairpin.

"Forgive my rudeness, but this is the important part."

"You brat, how dare you be rude to our eldest lady!" The old man frowned and yelled loudly. Just as he was about to call on the secret guard to take action, he saw Irving knocking on the wall of the vase.

After a while, a piece of glaze fell off from the night, revealing a sky-blue color.

When the old man saw this scene, he was completely shocked. Gwendolyn also froze on the spot, her beautiful eyes full of shock.

"This vase does look thicker than ordinary kiln wares. It is because it has been glazed at a low temperature twice to give it its current appearance." Irving said calmly. "I think someone deliberately disguised it as a yellow Marigold vase from the late Roman era. Look at how pure the blue glaze is, how exquisite the workmanship is, and how full of charm it is. It is clearly a flower-mouthed rosette vase from the early Roman era Miss Gwendolyn, old gentleman, do you think I'm right?"

The old man swallowed his saliva and looked very embarrassed. He wanted to refute, but what Irving said did make sense. What's more, the facts were right in front of him. It was impossible to tell lies with his eyes open.

Gwendolyn's face was full of surprise, and she looked at the old man behind her, her eyes were asking for insights.

"Gwen, this vase is indeed from the early Roman era. It's not just you, I didn't notice it too." the old man said calmly.

This old man was Gwendolyn's uncle Quentin Griffiths. He was an old man who had been in the antique market for many years. He was basically infallible, but he made a mistake today.

As soon as these words came out, the crowd immediately exploded. Everyone knew that old man Quentin was a good expert at identifying genuine products. But even he could be fooled.

"This young man could actually identify the authenticity of the vase."

"This is really unbelievable."
