Chapter 11
Author: Oldwell
”Hold up!” Bald Richard called out, then carefully eyed Remus again.

People usually cowered at the sound of his name, so this young man really stood out. Bald Richard suspected that he was hiding something. Heck, he even dared to call the Dragon Head by name.

“You know the Dragon Head?” Bald Richard asked tentatively.

“Ask him that yourself,” Remus retorted.

Everyone realized how much of a big shot he was. No wonder he didn’t keep quiet or grovel before Bald Richard. Even the guy that was going to beat Remus up started to fear for his own safety.

Kylie frowned. Did Remus really know the Dragon Head?

Just then, Bald Richard’s phone call went through. His demeanor immediately turned sheepish as he asked, “Dragon Head, sir, are you busy right now?”

“Get to the point!” Anthony snapped. He was angry because he had just been informed of Remus Cosby’s true identity. Apparently, he wasn’t a highly-respected person; he was just some guy who had scrubbed the Temple Lord’s toilet!

Yes, his Temple Lord had told him to treat Remus right, but Anthony felt like he had disgraced himself by becoming the guy’s personal driver. He had even put the airport on standby for him! As the Dragon Head, he couldn’t behave that way!

“Alright, sir.” Bald Richard nodded vigorously. “There’s a guy here called Remus Cosby. He says you know him. Do you, sir?”

Kylie’s heartbeat sped up as she waited for an answer. If Remus really did know the Dragon Head, business would go much easier for her.

“Who? Remus?” Anthony bristled the moment he heard that name. “I don’t know which shithole he’s from, so no. Why? Is he there with you?”

Bald Richard lowered his voice. “Ben Stuart from the Stuart family ordered me to cripple him.”

Anthony thought things through momentarily. He could just pretend he didn’t know what was going on. If anything, an apology to his Temple Lord would suffice. Remus was just some cheap lackey after all, so Anthony wouldn’t get in too much trouble.

“Do it then,” Anthony grunted before hanging up the call.

After receiving confirmation, Bald Richard immediately turned to Remus, his eyes glinting with murderous intent. “The Dragon Head has spoken, kid.”

His pause left everyone holding their breath.

“What did he say?” Kylie asked.

“He said…to finish you off!” Bald Richard growled. “I was going to let you off easy at first, kid, but not after that stunt you pulled! You’ll be leaving here in pieces!”

“What?” Kylie gasped. She hadn’t expected this to happen! She should’ve known better than to trust Remus!

Remus blinked in surprise. “Anthony told you to finish me off?”

“Get him!” Bald Richard ordered. “Make sure he’s begging for mercy by the time we’re done with him!”

Just like that, all the lackeys lunged at him with weapons in hand, aiming for his weak points. The onlooking crowd and guests instantly retreated to safety, save for Kylie, who remained frozen with fear.

Much to everyone’s shock, the men soon landed on their asses, yelping in pain. It didn’t look like they were any match for Remus, like those guards from yesterday.

Kylie gaped, wondering how Remus had defeated them so easily when she didn’t even see him raise his fist.

“Anthony Mark actually said that?” Remus asked again, still finding the situation incredulous. Anthony had gotten soaked in the rain yesterday just to serve him. What had changed?

“I see you know a thing or two as well. No wonder you weren’t scared. It’s a pity that you’re fighting me right now!” Bald Richard declared, then swung a fist at Remus.

He had earned his place as sect head with hardcore training and proving himself over the years. He had even won three streets for their sect with nothing but his fists years ago. He became famous for his iron-hard fists. Those unfortunate enough to experience them were either left crippled or dead.

A loud slap landed on Bald Richard’s face.

“When did I give you permission to hit me?” Remus asked.

Bald Richard gaped in shock, fist still raised. He had felt the man slap him on the cheek, yet he hadn’t seen him raise his hand even once.

Another smack rang out.

“C’mon, talk.”

“I…”

He delivered another slap! Bald Richard flew backward while Remus concluded, “Ugh, you talk too slow.”

Bald Richard was left hunched over, spitting out blood and a few teeth.

Remus turned to Kylie. “Bring me to Anthony Mark.”

He didn’t like dragging things out or making a fuss. His master had taught him to always solve the root of the problem, so that’s what he would do.

Draculus Court, Anthony Mark’s flagship business, was one of the most successful entertainment establishments in Neptuna. You needed to have spent at least a million dollars to qualify for the lowest membership tier.

In the Nihil Suite, men and women sat together in silence, creating an atmosphere that did not match the club. In their midst, Ben Stuart was tossing back glass after glass of wine, awaiting Bald Richard’s call.

He had suffered one of the most humiliating moments in his life today. He had become the laughingstock of the equestrian world.

The horse had even…

“Slow down with the drinks, Benny. You’re ruining your liver,” a woman next to him said.

She was immediately met with a hard slap to the face.

“You dare order me around? Do you know who I am and what I can do to you, you whore? Get the fuck out of my sight!” Ben roared, making the woman flinch and tremble in fear.

Just then, his father called.

“Dad?”

“I heard about what happened to you. Come home for now. We need to prepare for the meeting with Ms. Lotus tonight.”

Ben sighed. “Alright.”

He swiftly went downstairs, but before he could reach his car, a Maserati slowed to a stop outside the entrance. The man who stepped out from the vehicle made Ben’s eyes bug out of their sockets.

“Remus Cosby!”

Why were his legs still functioning?!

“Oh. Hey, jackass.” Remus didn’t bother wasting his breath before striding into the club.

Ben’s knuckles were stretched pale. “You asshole.” Yet he couldn't try to fight Remus. He’d experienced the aftermath of that before and didn’t want to go through it again.

Just then, he spotted Kylie Cox getting out of the car too. His demeanor changed instantly, and he walked up to her with a polite smile.

“Hello there, miss. Are you one of Mr. Cosby’s friends? My name’s Ben, Skylar Stuart’s son and MD of Sky Group. I’d love to get to know you better.”

This card up his sleeve had always worked in the past.

Kylie gazed at him in awe. “Pleasure to meet you, Mr. Stuart. I’m Kylie Cox from Cox Corp.”

It looked like it was going to work once again.

Remus made his way up to one of the higher-class suites, where two guards stood outside. If he guessed correctly, Anthony Mark should be right inside.

Just as he took another step, one guard said, “Stop right there. Name?”

“Remus Cosby.”

He frowned when the guard entered. “What’s the matter?”Anthony hated people walking around while he was singing. The guard bent down and whispered, “Mr. Mark, someone named Remus Cosby is looking for you.”Remus Cosby? Him again?Anthony’s expression changed as he thought, “Is this how Bald Richard takes care of things? I ordered him to cripple Remus, yet he’s at my door, looking for me?”“Tell him to leave. Tell him I’m not here!” Anthony said irritably. It would’ve all been fine if his subordinates had paralyzed Remus. However, if he did it and Remus reported it to the Temple Lord, it would attract unnecessary trouble.“Understood.” The guard turned and saw

Still, the sect leaders circled around him.“Dragon Head, how are you feeling?”“Take him to the back!”“Let’s fight for the Dragon Head. This must be a small group, and he guessed there would be more downstairs. However, no matter how many ordinary people there were, they meant nothing to Remus. He asked casually, “Single combat? Or a group fight?”Seeing Remus, everyone was shocked. Who was this guy? No one knew him, nor had they seen him. Everyone thought that a powerful fighter had returned. Instead, a young man appeared. So, there’s a chance Ms. Lotus will choose us. You need to get closer to Ms. Lotus so we can officially become business partners.”Just the thought of hooking up with Jean Lotus excited Ben. She was the daughter of Centurio. Then, Ben asked, “What about Miranda Bowen?”He had accompanied Miranda for almost a year and thought he could capture her heart with Adeptus Gale’s assistance. However, a man came out of the blue and messed everything up. Since he had put in so much effort, he felt unsure if he could get Miranda to sleep with him.Skylar smiled faintly. “It won’t be affected. I ordered Adeptus Gale to call his senior. They will drug Miranda. This time, we will not fail. When her sickness resurfaces, you can win her heart easily. Be careful with your relationship with her. If Elias finds out, we will be

Once Remus said that, everyone in the hall was shocked. But in the next second, laughter was heard. No one believed that a liar was worthy of Jean Lotus."You scoundrel. You must've heard me mentioning that Ms. Lotus would be at the Neptuna, so you've come here to commit fraud!" Brianne sneered."Sure enough, those who came from prison usually have something wrong with their heads." Elias shook his head. He had already sensed something unusual yesterday when Remus spoke back to him. How would a normal person dare disrespect him? Upon knowing the truth, Elias figured that Remus must have been beaten up when he was in prison.Miranda stood by the side, watching the scene indifferently. She looked innocent and stunning in her evening gown. Her looks were worthy of her title as the most attractive woman in Neptuna. "Mr. Bowen, this is your son-in-law? He doesn't seem the decent sort," Skylar teased.Elias quickly warned, "Mr. Stuart, please watch your tongue. We have no relation to h

Remus answered concisely. He knew that there were too many people, so he would privately talk about the marriage cancellation once the banquet was over. After Jean left, another wave of discussions blew up in the hall. Everyone was making guesses at Remus' identity and why he came with Ms. Lotus. Moreover, they were curious if he had really just come out of prison. Some gloated at Ben's embarrassment, laughing that he had flattered the wrong person! Of course, most people went to drink with Remus to make some connections."Mr. Cosby, I'm sorry." Mr. Lawson got up from the floor and apologized. He was in great regret. If he knew this would happen, he wouldn't have scolded Remus. They were worried that Jean would choose Remus since he came in with her. However, after hearing that the person she chose was excellent, wise, and outstanding, they knew it could not be Remus. He had just come out of prison and was a criminal with no relation to such terms! So, it meant that both of them still had a chance."Who is this person?" Jean teased further and looked toward Elias and Skylar with a smile. Her gaze filled them with exhilaration."It must be us. We'll be chosen!" Brianne couldn't help but mutter. Although they had just offended Ms. Lotus, the Stuarts' offense was more serious."This person is young…" Jean continued.Immediately, Ben was agitated, and the blood in his body seemed to stop flowing. He wanted to see how Jean would reply to Ben.Jean stared at Ben and slowly said, “Because you’re like the horse that others ride!”Immediately, there was a burst of laughter. This matter was circled in Neptuna gossip, but no one dared to say it in public. Who knew Jean would be so cruel to say it publicly?“I…” Ben was speechless and wanted to hide from the shame. Skylar lowered his head and felt the laughter was ear-piercing. Elias dared not speak. The atmosphere became less tense. Then, to smooth out the atmosphere, Remus spoke a few words, and they started to drink. After he toasted all the tables, he returned to the reception room upstairs. In that room were those who had entered the hall last. “Unc

Grant wasn't the only one to find Halvor's behavior strange, but even the surrounding deities thought it odd. They'd been around each other for hundreds of years and understood each other's personalities all too well.Knowing Halvor, he would either go big or go home. While they knew Halvor had a point, how could he tolerate it when Grant had disrespected him to this degree? But the truth was, only Halvor knew the real reason he had left."That was close!" Halvor, who had returned to the void, let out a sigh of relief.Yet, at that exact moment, he suddenly heard a cracking sound from within himself, and in an instant, he was frozen in place. The sound wasn't just a single occurrence—it continued persistently, eventually turning into a roaring noise. When it reached its peak, it abruptly stopped, and everything returned to silence.Halvor stood there in shock, unable to come to his senses for a long time."No!" he suddenly howled, and his whole demeanor turned frenzied. Everything went quiet as Halvor came to a stop. His robe was left in tatters, offering no cover whatsoever, leaving him completely exposed. The same happened to the avatar behind him, with nothing left for concealment."You're... You're courting death!" Halvor was in an absolute rage as his energy burst out uncontrollably. Its intensity was more than double that of his previous most powerful attack.Clothing was typically so closely associated with the body that it formed part of one's outward image. This was even more so for avatars, where the clothing was almost inseparable. After all, an avatar was not a physical entity, making it nearly impossible for the clothing to be damaged or torn.Yet, Grant's attack had left him exposed in front of so many deities. How would Halvor face anyone in the future?Grant remained in his previous position, merely laughing and looking at Halvor. He pointed at him and said, "No wonder you can say such vile things. Then, it transformed into a cloud of black smoke and dissipated. His plan was to use his avatar at this point of the fight to cause Grant to despair or to turn and flee. If that happened, taking him down afterward would elevate his prestige to the highest level. However, Grant didn't run away. Instead, his energy churned even more thickly as he snapped, "You uneducated and petty scoundrel, do you think you can bark in my presence? When Halvor saw Grant getting angry, he wasn't upset or surprised. He remained calm and said softly, "Don't be angry. All these conditions are based on the reality of the situation."Ask yourself honestly—does Darsia still have the foundation for cooperating with me? No, not even a little. The only things that interest me are Darsia's Pathic Energies and those 140 million commoners."If you're able to give me what I want, then we have a basis for collaboration. If not, there's no need to continue this discussion.""You're courting death!" Grant could no longer tolerate it. Even though Darsia had indeed been declining quite significantly, since when did Halvor get to look down on them?During the peak of Darsia's dominance, never mind Halvor, even Amez wouldn't dare to compete with them. Darsia's overall strength was unrivaled globally, leaving no room for challengers. But even if Darsia had weakened, Grant still couldn't tolerate Halvor taking advantage of his nation like this.

This was also the reason why Grant was able to reach out to Halvor. He never would have thought that Halvor would say he wanted to team up with Amez and Silas to take on Darsia together. Grant felt like no normal person would say something like this because it completely defied common sense."I really like an old saying from Darsia—money makes the world go round," Halvor continued.
