Confrontation (2)

Something cold and slimy began to wrap around Alastair's leg as he awakened from his slumber. There was a low hissing sound coming from the beast as well well. Alastair did not need a mage to tell him that it was a snake, a rather large one at that. As the snake continued to crawl, Alastair struggled to breathe.

Whatever it was that the necromancer had blown on his face, it was strong enough to make him weak, tired, and still sleepy. He could barely keep his eyes open. The snake crawled from his leg up toward his face. It glared at him and hissed angrily.

As it was about to bite Alastair on the face, Alastair shielded himself and wrapped the shield around the snake like a box. The snake hissed angrily while it was being caged and Alastair threw the box far away from the house.

The box landed with a thud and shattered, with the snake escaping into the forest. Alastair groaned loudly as he tried to stand up. His lower body was paralyzed. He groaned even louder when he tried to move his
