“Quit acting like a kid, Steve. How bad is it?” Sebastian asked, his eyes laced with worry and uncertainty. His stomach grumbled from anxiety causing sweat to suddenly escape from his pores.
“You shouldn’t have fought Donald, you shouldn’t have fought that bully!” Steve punched the air in anger, scratching his scalp in frustration. His demeanor made Seb even more concerned.
Steve had always been a lily-livered guy, Sebastian looked after him like an elder brother and loved him wholeheartedly. For Steve to shed tears like a baby, that means the situation on the ground must be very crucial, due to the amount of chaos that occurred on campus the previous day.
“A notice was pasted on the dean of student affairs notice board…. And,” Steve paused momentarily.
“And what, Steve? What is the notice about?” Sabestian’s eyes widened, his heart beating faster than usual, he knew he was going to get into trouble, but he didn’t expect it to happen so fast. Well, that could be the influence of the high and mighty, the same one he dealt with earlier on.
Sebastian bowed his head and gritted his teeth, his hands brushed across his hair as he got consumed by his emotions. He began regretting ever meeting Marilyn, who was the sole custodian of his misfortune.
He took in a deep breath, frustration laced in his countenance. “Have I been rusticated from school?” Sebastian asked in a very low tone, his voice barely above a whisper.
“What??? Rusticated? I would have been dead by now, trust me. What would I be doing at St psalms Institute without you?” Steve retorted, using his backhands to wipe away the tears streaming down his cheeks.
Sebastian exhaled deeply, it was a sign of huge relief, “So what is the problem, Steve? Why the drama?” Sebastian asked with furrowed brows as he raised his gaze to meet Steve.
“Sebastian, you are to face the panel on Tuesday. Then it would be finalized if you would continue as a student of St Psalm or not.” Steve disclosed calmly as he took out his phone to show Sabestian the soft copy of the notice he had earlier snapped from the notice board.
“You have been faulted for constituting a nuisance on campus and also beating up your fellow student mercilessly and you know it’s against the rules of St Psalms.”
“What??? Donald should also face the panel, for defamation of character, he leaked a nude video and ridiculed me!” Sebastian spat in anger in squinted eyes.
“Sabestian, but you attacked him first.”
“I was provoked! Everyone was a witness to that.” He defended.
“Unfortunately, there is no trace of the video anywhere, I don’t know how he did it, but Donald is a demon. The craziest thing is none of the students wants to testify against him.” Steve sighed, his tone laced with bitterness.
“What?” Sebastian exclaimed as his mouth dropped to the floor in shock.
Sebastian felt his arteries ripping out of his heart, his vision was a bit blurry from tears. For the past four years, he had been of good conduct, he abided by the rules and regulations guiding the school, and just one offense had resulted in him facing the panel, one place he had always avoided like the plague.
“Officer!” Steve called out, turning his gaze to the officer.
“What is the condition for Sebastian Stone’s bail?” He added.
“He would be a free man, only if he can pay the sum of eighty thousand dollars for damages, that is all Donald asked for.” The officer stated cordially, even though his tone was tinged with mockery.
Judging from Sabestian’s appearance, it was obvious he was just opportune to be in the institution, he didn’t look like one who could pay three hundred thousand dollars per academic session.
“I would pay,” Steve stated sharply causing Sabestian to turn his broken neck to face him, his eyes gleaming with gratitude.
Sebastian was indeed dumbfounded, he hated favors so much but in this case, he was happy and willing to accept it.
“I’m grateful.” He stated, a warm smile playing across his lips as he stretched forth his knuckle for a fist bump. “Thanks, champ!” He added.
Steve quickly did some documentation after clearing off the bill. Immediately Sebastian was apprehended the previous day, Steve quickly called his parents and lied about an excursion that was mandatory on campus.
Steve’s parents being too uninterested and busy, wasted to time in funding his account without proper interrogation or involvement as usual. That had always been Steve’s problem, they had the money but were never involved in his life as parents, they felt money was the solution to every problem in life.
Sebastian was feeling very emotional from Steve’s kind gesture, he needed to calm his nerves badly so he didn’t shed a tear in Steve’s presence, as it would be very embarrassing. The only place he could seek solace was the church cathedral that wasn’t far-fetched from the university.
“You can run along, Steve. I will be in the dorm shortly,” Sebastian stated cordially with a smile as he humbly dismissed Steve so he could be alone.
On his way to the Cathedral, the thought of his possible expulsion engulfed him, causing a rush of turmoil down his spine. He walked aimlessly like a stray dog in the lonely street of Oakland wishing he could just end his life.
Just at the entrance of the Cathedral, Seb saw an elderly-looking man sitting under the olive tree. He looked very hefty and he seemed like royalty, his beard was covered with gray hair even though he was bald.
He sat still on a wooden bench with a slanted neck, even though his eyes were wide open. One would feel he was lost in his thought but there wasn’t a single movement from his body.
Sebastian watched him for a minute and noticed his legs and arms were stretching vigorously, even though he looked peaceful, his guts still told him something was quite off as a medical student.
He quickly rushed to the elderly man and tapped him gently, but his heart dropped when he noticed his hands were stone cold and his tongue was even protruding.
“Help!!!!! This man is dying.” Sabestian’s voice rang off twice, alerting anyone for help. But the environment seemed unresponsive as there wasn’t a trace of any soul around.
While waiting for help, he single-handedly turned the man in a recovery position, he quickly brought out his phone, and with a trembling hand, he shined his torch into his eyes. From his observations, he realized his blood pressure was spiking up and he could likely go down with a stroke or even die if he wasted any more time.
He swiftly dialed the emergency number, asking for an ambulance, before laying him flat to administer CPR on him. After about thirty compressions, the man sneezed, his eyes fluttering open as he physically fought to regain consciousness.
“Yes! Mustard seed…” Sebastian uttered loudly, they had a class recently on mustard seed and its importance, so he hurriedly dipped his hands into his rusty pocket, brought out a few seeds, placed them under his tongue, and waited. In less than a minute, the elderly man’s eyes popped open even though it seemed like he was panicking.
He was breathing heavily like he had just escaped the claws of death. His eyes were dark gray and his mouth was slightly opened. His vision was a bit blurry but when it eventually settled, his gaze fell on Sabestian’s face. He blinked twice and squinted his eyes like he had seen someone familiar.
“Help is on the way, sir. Don’t say anything, just breathe.” Sebastian stated.
The man’s head was lying on Sebastian’s thighs, coming face to face with Sebastian as he ogled at him with so much interest and confusion.
“A… Alexander? Son? Is this you or your ghost?….” Fear was obvious in his gaze as he stuttered in shock.
“Please remain calm sir, the ambulance is almost here,” Sebastian stated cordially. Not paying heed to the man’s words. Hallucinations were common in this case, so he disregarded his words, but damn the man looked like royalty, his smell and aura were different from what he had ever seen in Oakland.
“My heavens! Grandmaster… forgive me, Grandmaster!” A husky sobbing voice yelled out. That was Benjamin, the man’s butler. He was about fifty years old and he appeared quite professional. Benjamin rushed to the scene, panting and looking very scared. He wasted no time in gliding to the floor not minding the very expensive gray suit he had on. His masculine scent was flavourful and immediately filled the air.“Oh! Do you know him?” Seb asked with furrowed brows, just to be sure and security conscious.“Of course!” Benjamin replied in a cold tone.He quickly grabbed the elderly man from Sabestian’s grip without sparing Sebastian a single glance or even uttering a word of appreciation to him, I guess he was too overwhelmed and shocked. “Grandmaster, I just left your sight for a moment…. This is the reason I humbly objected to you visiting Oakland, it doesn’t ever go well.” Benjamin stated, his eyes laced with fear even though he was glad he met the Grandmaster still alive.Despite indu
"Wait a minute! W.. what's going on here?" Sebastian's eyes narrowed, his brows furrowed in confusion. He turned to face the old man who stood right behind him, "Is... that me?" he stuttered, his gaze shifting back to the golden wall frame of his doppelganger. For a moment, he felt his mind reeling as if the room was spinning around him.Benjamin then stepped forward, a subtle smile playing on his lips. "No, young master," he clarified, his voice low and soothing. "That's Master Alex, your father."“My father?” Sebastian scoffed in total disbelief. “There is no fact backing that claim,” Sebastian replied, his heart brimming with uncertainty as he kept ogling at the picture.“I understand your dismay, but everything would be related to you, sir.” Benjamin continued.“There is a high tendency you may have the wrong person, you know?” He asked, sharing equal glances with the duo. “Yes! The resemblance is mind-blowing but we can’t conclude by that alone.”The more Sebastian spoke, the mo
“I don’t think I have so much time left, son. I have been Favored greatly by the universe. I only had one wish and that was to find you, grandson, the one and only heir to the Adams Dynasty.”“Heir?” Sebastian asked, still trying to figure out what his grandfather was on about, his heart still reeling with shock from the wholesome revelation and now he is talking about him being an heir to the Adams Dynasty.“Yes! You, son, are the only surviving heir of the Adams, hence, it’s your duty to commit to this task and take over this dynasty.” The grandmaster replied.“Such great responsibility for a college student, I have zero experience, sir,” Sebastian said.“Adams are usually known for their bravery and leadership skills. And I’m sure you have that in you too.” The grandfather answered, a warm smile playing across his lips.Taking charge of a whole dynasty wasn’t a joke, it required years of experience and proper guidance. It takes more than just a leadership skill to rule and maintain
“St Psalm Adams?” The grandfather breathed as his softened gaze pierced deep into Sebastian’s eye. “That is your real name, son, your father named you after a saint due to the joy you brought into his life.”Sebastian’s eyes widened profusely,“So you mean I’m the owner of St Psalms Institute of…” Sebastian was too stunned to speak, he brushed his hands through his hair in astonishment, unable to contain all that had been poured on him.“The Institute was your father's least investment. You shouldn’t be thinking about that son. You have the whole dynasty in your name, I’m old and unhealthy, the Adams Dynasty needs a young blood to continue with her legacy.” His grandfather lamented, patting his hands on Sebastian’s shoulder.“I have been working for almost fifty years, and my brain isn’t working so smart anymore.” He continued.“You have absolutely nothing to worry about, son. A meeting with the managers and some stakeholders in all our companies will be held soon. Where you would be
“Call out your account details to Benjamin, son. It is my honor to hand over the token your dad had kept in place for you. You’re an Adam and your aura should speak splendor and sophistication at all costs.” The grandfather stated with pride gleaming in his eyes.“Another gift? But I have the unlimited black card.” Sebastian questioned, the endless flow of fortune blowing his mind away. Sebastian stuttered a bit while calling his account number, he felt a sharp rod settle in his stomach and his heart rate doubled. He was anxious and heavily confused about what to do with his fortune.A few moments after calling out his details, Sebastian let out an involuntary gasp, his hands flying up to his mouth as he stood with force, his eyes squinting to read the figures his eyes had just caught.“Holy hell! What?” He exclaimed in total disbelief, shock brimming from every angle of his face while his grandfather glanced at his reaction.“G… grandfather! Of what use is this income? This is exube
Sebastian held his backpack filled with the designer's clothes Benjamin had picked out for him.He was dressed in his simple but sophisticated two-piece attire, staring at the chopper as it took off after dropping him at the cathedral where he met his grandfather. He gave a warm smile, his hands buried deep in his pockets as he looked through the surroundings, reminiscing on how that pre-destined evening unfolded. After soaking in all he needed to, he began strolling back to his Campus and, in no time, he was in front of his dorm. When he got to his room, it was a bit quiet, he pushed the door open and he met Steve in a dilapidated mood, staring at the ceiling with all seriousness, he was lost and didn’t even realise when Sebastian walked into the room.“Hey, buddy!” Sebastian called out in an icy voice as he tossed a throw pillow at him.The familiar voice almost made Steve break his arm as he jolted up with force and landed on Sebastian’s body. As the crybaby that he was, it didn’t
A group of elite students who were having dinner at the restaurant seemed to recognize Sebastian and It happened to be Stanley and Josh, Sebastian’s roommates, alongside their girlfriends.“Isn’t he the Laundryman who fought Donald after ruining his flamboyant jacket?” Natasha, Stanley’s girlfriend questioned with disgust in her eyes. “What is he doing here? I thought he had been dismissed already.” She sneered at Sebastian as she glared at him with hate.“Ohh! I see him now, the lizard who Marilyn confessed was wack in bed in that viral video? I guess all he knows how to do is just laundry.” Jane, Josh’s girlfriend uttered loudly to Sebastian’s hearing but his demeanor remained impenetrable.“Unfortunately babe, he is our roommate too.” Stanley sighed heavily, an embarrassed look palpable in his gaze. “Wait what???!!! Do you share a room with this lowlife? Grose!” Natasha yelled, disgust plastered all over her squinted eyes as she glared at Sebastian. “Come of it girl, it’s a plus
The restaurant suddenly became quiet like a graveyard, everyone's gaze steady and fixed on the drama that was unfolding in their presence. Some phones were set on video mode, trying to capture whatever scene that unfolded. Some student influencers and content creators were already going live with their phones and tripods, making sure to update the school on how the event turned out. It would pass as a trivia/hot gist for the week.“Seb, Buddy….” Steve called weakly, fear laced in his tone. “We can still shun all this and go back to the dorm. You’re in trouble already, if anything goes wrong I’m afraid it will give the panel more edge over your case.” Sebastian could sense the genuine concern in Steve’s utterance, but what Steve wasn’t aware of was the kind of power he possessed. Sebastian gave him a reassuring smile that he had things under control and Steve nodded in acceptance after swallowing the clog that had formed in his throat. Distress written over his demeanour.“Some folk
