Chapter 38

It was a long day for Dario already with meeting the army of the empire to the first council meeting. But he decided to stop by at the mansion before heading home.

He just wanted to check on the affairs of the mansion and be sure that all was well.

When he got to his father’s study, he turned back, “You can leave from here,” he said to Bruce who had followed him everywhere throughout the day.

Bruce bowed and left.

When Dario entered the study, the scent of aged leather and polished wood filled the air, evoking a sense of timeless elegance.

He took a deep breath inhaling its scent and found his way to the worn leather chair his father used to sit on. He settled into the chair and heaved a deep sigh in an attempt to release the pent-up tension of his day.

In a moment, his thoughts drifted to the council meeting that happened earlier. Though, the major part of the meeting went very well; there was enough cooperation and the empire was doing very well. But he couldn’t help but worry about
