Chapter 39

On getting downstairs, Dario was met by Elizabeth’s back. Just like always, she was dressed in her tailored black suit of rich black and gloves of the same color. Her sleek, chestnut hair still pulled back in a severe bun.

Dario cleared his throat to draw her attention.

‘We finally meet.’ Dario thought as she turned to face him. For the first time, he’s seeing his ruthless aunt that has been after his life since day one.

She looked just like in the paintings, just slightly older in person and presently appearing disheveled. She still had this icy demeanor that somehow surrounded her portraits.

‘We finally meet.’ Elizabeth thought, laughing devilishly in her mind as she locked eyes with her nephew who she had not seen since he was a baby. Why did he look like he grew up well regardless of the terrible circumstances that surrounded his life?

Intense hatred burned in her eyes as she laid her eyes on him. She wished he’d just disappear into thin air that moment and never return!
