Chapter 68

Delilah’s expression of radiant joy shifted instantly to one of profound disbelief and heartbreak as Cooper uttered the word again looking dead straight into her eyes.

Her eyes widened in shock, unable to comprehend the situation. She glanced around the hall and her entire body began to tremble as her heart was almost racing out of her chest.

“Please Cooper,” she whispered, stealing glances at the guests. “If it’s a prank, please stop it.”

Cooper looked at her from head to toe, “Do I look like I’m playing a prank here?” he said coldly.

“Please Cooper, don’t do this to me!” she spoke as low as possible, but she had forgotten she still had a microphone in her hands so the guests could still hear her. “Cooper, please don’t embarrass me here. Okay let’s talk things out, what’s the problem?” she said, her tears pouring uncontrollably.

“I can’t marry you Delilah. In fact I feel sorry in advance for any man that ends up marrying you, Delilah.”

“Ah!” exclaimed everyone, their mouths gaping
