Chapter 0003

Luckily, as the group of men passed by them, they didn't realize that the woman in Alden's arms was the one they were searching for. During this time, Alden's mind couldn't help but wonder about the background of the mysterious woman hugging him.

The woman appeared beautiful in her gold dress, with fair, soft, and healthy-looking skin. Anyone would see her as a princess. She clearly came from an upper-class family.

But why was she running alone? Where were her guards? Also, who were the men in black?

After the group of strangers had left, for a moment, the woman still clung to Alden without being aware of her surroundings on the sidewalk. She asked in a whisper, "Is it safe now?"

Alden was startled from his thoughts. "Ah, yes! It's safe now!"

The woman immediately released her embrace from the stranger she had just met. Unbeknownst to her, a hint of blush adorned her face. She looked incredibly beautiful and alluring, especially with her gold dress, which, when wet, seemed to give the impression that her skin was glowing.

Realizing that Alden didn't immediately ask her to let go after the group of strangers had gone further, the woman grumbled in annoyance. "You pervert!"

Alden squinted at her. "Who?"

"Who else if not you!" She crossed her arms. "You must have intentionally taken advantage of the opportunity to enjoy my embrace longer!"

Although Alden's face appeared neutral, he found the woman cute when she was angry. After all, she was the one who had hugged him without permission in the first place. Now, she was upset, thinking he had taken advantage of her.

"Wait, you've got it all wrong. I had no ulterior motive or anything toward you! I was merely protecting you from those strange men."

The pink-haired woman surveyed Alden from head to toe, then grinned. "Protecting me? You just draped your coat over me. You didn't heroically fight to protect me!" She still felt embarrassed about hugging Alden for too long and believed he had taken advantage of her.

The black-haired man let out a soft sigh and extended his hand to the drenched woman who had just held onto him tightly. "Give me one million dollars!"

The woman's eyes widened, resembling a pair of blue full moons. She was extremely angry upon hearing Alden's request. "Are you trying to rob me?"

Alden put both of his hands into his pockets, and his eyes rolled upward. "Rob you? Did I hear you correctly?" He shook his head slowly. "Didn't you say you'd pay me whatever I asked as long as I hid you?"

The woman didn't let the recent incident go easily, and neither did Alden. She clenched her fists tightly and said, "A pervert like you doesn't deserve a cent from me, let alone one million." She laughed.

Unbeknownst to her, the quiet night had amplified her laughter, making it echo from various directions. Unfortunately, the group of men in black recognized the laughter of the woman in the gold dress, so they rushed back to the street they had just passed.

"Oh, so you think you'll be safe if I don't drape my coat over your head? What if they catch you and assault you?"

Confidently, she said, "They won't assault me!"

"Then why did you run? Are you a small-time thief?" accused Alden.

The woman's blood seemed to boil at Alden's accusation. "You're very rude to accuse me of being a thief when you have no idea who I am! You won't get anything from me!" She said firmly.

"Is that so?" Alden's facial expression remained calm, even though the woman appeared to be testing his patience. "You'll soon beg me."

She retorted, "That's only in your dreams!" She turned and walked away, leaving Alden behind.

This arrogant woman needed to learn a lesson!

With lightning speed, Alden tapped a few points on the back of the pink-haired woman. Surprisingly, she couldn't move. Then Alden said, "Alright, Miss, if you don't want to pay me, I'll leave." Alden walked away, leaving the arrogant woman alone.

At that moment, the group of men in black had located the whereabouts of the woman in the gold dress. "It's Miss Hopkins!"

"Get her immediately!"

The voice of the man in black sent shivers down Grace Hopkins' spine.

Grace tried to move her limbs. "Aah!" But unfortunately, no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't move her body in the slightest.

Impossible! I can't move at all!

At the same time, the group of men in black was getting closer to Grace, making her panic. Even though she knew they wouldn't harm her, she wouldn't allow herself to be captured by them.

You pervert! How dare you leave me in this condition!

Desperately, the pink-haired woman shouted, "Please, I beg you, save me!"

But, Alden paid no attention and continued walking away. He grinned, recalling the name Hopkins, which seemed familiar to him. Could the woman be Grace Hopkins, who was rumored to be the most beautiful woman in Bavermouth City? He didn't expect to meet her in an unwanted encounter.

Grace cried out in desperation, "Hey, listen to me! I'll really give you one million!"

Damn, that perverted man really left me!

The man in black wearing black gloves reached for the pink-haired woman's hand. She screamed in frustration, "Don't touch me!"

One of the men in black said with concern, "Someone has locked Miss Hopkins' body. We need to take her to the villa." They nodded in agreement.

One of them lifted the pink-haired woman onto his shoulder. Grace looked toward Alden's retreating back, completely indifferent to her. With no other options, she cried out dramatically, "Help! Anyone, please help me! They're going to rape me!"
