The men in black shared puzzled looks, their expressions filled with confusion. They were certain they hadn't provoked her in any way. Swiftly, they increased their pace, ushering Grace towards a waiting black SUV.
"Please, help me! They're going to rape me!"
"Miss Hopkins, please don't talk nonsense. We're only taking you back to the villa. We wouldn't dare to rape you," a middle-aged man with round glasses said softly and politely, trying to reassure the young Miss Hopkins that she had nothing to worry about.
Grace cried out in frustration again, this time she was in tears. "Nonsense! You're forcing your will on me! It's the same as rape me!"
However, the bespectacled man paid no heed to Grace Hopkins' complaints. He was only following orders to bring the runaway woman back to her father.
The car's engine started, preparing to take Grace back to the villa. Suddenly, a pebble hit the car's window, shattering it. Whereas the car's windows were designed to be bulletproof, so this incident surprised everyone inside the black SUV, including the immobile pink-haired woman.
"Who's this little troublemaker daring to mess with the Hopkins family?" the bespectacled man growled angrily.
"Has the brat grown tired of living?"
"This can't be tolerated!"
A mysterious figure in a long coat stood not far from the black SUV, appearing remarkably calm.
The SUV's door opened, and several men with swords emerged. Their faces were twisted in anger, and they seemed thirsty for blood.
"Who are you? Don't you know who you're dealing with?"
The man in the black jacket replied without expression, "You're not worthy to know who I am, and I couldn't care less about who you are." He looked straight at the black SUV, and in an indifferent tone, he continued, "Hand over the woman to me. She owes me a million."
Owes? A million?
All the men in black burst into raucous laughter.
"How can the most popular businesswoman in Bavermouth owe you a million?"
"It seems like he's just a fraud!"
"Have you not woken up from your sleep? She owing you a million is the most worthless nonsense I've heard this year!
Grace tried to glance in the direction of the voices. After seeing the man in the black coat, she felt a little awed by Alden's bravery. But she wasn't too quick to be satisfied. After all, the black-clad men were the guards of the respected Hopkins family. If he wasn't genuinely skilled in martial arts, today might be his last day in this world.
The round-glasses man leaning on the car spoke arrogantly while lighting a cigarette. "Too arrogant for someone like you who's nobody!"
One of the swordsmen said, "It seems we should teach him a lesson on how to behave toward the Hopkins family!"
"You're right."
Still leaning against the car, the round-glasses man spoke with a cold tone, "Bring me his head. I will present it to our lord."
One of the swordsmen rushed at Alden and swung his sword at him. Unexpectedly, Alden easily dodged the attack and parried the sword, then struck the man's neck, causing him to fall to the ground. The unfortunate man didn't move, likely having fainted.
The round-glasses man muttered in frustration, "This can't be!" He spat, then made a hand signal to the black-clad men to attack Alden together.
The black-clad men immediately attacked Alden with all their strength. But Alden continued to regard them as a group of ants, easily avoiding their attacks and then delivering counterblows that left them all sprawled with bruises on their faces and chests.
This man was incredible!
Grace focused her gaze on Alden, her eyes shining. She had never expected that the man she had recently underestimated possessed such deadly strength. Even the martial artists sent by her father didn't match his skills.
In a flat, expressionless tone, Alden spoke from his position, "Is that all the strength the Hopkins family's guards have?" In fact, the ten men who attacked him hadn't caused him to shift even an inch from his spot.
The round-glasses man grew increasingly frustrated. Then he shouted at his subordinates, "You're all utterly useless! Get off your sorry backsides and confront that man! Do you wish to bring shame and humiliation upon the Hopkins family?"
Unfortunately, none of the men managed to respond. They had all passed out.
Alden stared coldly at the round-glasses man and said, "It seems I've found the cowards here."
With veins bulging on his temples, the round-glasses man shouted, "Mind your words! I can snap your neck with a single move!"
Unfazed, Alden responded calmly, "Go ahead if you can."
The round-glasses man threw his cigarette butt carelessly, then lunged at Alden with a switchblade. Without much difficulty, Alden managed to dodge the attack and delivered a blow that sent the round-glasses man flying, hitting the SUV's body. "Arrggghhh!" He coughed up blood.
When the commotion occurred, Grace glanced at Alden once more. After defeating a dozen men without moving an inch from his position, the aura he exuded was vastly different from the first time she had met him. Grace couldn't help but realize that she had made a grave mistake by crossing paths with him.
With no men left standing to oppose him, Alden turned his gaze towards the black SUV, contemplating the situation of the pink-haired woman inside.
"Grace Hopkins, you owe me."
Calmly, Alden walked towards the car.
The woman's face, once filled with admiration, turned to fear as she saw Alden enter the car. After all, she had caused him trouble and deceived him. It was entirely possible that Alden might have sinister intentions towards her.
In contrast, the mysterious man asked, "Are you okay?"
The woman pretended to be brave and replied, "Yes, I'm fine. Now release me!" She didn't want to appear vulnerable, as that would only make someone more inclined to harm her.
Alden let out a slow sigh as he observed the woman once again displaying her arrogance. Wealthy young ladies in Bavermouth often acted as they pleased.
"Hasn't your family ever taught you manners?" he asked.
The pink-haired woman bit her lip, holding back from speaking further. At that moment, she realized that Alden had no intention of harming her. Simultaneously, she needed him to free her body.
In the silence, Alden examined her more closely. She remained captivating in her soaked golden dress. With only the two of them inside the car and the tranquil atmosphere, Alden could see the curves of her body more distinctly.
Annoyed and feeling exposed, the pink-haired woman made a sarcastic remark, "Are you satisfied with your little show?" Her voice once again jolted Alden from his reverie. Undeniably, she was exceptionally beautiful, captivating any man who gazed upon her.
