132 - Promise

Alex steps forward, and then stares at Detective Barnes’ eyes so closely. “Care to explain to me why I should answer your question?” he asks coldly.

“Why you ask? Cause I’m a cop, and that’s what I do. You only need to answer my question, or else…”

“Or what?” Alex cuts his words immediately. “You want to cuff me? Go ahead if you dare,” Alex taunts by giving his two hands.

At the moment, Alex isn’t able to make up his mind whether to answer the invitation from The Catacomb which Morgan Davis left to him.

So he thinks maybe he can buy some time by letting the police hold him captive. That way, he has a reason to not answer that invitation. After all, he is so tired right now due to lack of rest.

He is quite confident he can avoid any trouble with the cops even if they hold him for one or two days. Getting a rest there won’t be bad at all, if he can avoid confrontation with that dangerous organization.
