Chapter 3: Heading to the Heavenly Star Pavilion

The patriarch of the Tian family was truly furious. He couldn't accept that his children and nephews were opposing his decision. Meanwhile, his own brothers, the elders, didn't dare utter a single word.

"Ayun, come with me!"

After having enough with his family members, Patriarch Tian left the meeting room. For a moment, he glanced at his grandson and then ordered the young man to follow him.

Patriarch Tian walked rather quickly towards his private chamber. Behind him, Tian Yun followed. Once in the room, he instructed his grandson to sit.

"Tian Yun, forgive me, your grandfather, for not being able to make you a great knight in this city. After all, you are the child of a genius of the Tian family, the only member of our family who has reached the Martial Ancestor realm. I believe the talent your father possessed has been passed down to you, but we were unable to teach you better, resulting in your current limited abilities," Tian Seng Jin said softly to his grandson.

"I don't blame you, grandfather. Maybe I just lack talent," replied Tian Yun, trying to console his visibly saddened grandfather.

Tian-Seng Jin took a deep breath. Then he retrieved something from inside his robe—a plaque inscribed with "Heavenly Pavilion." He handed the plaque to his grandson.

"What is this, grandpa?" asked Tian Yun.

"That is a special plaque that was once given by the first leader of the Heavenly Pavilion to our ancestors. Go there and study at that great sect. With that plaque, you will definitely be accepted by them. I am sure you will become a great person if you learn there," said Tian Bao.

Tian Yun fell silent. He didn't understand or know anything about the great sect his grandfather mentioned.

"Grandpa, I want to stay with this family. I am sure I will become a great person under your guidance," Tian Yun replied.

The Light God Emperor residing within Tian Yun's body was confused. He didn't understand why he could say such things. He felt it was connected to the genuine feelings of the body he currently inhabited.

"Ahhh, you don't know the situation. Actually, that's not the only reason I sent you to the Heavenly Pavilion. With you being there, I believe I can still save the Tian lineage from destruction," said Tian Bao again.

Tian Yun still didn't understand his grandfather's words. However, this time, he didn't argue. He agreed to study at the Heavenly Pavilion.

The next day, Tian Yun set off for Xingxing City, about five thousand miles from Zhuansi City, where Tian Yun lived. Riding during the day and resting at night, it would take Tian Yun at least two weeks to reach the city.

Xingxing City is often referred to as the city of martial arts experts. Besides being home to many practitioners and great martial arts experts, it also houses the four largest martial arts academies in the world. Xingxing City itself is quite expansive and more aptly described as a province. Each of the four cardinal directions of Xingxing City hosts one of the world's best academies.

In the east of Xingxing City lies the Heavenly Star Pavilion, while in the west is the Sky Cloud Academy. To the north, the Golden Dragon Sect reigns supreme. Opposite it, in the south, stands the Seven Moon Tower.

Whoosh.. Thud.

Thump!

Suddenly, the horse Tian Yun was riding collapsed and was dragged several yards. Tian Yun almost fell. Fortunately, he managed to jump up and land safely on the ground. They were only a mile away from Xingxing City, but now his journey was delayed by a stealth attack.

Tian Yun knew someone had deliberately killed his horse with a dark attack. He had seen a silvery light flash towards him, striking his horse. Tian Yun examined the condition of his now-lifeless horse and found a silver dagger lodged in its neck.

"Hmmm.. who is trying to harm me? Does this new body of mine have so many enemies that even in a city so far from Zhuansi, I still encounter foes?" murmured Tian Yun as he scanned his surroundings.

Tian Yun had been searching for quite some time to find out who had killed his horse, but there were no signs of anyone in the area. It seemed the person had run away immediately after harming Tian Yun's horse. Finally, Tian Yun decided to continue his journey on foot. He took the provisions hanging on his horse and began to walk away from the place.

After walking half a mile, Tian Yun encountered another problem. This time, he was confronted by two masked individuals dressed in black. Tian Yun knew they did not have good intentions. He prepared himself for any possible outcome.

The two individuals immediately attacked Tian Yun. From their movements, speed, and strength, Tian Yun knew that they were Martial Arts Masters of the Fourth Level. This meant their cultivation levels were far above Tian Yun's, who was still at the base level of a beginner practitioner.

Had the young man not been the reincarnation of the god of light, he would have died from the first strike alone. However, with the divine eye ability he possessed, Tian Yun managed to use a time-slowing technique to dodge the attacks.

"Hmmm... luckily, my soul has started to merge with this new body. So I can still use some divine techniques, although not at full capacity," Tian Yun muttered.

For a moment, the two adversaries exchanged glances. They had not expected their attack to be so easily avoided by Tian Yun. Although with his current abilities, Tian Yun could only slow down time, it was enough to evade their attacks.

What Tian Yun did truly surprised both of the attackers. Besides their surprise at discovering that Tian Yun was still in the realm of a Level One practitioner, his speed of evasion was beyond their comprehension.

It was impossible for someone at Tian Yun's current level to possess such unseen speed. Yet both of their powers were far above Tian Yun's.

"Who are you? Why are you attacking me?" Tian Yun asked his enemies firmly.

The two obstacles paid no attention whatsoever to Tian Yun's words. Instead, they exerted even more power than before. Both attackers were determined to eliminate Tian Yun, launching their assault from two directions. However, without the slightest hint of fear, Tian Yun prepared to face their attacks.
