Chapter 5: The Peculiarity of Tian Yun

The students stood up. They continued their tasks as instructed by the vice chairman of the Heavenly Star Pavilion.

The vice chairman of the Heavenly Star Pavilion turned his gaze to Tian Yun and said, "Young man, show me the level of your physical body."

For a moment, Tian Yun was silent. He did not understand the old man's words.

"Don't worry, whatever the result, you will still be accepted into this academy because you have the Golden Seal Plaque of the Heavenly Star Pavilion. I wonder what your relationship is with the late legendary hero Tian Xiao Sheng, who lived hundreds of years ago."

Seeing Tian Yun standing still as if deep in thought, the vice chairman of the Heavenly Star Pavilion smiled and spoke words to reassure him. A few moments later, the young man understood what the old man meant.

Tian Yun did not take issue with the vice chairman's words. He immediately approached the crystal stone that measured the level of one's physical strength and true martial spirit. Without hesitation, the young man went straight to the first stone, which measured physical strength.

"Place both your palms on the stone," instructed the vice chairman of the Heavenly Star Pavilion.

Tian Yun followed the vice chairman's instructions. He pressed both his palms onto the stone that measured physical strength. He kept his palms there for quite a while, but there was no reaction from the stone. Then he withdrew his hands from the stone.

"Hmmm, what a pity. It seems you don't possess the talent of the hero I mentioned earlier. And you carry the Tian surname, don't you?" the vice chairman of the Heavenly Star Pavilion said to Tian Yun.

Tian Yun nodded in response to the vice chairman's question. He then approached the other measuring stone. This time, Tian Yun would determine the purity of his soul. He immediately placed both his hands on the greenish jade stone.

Unlike the previous incident that somewhat disappointed the vice chairman, this time Tian Yun left the old man wide-eyed. He seemed unable to believe the changes indicated by the soul purity measuring stone.

How could he not? The changes shown by the stone reached their peak and seemed to continue rising. The stone's measurement limit was only at the ninth level. It even appeared as though the stone was trembling, unable to measure Tian Yun's level.

"Enough! You might break the stone!" exclaimed the vice chairman of the Heavenly Star Pavilion.

Tian Yun withdrew his hands. Instantly, the situation returned to calm. The vice chairman of the Heavenly Star Pavilion stared at him inquisitively.

"What is going on? This boy is truly mysterious and special. It's very rare for a practitioner to have a soul at the ninth level. Even the legendary hero Tian Xiao Sheng was at the eighth level," murmured the vice chairman of the Heavenly Star Pavilion, named Mao Riun, unable to hide his amazement.

In fact, if Tian Yun had continued using the measuring stone, the stone itself would have shattered. When the young man exerted his strength through his hands, the crystal stone inadvertently measured Tian Yun's true power. Of course, the young man's strength was not that of an ordinary human.

Tian Yun then entered the area of the Heavenly Star Pavilion after receiving permission from the vice chairman. The young man was truly amazed by the scenery there. Inside the gate, there was a fairly high hill, and right at the top of the hill was a golden building.

The building was surrounded by white clouds, making it appear as though it were floating in the sky. That building was known as the Heavenly Star Pavilion.

Indeed, from outside the gate, people couldn't see what was inside. The entire place, except for the gate, was enveloped by a seal that prevented people from looking in.

The seal resembled a thick fog that covered the entire Heavenly Star Pavilion area. Only those who entered through the gate could see what was inside the Grand Assembly.

The golden palace-like building served as the residence for the prominent members of the Assembly. Meanwhile, the other members resided in buildings surrounding the hill. Anyone fortunate enough to visit that place would receive an extraordinary blessing of power.

After walking quite a distance, Tian Yun finally reached his destination. The dormitory where he would be living daily was a blue building with a gate featuring a blue tiger statue.

Several people were already there, both new and old students. On the nameplate at the entrance, it was written, “Star Sword Pavilion.”

The Star Sword Pavilion itself was surrounded by a fairly high wall. So, if someone wanted to enter, they had no choice but to go through the gate. At the gate, several senior students were watching Tian Yun’s every move with sharp eyes.

“Hey, newbie, what are you waiting for? Hurry up and get inside! Soon, all students, both old and new, will be gathered in the main field in front of the Heavenly Star Pavilion. Don't be late and embarrass the Star Sword Pavilion,” one of the senior students said sternly to Tian Yun.

“Alright!” Tian Yun quickly entered.

“Hey, you have no respect for your seniors; you are just barging in without showing respect,” scolded another senior student, seeing Tian Yun enter without acknowledging them.

Realizing his mistake of entering without greeting, Tian Yun turned around and bowed respectfully to the senior who had reprimanded him. However, the senior seemed intent on causing trouble for Tian Yun.

As the young man turned and bowed, he received a kick from the senior, causing him to fall to the ground. The incident made everyone present laugh at him, except for another young man with slightly dark skin.

This young man was in the same group and class as Tian Yun. He was a young master from the Li family from the city of Xiangda, located to the east. His name was Li Jiang, and he was a young man around 17 years old.

He particularly disliked seeing others being bullied in front of him. Li Jiang, who was tall and strong with dark skin, immediately approached Tian Yun and helped him up.

Tian Yun stood up, raising his head to stare sharply at the seniors at the gate who were laughing at him. The young man was angered by the actions of the seniors. He clenched his fists so tightly that his bones cracked. Fortunately, Li Jiang patted his shoulder to calm him down.
