Chapter 8: Awakening the Martial Spirit

After explaining it to the students, Teacher Yu ordered the new students to try it. Of all the students, only Tian Yun was unable to use the martial spirit to strengthen his attack.

This was essentially because Tian Yun did not possess a martial spirit. He was the reincarnation of the God Emperor, who naturally did not have a martial spirit like ordinary humans.

"What is your name? Why can't you use the martial spirit refinement technique? From the information I received, you have a soul purity level of nine. You should be the most adept at cultivation enhancement and martial spirit control," said Teacher Yu Lau, who seemed not to understand what Tian Yun was facing.

Tian Yun, as the God of Light, truly did not understand the martial spirit concept that the teachers at the Divine Tower Academy were referring to. In his past, he had cultivation and power control techniques but had never studied anything about martial spirits. That’s why Tian Yun, who had replaced the original body of Tian Yun, did not possess a martial spirit.

"My name is Tian Yun, Teacher! I also don't understand, teacher! I don't know why I can't use the technique you taught. Maybe I'm just not talented at martial spirit control techniques. Later in the Star Sword Pavilion, I will learn and ask the seniors who understand this," replied Tian Yun, not knowing what answer to give so the teacher would accept his situation.

"You don't need to ask your seniors in the pavilion. I will teach you directly here. But you will not rest for seven days and seven nights to awaken your martial spirit. Can you endure that?" asked Teacher Yu Lau, truly intending to teach Tian Yun.

Without any hesitation, Tian Yun nodded and said he was ready to go to the teacher. He indeed wanted to learn from the teacher what a martial spirit meant.

All this time, Tian Yun had no idea what the theory behind the martial spirit was. Initially, he thought the martial spirit was the life force within his body.

"From what I found after examining your body's condition, it seems you truly do not yet possess a martial spirit. However, what confuses me is that even without one, you can cultivate and are now at the first level of the beginner practitioner realm. I do not understand how cultivation power adheres to your body. Typically, cultivation power resides in the martial spirit," Teacher Yu revealed to Tian Yun after examining him.

Tian Yun put on a dumbfounded expression. He pretended not to understand his condition, though he was well aware that he was different from the people there.

Tian Yun, the God of Light, still did not know which world he was in. Despite his godly power, which was greatly limited due to his weak body, he did not feel the divine power he usually could sense.

Tian Yun once concluded that he was in another universe. He thought he might have been thrown into a universe beyond his reach as the highest God.

Because the Heavenly Emperor, who was the father of the God of Light, once told him that the universe was divided into three. At that time, they were in the first universe, which was ruled by the gods in the land of Nirvana.

Master Yu Lau then gave a book about martial spirit techniques, from non-existence to existence. The book contained cultivation techniques that were the result of contemplation by the universal god, the creator of cultivation.

"Study it; once you have mastered it, you can resume training with them. For now, you will remain in that place until your martial spirit can awaken."

After Master Yun left, Tian Yun began studying the book given by the Assistant Master at the Star Sword Pavilion. First, Tian Yun opened the pages that discussed the elements and intricacies of martial spirits.

The book revealed that the martial spirit referred to was a power that forms a new soul within oneself. A refined soul is a vessel of power that supports cultivation energy.

Tian Yun started with the formation of the martial spirit within his body. Everything began from the beginning, with the martial spirit being formed at the first level of the beginner practitioner realm. One day passed, and Tian Yun was already in the first level of the Intermediate Practitioner realm.

Although for ordinary people it would be an extraordinary achievement, for Tian Yun, who was the reincarnation of the strongest god, the process he was undergoing was very slow.

Every day, Tian Yun continued to strive to train and cultivate according to the instructions in the book given by Master Yu. After three days in that place, Tian Yun had reached the peak level of the Expert Practitioner realm.

The young man still couldn't continue his cultivation to break through to the Martial Master realm. His body couldn't keep up with the acceleration of cultivation.

Even so, the remaining four days given by Master Yu were fully utilized by Tian Yun to study the contents of the book given by the master. He even memorized all the contents of the scripture regarding cultivation and the techniques created by a God referred to as the Universal God.

Although somewhat different from the cultivation he created when he was the God of Light, the strongest god in his own universe, Tian Yun had no difficulty learning the scripture.

Almost all the techniques in the book had been studied by Tian Yun, especially the sealing technique, which he felt exceeded the techniques he had created before. Other aspects did not attract Tian Yun's attention much, as he felt that what was in the book was still below his abilities when he was the God of Light.

Just as the training period reached the seventh day, Master Yu Lau and the disciples from the Earth Dragon Tower returned to that place. It turned out that the training schedule in the dimension currently occupied by Tian Yun was only once a week.

In essence, the training dimension created by God was quite arduous for ordinary humans. However, the advantage of that dimension was that those who trained there experienced the equivalent of ten times the training in a regular place.

"How has your training been, Tian Yun? Have you succeeded in awakening your martial spirit?" asked Master Yu Lau to Tian Yun.
