Brandon's lost

"I choose the golem that resembles me and the one wielding an axe," Brandon eagerly declared, seizing the opportunity to be the first to make his selection.

The sight of the six-armed golem and the crystal golem sent shivers down his spine.

He preferred facing opponents who used conventional weapons, which had prompted him to hastily choose those two golems before Arthur could even realize his intentions.

"Oh, look at you suddenly becoming articulate and expressing your desires, You cheeky bastard, you picked the ones that seem easier to fight," Arthur grumbled after realising he lost to Brandon in this round.

"No need to complain now, After all, they aren't even Tier 1 golems yet, Come, Arthur, you should watch Brandon take on the golems and see if you can learn anything,"

Alec interjected, beckoning Arthur to join him in watching from a distance.

"Go!" Alec commanded his golems to attack independently, curious to witness if these new variants he had crafted possessed any distinct q

Afolayan, Sefu, Adeola, Nuri, and Makeda—those were the last five members of the Ashmaw Academy team that were still standing and fighting.Whenever an Ashmaw member was knocked out and unable to continue fighting, the judge would slip onto the stage and remove them without disrupting the fight. It was almost like he had a speedster’s ability, he was that fast at clearing them out while avoiding interfering with the battle , and aside from that one blunder of stopping a blunt arrow for Moro that he made , he had only appeared when necessary.Seeing half his team disqualified, Afolayan swept his spear sideways, unleashing a wild spear-qi that lunged at Lucas, mirroring the arc of his swing. Lucas twisted his glaive in a repelling motion, as his own qi surged forward to form a whirling vortex that spat little lightning currents, even so, when the spear’s energy hit, it drove him backward.Afolayan snapped his left hand and a massive demonic lion with ash-grey fur materialized, immedia

  • Quick Work 2.

“My turn,” Endrick said, firing a bolt straight at her head, it moved so fast most people saw only a blur. Even the judge flinched, sweat beading as he wondered what kind of crazy mage would aim at another opponent’s head like he meant to kill her.So he lunged into play, however by the time he caught the bolt, he realised the tip was blunt. At worst, it would have knocked her out, not killed her, he’d interrupted a clean elimination, so he turned to Moro who was already slowly working on breaking free from the thorns imprisonment.“You’re disqualified. Step off the stage,” the judge said.“Says who? I’m still very much in this battle if—” she kept ranting at the judge, trying to exploit the fact that he’d interrupted the shot and box him into a corner. But as the judge hesitated, another bolt hissed forward, this time he stepped aside and allowed the bolt do the job it was meant to do, as Endrick’s Bolt which was covered in Qi, and was conjured from the mana that was infused into

It was a fitted dark-leather chestplate, reinforced with volcanic spirit metal along the ribs and shoulders, which now clad him in ember lines running across it like glowing tribal veins. In that moment his Beast mantle that once rested on his neck seemed to disappear entirely, as if it were the trigger for his spirit equipment set. The instant Lucas noticed this, he frowned; because every member of the Ashmaw team wore one, and the thought that each of them had a spirit-equipment set specifically made for them made him scowl and Alec, who hadn’t planned to participate, felt the same as it was a huge advantage no matter how they looked at it.“Shall we begin again?” Afolayan said while raising his Lionfang spear, as lightning coursing over his body, and his dreads whipping around as he drew on the Elk’s power. He was a beast master who is bonded to two demonic beasts, an Ash Lion and a Lightning Elk and his affinity with both beasts was so high that he could use their powers without

Immediately after Afolayan finished speaking, Osei began to jog forward; at first his steps were slow and steady, but as his momentum rose with each footfall landed with a heavy thud. The ground cracked beneath his strides even at a jog; in one fluid motion he reached behind his back and unhooked his dual battle-axes, named Daybreak and Duskflayer. With both weapons out, his speed seems to have surged; as he closed in on the War God Mage Academy line, and what surprised them most was that the rest of Ashmaw Academy team were strolling behind him instead of running to match his pace.“Let me—” Brandon started to unsheathe his saber, ready to intercept him; since the charging mage clearly had eyes on Alec, he felt it was another Gordons’ duty to stop him.But as he drew, Pale laid a hand over his hilt, halting the motion.“Nah, I’ll take this one,” Pale said, dashing to meet the juggernaut-sized Osei.[> Mid-Tier Spell – Stonehide Reinforcement. <]Osei cast his first spell; as his skin

  • Arrogance Check.

With the Ashmaw Academy stepping out in such a display, they clearly had been able to capture the heart of the audience, but the judge wasn’t about to let them take all the limelight in this battle for two; as he raised his hands to quiet the mages outside the arena.Immediately the whole area fell silent, waiting for him to speak.“Now that Ashmaw Academy Team is in the open, it’s time to usher in the second academy for this battle, from the left side, let's welcome the War God Mage Academy,” the judge announced, pointing his whole arm towards the tunnel on the arena’s left side.“Led by their captain, Alec Gordons; vice-captain, Marionette Beatrice; and the rest of the team: Lucas Blade, Pale Zero, Endrick Gordons, Brandon Gordons, Arthur Gordons, Sophia Gordons, Agnes Gordons, Knight Gordons, and Kate Colossus.” The longer he read the roster, the harder it was for many to ignore the fact that more than half the team were from a single clan, making them what the War God Mage Academy

  • Ashmaw's Ember March.

The next ten minutes consisted of Vincent and Vladimir toying with her until all of her spell rings were finally broken, and she found herself staring down at two blades pointed at her.Vincent’s blade was pointed at her neck, while Vladimir’s own was aimed at her lower back, targeting her spinal cord. With both of them locking her into a sure-kill position and all her protective spell rings destroyed, she had no choice but to diffuse her energy blade, as it integrated into her right hand like a spirit equipment would, though it didn’t leave a glowing tattoo before disappearing. Her hand simply flared blue for a second after it merged, then the light faded completely.“The winner of this round is the Battle Mage Academy,” the referee announced as he reappeared at the middle of the battle stage, and the cheers outside the stadium erupted louder than ever.It was so loud that Alec and his group, who were waiting at their designated tunnel, could feel the ground tremble beneath them.Tho
