There is something about the history of Jhinn that just doesn’t sit right with Asther. As he read through the pages, there are a number of inconsistencies and questionable events that just didn’t add up no matter how much he thought about them. Furthermore, when he asked these things from Boreas, the juror gave him a hearty laugh. This old juror who has existed for a long time in that world and has also witnessed the war with his own eyes. This same juror laughed at the statement of Asther. But not out of thinking how stupid Asther is. Far from it, the juror made this laugh because he completely agrees with Asther. And he made it because, out of all the people who exists in Jhinn, he didn’t think that he’d be hearing this logical argument from someone who might be executed. This is the exact same thing that Asther wants to bring up at that point. He wants to ask Claire just how much she knows about the events. How much she truly knows about these things and not just the things that sh
Everything is finished. There is no need for Asther to contain the saintess anymore because, he knows that reality has finally hit her. That is why he restored the sensed back to her nerves. Allowing her to move once again and, as soon as she could, she slapped Asther’s cheek.“If you want to let out your anger, I know a better way.” Asther said. Not even showing any signs of shock from what hit him.How would he when he activated Chronostasis as soon as he gave Claire back her senses. He was able to see the slap coming from a mile away and simply decided not to dodge it. A decision that he made because, he knows that this would be a lot helpful in ensuring that she would calm down. Even if it is just a bit. And surely enough, the slap that was given did do the magic that it was intended to.“No. That should be enough.” Claire replied. Retracting her hand but still having an irritated look on her face.“We can stop this conversation now if you want.” Asther commented.“No. That is not
This is the part that Asther wanted to avoid most of all. It is the mention of his System. The only gift that he received from the gods which allowed him to reach the level of power which he currently enjoys. Talking about this would reveal everything that he wanted to hide all along and, no matter how he looks at this, it isn’t a good thing for this to actually happen. It isn’t a good thing at all. There is no escape for him. He has no choice but to answer Claire and to answer her with the truth as well. After all. Both of these are clauses under the same contract that the two of them agreed upon. And although Asther doesn’t want to admit it, this is probably the first time that Claire actually bested him in something.“My gift.” Asther said, not holding himself back. “My gift is something that is referred to as a system.”“System?”“It’s difficult to explain it so I might as well just show you.”Asther began clicking on a couple of buttons on the settings of his system. He already l
“Noir.”Asther summoned his weapon which came out exactly where he wanted it to. The whole process still felt strange to Asther. Especially because he has been used to assembling his sniper rifle right before he kills someone. Not adding the fact that he also needs to make sure that this weapon is well secured and hidden in order for his cover to not be blown. These worries do not exist anymore because of how magic works in the world of Jhinn. That is why the necromancer also found it funny that it is this way. If he was in earth, something like this would not be possible at all. And now this begs the question of whether or not Jhinn is actually a pre-evolved world or, if it’s just that the people have learned to live so comfortably with their magic that technology never progressed much – Asther thinks it’s the latter.“Why are we up this early exactly?” Asther’s weapon asked as soon as he brought it out.“Oh don’t whine would you? It’s not that early.”“Not that early? Do you even kn
Asther already knows a lot of what he needs to about high ogres. Just like every monster that he has come across in this world, the necromancer would not engage a fight completely clueless. Even in a surprise fight, the necromancer would find a way in order to make sure that he at least has a certain level of understanding of his opponent before actually engaging in the real battle. That is the kind of person Asther is and, it is because of this personality of his that the necromancer is also able to dodge a lot of dangerous situations as well. With this being said, the necromancer already knows a lot about the high ogres. He knows that these creatures are capable of using complex and strong spells. At the same time, they have a thick skin which adds to their defense. Making it difficult for regular attacks to wound them. Of course this isn’t as strong as the defensive capability of golems and the other monsters in the canyon but, at the same time, this isn’t something to be trifled w
Asther began the preparations needed for the fight right away. As soon as he summoned the high ogres, he snapped his fingers, indicating that they should begin their transformation into bloodbornes. There are a total of ten high ogres that Asther is able to salvage. And, since this is the number of high ogres that he has, the transformation of these undead into bloodbornes isn’t that taxing for his mana pool. There is a certain threshold that has been depleted of course but, this only goes beyond half by a little. That is why it is something that is still acceptable where the said parameters are concerned.Plus, there’s the fact that Asther is wearing items that regenerates his dark mana for him. As soon as he depleted his dark mana, he took the ones on these items to bring his mana back to full. Taking away the slight inconvenience altogether. This is how strong the necromancer is.“You really thought this through didn’t you?” Noir commented as soon as Asther finished.“Of course I d
What surprised the necromancer the most about the attack is the recoil that it created. As soon as Asther fired, his whole body is pushed back by the blow. This is how strong the first round is and, the firepower that came didn’t fail to deliver as well. The missile flew towards the intended direction. Filled with an immense amount of dark mana and strengthened further by the skill that Asther added unto it. This same projectile reached the ground in not less than two seconds and, as soon as it made impact, this is the effect that came after.A large blast of dark mana expanded on the ground right away. Creating a dome of spiraling wind that is colored by the darkness and the crimson of the domain. The earth shook and the tremors are enough to almost make Asther lose his balance. Yet he didn’t.Asther fired the second shot from his canon. Almost as if the first shot didn’t impress him at all. And this might just be the case. After all, why would he be impressed if he already expected
“Alright, what do we have here?”Asther looked at the number of things that he gained in the fight. In actuality, it cannot even be called as a fight because of the way things happened. There is no difficulty in winning on the part of the necromancer. Things came to him so easily that, he doesn’t even think that any of the monsters of the canyon would pose a threat to him anymore. That is, aside from the actual guardians of the canyon of course. These would be the real deal. The real dangers to the mission which has a slim chance of spicing things up for him. Butt he isn’t betting on this too much as well. All because he knows that these same monsters would be a lot weaker when he finally faces them.Asther is sure of this because, he will receive a lot of new missions along the way. He will clear a lot of these as well. The necromancer will continue generating these missions like crazy and finishing them in the most optimal way possible. Making him a threatening wielder of the system
