Asther is able to get far away from the village. During the time when he killed Baron, James, and Chad, he actually ran quite the distance. Getting a good grasp of his surroundings, as well as the route he’d take when he escapes. He left markings on the trees just to make sure. Not the obvious type of course but those that can be easily dismissed as a tree’s natural scar. With this, Asther is able to get to a considerable distance away from his pursuers. He also brought some items with him for the journey ahead. Specifically, he took the rewards from when he stole from the village. Other than this, he also brought along some of the loot that came from when he assassinated some of the villagers. He used this to change his clothes because, quite frankly, he can’t use the ceremonial clothes if he goes inside a new village. This would only make him look suspicious. Especially considering that eh also has a black ceremonial cloak. But this isn’t the primary concern at that moment. Asther’
Asther didn’t take long to find monsters. In fact, he didn’t need to. The teen created a lure for the monsters of the forest – catching a few more fish and placing aromatic herbs on them. Making these seem more savory than they actually are.Soon enough, a couple of goblins arrived at the scene. Asther waited on top of a tree for them to come close. He wanted to try fighting monsters himself but, seeing as his strength stat has been greatly decreased, he thought that it would not be a wise idea. Especially considering that there might be stronger monsters that get lured in his trap. That’s why he let his creation do the work for him. He watched as the goblins came close to the fish. They looked around of course, a bit wary of their surroundings. But as soon as they saw that the coast is clear, they went straight for the savory fish – falling for Asther’s trap. The goblins stepped sharp objects on the ground. These are the poison needles that Asther created. A liquid that has worked on
The following day, Asther started things off by hunting for his breakfast. This came easy since he’s still near the river. Allowing him to catch a couple of fishes again. He needs enough nutrition if he wants his new body to grow stronger because, aside from the status points that he gains, he also needs to put in an effort of his own.Hence he caught three big fishes. This will be enough protein for the morning. As for the aftertaste of the fish, Asther took some apples from the trees. Thankfully most of the fruits in Jhinn are like the ones on earth as well. This allowed him access to a wider variety of food.Asther feasted on these. Filling his hungry stomach until he can’t eat anymore. He then laid his back on a tree and rested. Closing his eyes for a couple of seconds as he felt the wind’s breeze caress his skin.“If only that kid wasn’t so scared of the villagers, he would’ve found more food for him and his mother to eat.” The necromancer thought. “But then again, I can’t blame
“What is your name?” The female knight asked. The male soldiers immediately pointed their weapons at Asther. Something which the teen found to be a bit irritating after what he just did. Nevertheless, the expression on his face remained static as he began to approach them. Throwing down his weapons to show that he means no harm.“A thank you would be a better way to start this conversation don’t you think?”“What did you do to those bandits? Why did their corpses suddenly disappear?” The female knight continued.“Oh.” Asther glanced back and realized what has happened. He is still not used to the fact that his passive skill takes away the corpses of anything that he kills. True enough, the bandits aren’t there anymore. Instead, what’s left are a couple of items and coins.“This part of the forest has monsters inside of it. Nobody would willingly go here. Much less go through this area alone.” The female knight added. “Then there’s the fact that the bodies disappeared after you dealt w
“Are you sure that it’s okay for you to ride there sir Asther?” Claire asked the assassin who, decided to sit on top of the carriage.“It’s fine. This way I can have a better view of the surroundings. It’ll also be easier for me to kill anyone who attempts an ambush.”“It’d also be easier for you to give a signal to the bandits.”“Octavia.” Claire reprimanded, making her knight scratch the back of her head.“Fine.” Was all that Octavia said as she entered the carriage.“We’ll stop moving once it begins to get dark. You don’t have to worry about doing anything. My men will prepare a suitable sleeping space for you.” Claire added.“I appreciate the offer but, like I said, I already have my own things prepared.” Asther touched his bag with his left hand. It’s a good thing that Asther’s own camping spot isn’t far from where Claire and her guards were. This made it easier for Asther to get his things, all while the carriage was being fixed by the male soldiers.“Please, this is the least t
As Claire mentioned, the group only stooped once the sun was about to set. They chose to camp near the river. This is done upon Asther’s request. Something which Octavia didn’t like herself but, could do nothing about it since Claire willingly heeded to Asther’s request. As such the group rested there. The two male soldiers began to set up tents where they’d sleep in while Octavia began preparing food. Meanwhile, Asther is left with nothing to do. After all, he is specifically instructed by Claire to lay back and relax since this isn’t part of the contract he has been hired for.Asther took this offer willingly of course. Without getting distracted by these things, Asther can focus more on surveillance around the perimeter. But, even before he began this, he decided to use some of his time to gather some hints on the bonuses of his missions. Things which he asked Claire herself.“The bandits?” Claire repeated the words sounding puzzled about the question raised.“Yes. Do you know of a
“Boss!” Dylan screamed as soon as he reached the bandit hideout.Never has he been as excited in coming back there as he is at that moment. And why wouldn’t he? When he has just escaped certain death from a foe whose powers does not seem human. His heart still thumped loudly and, the bandits left in the hideout looked at him funny. Especially his boss. But Dylan doesn’t care. All he cares about is that he is finally safe. There would be punishment for him of course. But whatever this may be, as long as it isn’t death, the archer knows that he can take it. Being beaten up, cut, or not given food for a whole day. Dylan can take any of these. But before his sentence could be given, he first needs to deal with explaining everything to his boss. A man who began to walk towards him.Agathos. This is the alias used by the boss of the group of bandits since he has taken over the gang. Nobody knows what his real name is and, nobody dared dig into what this is. They’ve learned quickly after the
An inch, that is the space left before his dagger could reach Dylan’s throat. He immediately changed the course of his weapon. Throwing it outside the base as he dropped the unconscious bandit to the ground. The bandits didn’t understand what was happening. That’s why they looked towards the direction where the dagger went and, this finally cleared things up. All because of a teenager who emerged from the darkness, holding Agathos’ dagger in his hand.“To think that you’d notice my presence, I must say you’re quite impressive.”“You let Dylan escape and tailed him until he got here. I would say you’re smart but, showing your face to me? I think your idiocy is at an equal level.”“It’s only be idiotic if I end up dying.”“I guess that’s right.” Agathos leapt from where he stood. Just like that, he closed the distance between him and the intruder. His other dagger already in his hand and in striking motion. The teen dodged this attack easily which surprised Agathos. What surprised him e
