Chapter Five

The armed guy drove Maxwell down to his parents house.

He recalled how Wilson had referred to the guy as a dangerous guard.

"He'll take you to your parents and bring you back here before 8pm" Wilson said after walking in with the guy into the living room.

"Do not try to mess with him.. He's very dangerous " He said further and Maxwell nodded following the guy who led the way to a car park outside the building

The car was different from the previous one that brought them in.

He entered the back sit of the vehicle while the guy sat on the drivers sit.

Althrough the ride to his house, he was wondering how his parents would take the news of his leaving for an unknown period of time.

His worries were centred on his mother, she hated seeing him go through difficult moments.

The car took a left turn into his neighbourhood and in a few seconds, they were right I from of the old building why he had lived and grown all his life.

All the memories he ever had were in this house and that that moment he flet a sting on his flesh realizing that he'll be staying out of his home for a long time.

The car packed in front of the house and halted... He opened the door after the guy reminded him that he had only 30 minutes to spend inside before going back to the Wilson's mansion.

"I know that already... Please don't let my parents see you.." Maxwell said to the guy who only nodded and sat still on the drivers sit.

He took the front door and realized that the broken part has been fixed.

It must have been his mother's handwork, she was aways careful and her security guard in the house was a hundred percent.

"Dad..." He called out to his father as he walked into the small living room which was demarcated with a cutton from the other part of the room.

His dad was laying still in the same couch where he had left him and face was looking very sick.

He rush over to his father and hugged him tightly.

"Max... Are.. you al.. alright?" Justine stammered, his voice was shaky and weak.

"Yes dad, I'm fine..." Maxwell replied, holding his father's hand in his.

His mother pulled aside the cutton and rushed in when she heard his voice.

He let go of his father and fell into her farms in a tight embrace.

"Maxi..." Hannah called him in the usual way she always did "Are you okay... I was worried" She asked holding his shoulder with her left hand while running her right hand through his face. Her voice was calm but the tear she was fighting to hold back in her eyes were visible enough for Maxwell to see.

"I'm fine...mum, you do not have to worry" He replied touching her shoulder.

"I will be living for a while... Mr Wilson is willing to take off the loan completely if I do something for him" Maxwell said, staring at his parents faces, he could see the confused expression they both wore staring back at him.

"What does he want... you to do for him" Justine asked with a concerned look on his face.

Maxwell knew that he could not shut them out of his deal with Wilson so he went ahead to tell the what Wilson requested.

"Oh my God... Maxi you don't have to do it.." Hannah exclaimed, her voice was filled with fear and sorrow.

"I don't have a choice...mum" Maxwell replied. Tears was begin to cloud his eyes and he fought hard to stop it from rolling down.

He stared at his father who had been silent for a while.

"It's all my fault... I should have paid back the money before it accumulated so much" Justine managed to say almost in a whisper, his weak voice expressing regrets.

"No dad.. It's not your fault.." Maxwell replied, holding his hand lightly "We will go through this" He added in assurance.

"Mr Wilson has promised to get you a proper medical care once the deal is sealed" Maxwell said to his father. He looked at the time on the old wall clock that has been up in the living room since he was a child and realized that his time was almost out.

He didn't want his parents to see the guy in the car so that it's doesn't trigger their fear.

He hugged them goodbye and went of the room.

Hannah fell to the couch crying like a child while Justine tried to console her.

They were both going to miss him badly.

Maxwell walked into the care just before the timer hit thirty minutes and guy gave me a rather surprised look.

"I was checking.." Maxwell said to him while closing the door.

"Good.." the guy muttered "The sit belt..." He said to Maxwell pointing at the sit belt close to him.

Maxwell crossed the sit belt like his father had taught him while read a car driving guidebook he picked at his neighborhood when he was seventeen.

The guy drive on a higher speed than he did on their way there and Maxwell wondered why.

The arrived the Wilson's mansion a few minutes before 8pm and Maxwell could see Mr Wilson standing at the entrance doorway.

"Right on time..." Wilson said as Maxwell and the guy approached him.

"Your parents are fine?" He said further and like a statement than a question to Maxwell but nodded in agreement anyways.

Maxwell watched as the handed over the car keys to Wilson and went through the way that led to the back the building.

"We will visit my lawyer in Sacramento tomorrow and the marriage agreement will be properly signed" Wilson said walking into the living room and Maxwell followed behind him.

"After the signing, you'll meet with my daughter and I'll send a doctor to your father to commence treatment" Wilson said further and Maxwell nodded in agreement.

They meet two ladies dressed in same outfit standing in the living and Wilson introduced them to him.

"Matty will show you where to stay... She'll provide everything you need" He said and walked up the stairs.

Maxwell stared at him until he was out of sight and then he moved his gazeto the ladies who still stood there.

"I'll love a shower, please.." Maxwell finally said to the lady who Wilson referred to as Matty. He recognized her to be the same elderly woman who came to take his order earlier.

She nodded her head in response and smiled.

Maxwell stared at her and the image of his mother clouded his mind, he didn't realize when the woman walked out of the living room into the long corridor.
