Chapter Four

Maxwell was shocked to hear what Wilson said and he just stared at him in disbelief.

"Will you take the offer..." Wilson called out to Maxwell who looked obviously lost in shock.

"Yes... No.. Y, yes sir.." He stuttered, not sure of what his response should be at that moment.

"If you marry her and have a child with her, then I'll let go of the loan and your family will be free" He said in very assuring tone and for the first time in Maxwell's life, he had been given an opportunity to help his parents.

He sat still for some minute processing what he had just heard.

Marrying a lady who is older than him and who also have a phobia for men could be very dangerous for him.

"What if she stabs him or poison him or.. " All the thoughts kept flying through his mind.

"What will happen to his family if he refuse this offer... His sick father will die if he's sent to jail" The thought ringed in his heart and without this thinking further he decided to take the deal.

"You know it will be difficult for me to accomplish this... But I'll do my best" He finally spoke out after minutes of silence and thinking

"But... Besides taking off the loan, I want you to get my dad a proper medication and I'll do everything you want" Maxwell said in a bold manner but the expression on Wilson's face sent a little quiver to him.

"Hmmm...." Wilson muttered, his hand slowly reaching for the cigarette in his small box.

"Alright, I'll do that" He agreed without looking at Maxwell's face "As long as you'll do anything I want like you promised" He added.

"Yes, sir.. I'll do anything you want me to do" Maxwell said with a tone of sincerity in his voice.

"When do we visit my lawyer for the deal to be properly sealed?" Wilson asked standing up from the sit.

"I'll like to visit my parents first and let them know that I am alright... Then you can take me to your lawyer" Maxwell replied standing up from his sit too as the both walked out of the study.

"That's alright... But you will not be seeing your parent after the deal is sealed until you've fulfilled your own part of the deal" Wilson warned, his bold voice sending a signal of danger.

Maxwell knew that once he got himself into this deal with a man like Wilson, getting out of it alive may be very difficult but he had to agree because his family was all he cared about.

"I understand that, sir" Maxwell replied following him as the walked down the stairs back to the living room.

"Have a sit on a couch while I get you someone to take you to your parents and back here" Wilson ordered.

Maxwell took a seat on the soft and comfortable couch, his gaze were fixed on the beautiful paintings that hung on the wall down to the dinning.

He had never been inside a magnificent home like this before.

Even when he followed his father to trim flowers at the big houses in his neighbourhood, he had never entered inside any of the building before, he was always made to stay outside with his father.

The comfort of the couch where he sat on made him feel dizzy and he wished he could just lay down there.

His eyes caught sight of a beautiful piece of art careful place on the left end of the living room.

It was the image of a woman carrying a child and smiling beautiful at the child whose eyes was locked in that of his mother.

The image was skillfully carved on a wood and the color with which it was painted made it more appealing and beautiful to behold.

His attention was brought back when an elderly woman who wore a white gown with an apron and a matching cap stood before him.

He was startled at her sudden appearance but he manage to hide his shock.

"Hello, Sir.." Matty said to him wearing the beautiful smile of an elder woman.

"Hello.." Maxwell said almost immediately trying to catch his breath.

"Do you care for a drink sir..?" Matty asked noticing the uneasiness on the visitors face.

"No..no ma'am... I'm fine" Maxwell stuttered in response.

"Alright sir... Please let us know if you need anything" Matty said and took the dinning down through a door.

Maxwell was still trying to catch his breath from the startle he suddenly had noticing her presence.

He stared at her as she walked away from him and he thought about his elder mum who worked as a janitor and chef for some rich floks.

He imagined that it was his mother who had just came to take a guest's order.

The desire to see her and let her know that he's alright filled his soul, he knew without that that she'll be worried sick about him.

He's grown very attached to his parents and that was because they were the only ones he had in the world.

He had never heard his parents speak about any relatives or friends and was thought to stay away from the rich kids in the neighbourhood.

His parents were unable to enroll him in a school like other children but his father had been his personal teacher from childhood.

He was able to learn things above his age and his IQ was very applauding.

The remembered how his father carried him up on his shoulder the first time he read a complete sentence.

He was grateful for the love and care his parents showered on him despite being poor and he knew that he'll not regret taking this decision to save them.

The thought of letting his sick father go to jail was something he couldn't allow..

He decided to tell them about the deal when arrive home and let them know that he'll be back once the deal was over.

Just then, Wilson walked in with the same hefty armed guy that was sent to bring him here and out of fear he sprunged up to his feet watching as they approached him.
