This must be absolute madness. Whatever this virtual interface was, it must be looking for ways to annihilate him!!!If not, why would it suggest such a death sentence for him? He might as well walk to the Huggin bridge and jump off into the ocean and drown!
Touch her breast? What kind of instruction was that? The previous instruction he got when he fought the thugs was still plausible. But this?Aside from the fact that he would have to convince her to listen to him, would Theo really sit back and watch some wimp touch his daughter in such a way?!Even Cory was not dumb! He has seen how much Theo loved his daughter and what length he would go to make her happy.Cory might as well just sneak out right away.In the midst of the running and shuffling, he wanted to slip out.Suddenly, a group of doctors entered into the room. The henchmen who had gone to call the doctors walked in behind them, then shut the doors.Cory almost cursed out when the last henchman locked the door. Not only did they lock the door, but about eight of them stood guard by the door. The groups of doctors were quite surprised to see the henchmen standing at the door in such a manner. It would seem as though the henchmen were saying, "If you don't heal her, you have nowhere to go."It was at that moment that Cory realised how doomed he was."Lord Theo, we are at your service." The head doctor bowed at once."Save the pleasantries, Manuel. Focus on my daughter." Theo snapped."Definitely. We will do our best." The doctor assured."I hope your best is sufficient." Theo added. He didn't care about hiding his vulnerability. Instead, he shrouded it with threats. The head doctor instructed the other doctors to help Anna rest comfortably in the bed. Theo stepped out of their way, but his eyes were all over the place. The doctor started by using the stethoscope to feel the regulation of her breathing pace.He placed the instrument on several parts of her upper body to feel the rhythm. This would help him to come to a very reliable conclusion. He wouldn't want to dare make a mistake when the person in question was Theo. So, even if he was right on the first try, he would go again three more times until he gets uniform outcomes. The doctor finally stepped away from the bed, hanging the stethoscope around his neck."You don't have to panic, Lord Theo." He assured. "We will just pass some fluid into her body, and she will be alright."Theo stared at the doctor for a while."Get to job quickly then." He snapped. The head doctor ordered, and one of the attending doctors brought out a clean and neat syringe and needle. He took a small bottle that contained the medical fluid. He fed the syringe from the bottle and then fixed the needle at the top firmly. He tapped the tip of the needle gently about three times. He walked closer to Anna, who was breathing heavily in bed."This will hurt for a split second, but you'll be fine afterward." The doctor urged her as he rubbed the cotton wool that was dipped in a solution against the area of contact. After he massaged that area of her arm well, he drove the needle through her skin. She let out a yelp.At her yelp, Theo wanted to pounce at the head doctor at once but restrained himself. After all, all he wanted was the well-being of his only and precious daughter. The doctor stepped away from her. He looked very relieved as he stared at the calm face of Anna.He proudly and contentedly looked away from Anna to Theo. There was a lot of confidence scribbled in his face."Let's wait for only two minutes, and she'll be just fine. Her breathing pattern will be back to normal. But she would have to come here every three days for medication else -"Cough! Cough! Anna was at it again."Primrose." Theo scurried to her at once and held her.Anna continued to cough. This time, her cough became even more severe. She started to cough violently and with more strength. She suddenly became too weak to push another cough out. When next she struggled to cough again, she spat out that black stuff, but this time, there was blood all over it.When Theo saw this, his head rang. If felt like something heavy was dropped on his head.He moved closer to the doctor and slapped him across the face. The slap was so heavy that the doctor almost somersaulted."What do you have to say about this?" He demanded loudly, looking like he was about to do more than slapping."This should not have happened." The doctor was equally confused.According to his diagnosis, all he could see was asthma. As a doctor, although he has never seen an asthma patient spit out such a black substance, yet he knew that diseases and sickness evolve just like humans do.That was the same measure he had taken to combat the sickness. Things should have gone as planned. What went wrong? He couldn't tell."Forgive me, Lord Theo. I underestimated the situation. Instead of bland, I should have mixed the solutions." The doctor apologized, not minding the slap he had received. It would seem as though the slap was already a part of his life."You better have a solution to this." Theo warned."I will definitely make her feel better." The doctor promised. He believed in his skills. He was one of the best in the field in the country. He has won multiple awards. Of course, he should be confident in his skills."What if it doesn't work this time? What if it makes her worse?" Thoe asked."Cut off my head!" The doctor stamped.Although Theo was skeptical in the first place, seeing how bold the doctor was, he couldn't deny him the chance.Perhaps truly the doctor made a mistake in the first place.Theo nodded, and the doctor got to work. The doctor started to mix the solutions until he was convinced that it was the right time.He turned around and walked to Anna. Anna looked quite calm this time. He lifted her arm slightly and pressed the needle against her soft and supple skin."Enough!!!" A sudden voice called out of nowhere. The doctor was distracted, thereby scratching Anna with the needle, but the fluid went pumping in another direction. Anna yelped again. The startled doctor and disturbed Theo looked in the direction of the voice."You will kill her if you do that." Cory added, walking towards the doctor.Cory stopped when he got to the doctor. The doctor's hand was still shaking from the shock that came with the interruption. When a sudden voice had yelled, "Enough!", the doctor had thought that it was Theo. But now, seeing this scrawny youth standing in front of him, the doctor flared up in utmost rage."Who is this wayward lad, and when he did walk into the ward?" The doctor bellowed, glaring at Cory. Cory was not bothered. His face looked unusually calm. It was as though he was a new person. It was hard to tell what had gotten over him. "Where did you come from, and how the hell did you find yourself here? Did you know what you just caused? You just made me cut Miss Anna with the needle." The doctor yelled even harder at Cory. The more the doctor yelled at Cory, the more he wished that Theo would say something. The doctor had intentionally mentioned the cut on Anna's arm to further infuriate Theo and get him to act. It worked. Theo's eyes kindled rage when he saw the scratch o
"This cursed jerk!!!" The doctor suddenly exclaimed. "What the hell are you doing?!!"The doctor moved so quickly and grabbed Cory's hand, stopping it from touching the swell of her breasts. Anna opened her eyes when she heard the shout. Theo's eyes were already on fire. "What happened? What did he do?" Anna asked, looking quite clueless. She was the only one who had no idea what was going on. "I told you, Lord Theo. I knew that this jerk had nothing to offer. I can't believe that he really played his role well to fool you. I was right, Lord Theo. He only wanted to take advantage of her!" The doctor stamped, his honor and ego returning. "Do not spare him, Lord Theo. He has slapped you across the face. Not only did he enter into the ward uninvited, but he also almost assaulted your precious daughter. He also insulted our sacred profession. He deserves to die, Lord Theo." The doctor's grip on Cory's wrist tightened. Anna was sitting up in the bed now. She looked quite shocked to r
"When I'm done with you. You would wish you were never born!" A tough looking man growled at Cory, who was sitting in the backseat of the car. The car was driving at full speed. There were two other henchmen who were seated next to Cory. Cory was in between them. At the backseat of the car. The henchman who had just spoken was the one driving. "How dare you have the guts to do that!!! How dare you even think of it!!!" The driver got even more infuriated. "I should beat the living out of you." The henchman on Cory's left raised a fist. "Break his face." The other henchman who was on the rich urged. As the henchman brought his hand down towards the face of Cory, the driver suddenly pushed hard on the break, making the tyres screech.Everyone at the backseat was shoved to the front, The two henchmen hit their heads hard against the backs of the front seat, but Cory was fine. Cory should have hit his head too, but something unusual happened, and he somehow evaded the bump."Ouch! T
Following the fatal fate of the former driver of Anna, a new man had been assigned to drive her. She was not alone in the backseat of the car. Next to her was Cory. Cory couldn't have said no to her after she gave him such a face. He didn't want to look or sound mean. While the car rode through the road, Cory was looking in the other direction. Although he could not see anything through the window since the car was tinted, yet he pretended like he was. He could feel the heat from Anna's eyes heating up the side of his face. She was constantly looking at him. Anna wanted to start a conversation, but she was a little bit reluctant. There were a couple of things she could talk about following everything that had happened, but she didn't want to offend Cory. She was indebted to him for saving her life. "Where are you headed?" Anna finally found something. Cory slowly turned to look at her. "Oh, right. I'm headed to Shelton University." Cory replied. He was about to look away from
Cory was speechless when Anna did this. He understood that he had been kind to her and had saved her life, but what was this about? Although he respects her father and would never want to have any problem with the Great Theo, yet he wouldn't allow someone to take advantage of him. Looking at her face, he saw her looking very cute, her eyes were like puppy's eyes. That was the same face she had made when she had asked to drive him to school. There was something very tempting about that face of hers that he couldn't ignore. Realising that it was no use trying to get her off himself, he looked back at Sheiley and Harry. Harry looked quite shocked when he saw this beautiful and overly gorgeous lady. Although Sheiley was pretty and was an embodiment of beauty, her charm was nothing compared to Anna's. Comparing Sheiley to Anna was just like comparing the wings of a hen to that of a bald eagle. Miles apart. Harry was swept off his feet by the beauty that was standing in front of him.
It was quite obvious what Anna was trying to do. She was trying to stake a claim. The claim was that she wanted to prove openly that Cory was her boyfriend."Anna!" Cory could not take it anymore. He has been quiet all along because he understood what she was trying to do, but now he was clueless. He wouldn't let her drag him into something that he might regret later. "Come with me." He held her by the wrist and led her away from Sheiley and Harry. "What's all this about?" He asked, finally letting go of her. They were about a couple of distance away from the couple."I don't know what this feeling is, Cory." Anna answered, staring him in the eyes. "But I put my trust in you. I believe that you have the potential to become a great person if you allow yourself to break out of the barrier of the mind." Anna said. Cory didn't know what to say to this. He had asked her an entirely different question, and she was saying something else. "Okay. Thank you." Cory nodded firmly, not will
Harry felt glued to the spot. It was as though he was a rock. He couldn't move. He was frozen. The call he had just received was a detrimental one. A call that could change everything for the worst. He immediately tried to call his father back, but the call did not go through. His father had just called him to warn him to escape. The only reasonable explanation that his father gave to him was just about six words. "Lord Theo will not spare us." The words were still fresh in his mind. His heart started to drum emphatically. It would seem as though his heart would pop out, tearing out of the chest. He knew who Lord Theo was. Lord Theo was like a nightmare to any businessman in the country. No one dared to cross his path. So, just what had his father done to provoke Lord Theo? Is there any running away from Lord Theo? Even if you hide in the deepest of the earth, the ruthless underground Mafia Lord will dig you out without breaking a sweat. Sweat pooled at every corner of Harry's
To Cory, it seemed as though the more moments he spent with Anna, the more she tried to confuse him. For a split second, he could have thought she was trying to pull a prank on him, but looking at how serious and intentional her facial expression was, he realised that she meant every word she had just said. "Although you were able to detect the poison, how can we guarantee that I will be really safe henceforth?" Anna asked. "What do you mean?" Cory was trying not to miss the point that she was trying to stress. "My father owns so many thugs. In short, he owns a myriad of them. Yet the multitude of thugs he has couldn't protect me from the poison. Even I didn't know how I could have been poisoned, let alone the thugs." She went silent for quite a while. "You are the only one who found out about it. If I have you around me all the time, then I won't have to worry about my safety. Because..." She lowered her voice as she walked closer to him. She didn't want her driver to hear what
Anna could not understand what was happening. She had stepped to the front, away from Cory, to look closely at the man walking towards her. How could this be her father? She was about to lose her mind. At this point, she had no idea how she was still able to hold up her peace and not go nuts. This was just enough to make her question her sanity. "What's happening? How could this be ---" Anna turned to the back to ask Cory. She suddenly choked on the words. Turning around, Cory was nowhere to be found. It would seem as though he had vanished into thin air. She quickly rushed back into the hut to look for him but she couldn't find him. She ran outside again. She didn't know what to make of all these that were happening to her. She really did wish that she would have an explanation for it. "Did you see him walk out just now?" Anna asked her father, who had stopped walking right in front of the door of the hut. Lord Theo shook his head softly, taking a deep breath. The man slowly p
Anna choked so hard on her breath that she almost passed out. She had no idea what was happening or what had just happened. She couldn't wrap her head around it, let alone make a meaning of it. But it was real. She could see it right in front of her. There was someone who had just been sliced into several pieces. "Father..." She was having trouble rolling those words over. She couldn't even move closer to the corpse. The head was still hanging in the air. Thud! The head and neck dropped on the floor. She flinched, almost sprouting some unknown wings. She should move forward and touch the corpse. She should fall on the pieces of her father and weep her eyes out, but she couldn't. This was just way too much for her to process. She was trying to understand how this was possible in the whole wide world. How could it ever be possible? She could recall openly that she had left her father back at the mansion. The old man couldn't even move an inch, let alone get to her. She could see
Anna was lost in the moment and couldn't place her own emotions, not even after she had climbed into the car. It was a cab, and Cory had just hailed at the cab. What had just happened in the building was still very much fresh in her mind. There was no way she was going to throw that away or be distracted from it. She took a glance at the corner of Cory's face. Then, the glance intensified, graduating into a keen gaze. Cory, on the other hand, was staring at the front. It would seem as though she was not even there. "Are you not going to explain it to me?" She asked him eventually. Cory still would not look at her. She didn't want to act as though this meant nothing to her. She hated the fact that Cory was ignoring her. She knew that she could not force the words out of his mouth. He had to be willing, else her worries and questions would forever remain unattended to. The manner at which Cory was staring, Anna could deduce that there was something else on his mind. Although they
Anna was lost in the moment. She was just wailing over her own troubles and worries when a sudden voice had come out of nowhere. The back figure of the person walking away from her looked rather too familiar for her to ignore. In fact, she didn't have the luxury of ignoring anything at this point. How could she? Her door had been locked perfectly, and there were even men standing watch outside of the door. She didn't even hear the door open, let alone feel a presence until the words hit her. The recurring facts that ran all over the incident made her push her body up in the bed, as now she was kneeling in bed. "Cory?" She was skeptical as she called his name. She wanted to be sure that she was able to place her confusion and get squared up with the main matter; The real situation was the fact that someone familiar was in the room with her and had asked her to leave with him. Cory hesitated at the door and then turned to look at her again. When their gazes met, he saw a whole la
Standing in front of the heap of dead warlords, Cory shut his eyes and took in all the air of victory around him. He had to be sincere with himself. There might still be a lot of spiritual figures out there in the open waiting to cause another havoc or rain another wave of terror. He had never had any reason to be scared of them. Although one of the reasons why he had come to the island was just to be wary of them. Right now, after killing all these warlords, he couldn't help but come to a conclusion that even if he was running from trouble, trouble would still find him. Henceforth, the determination to carry on with this new level of task overwhelmed him. He had unintentionally unlocked another realm and phase of challenges that he could never let anyone else figure out except himself. All his life, he had learned how to keep such big secrets. How could he be referred to as the Immortal Dao if he didn't know how to be exclusive with some of the things that have been haunting him
Lord Theo, who was already exhausted from the errands and worries affiliated with the plot they were carrying out, raised his head slowly to look at his daughter, who was fired up by what she was saying. "What are you talking about, Anna? Please go back to bed. You need it." The man dismissed causally as though he had expected her to be up by now. At this point, Anna really didn't know what to feel. She wished that she would be able to choose her feelings, but she couldn't. There was a great measure of disappointment in what she was feeling at that moment. And there was something else, too. Something which she couldn't really reach. She wanted to sigh, but because she was huffing and puffing, she was even having a hard time catching her breath. "Answer my question, father." Her voice became even louder this time. She was trying to make it obvious to him that she wasn't here to joke around. She was here to talk about and review what was bothering her the most. It would be a great
Anna's eyes slowly opened. When her eyes opened, she felt fatigue, a pool of fatigue washing all over her body. She shut her eyes again to be certain what the problem could be. She slowly opened her eyes again, confiding in the act of precision and timing. Yet the feeling lingered. The fatigued remained. If there was anything, it even became heavier. She tried to roll in bed to the other side, but she felt extremely weak. She had no idea what was happening to her. Rolling on her stomach, she tried to heave her body to a comfortable position, but nothing seemed to work for her. She fell back on her face in bed and started to grunt. "What the hell is happening to me?" She muttered, seeking to understand what the problem might be. The moment when she rolled from one end of the bed to the other, things were beginning to ease gradually. The fatigue and weariness were beginning to wear off. This time, her mind was clearing out gradually. There was a room in her mind to house as many w
"We must go right away." One of the senators stood up and was headed towards the door. "I'm sorry we can't." The doctor suddenly stepped into the way of the senator. The senator looked so offended and pissed out of his mind. He was staring at the doctor as though the doctor was a piece of garbage who ought not to stand in his presence, let alone lift his gaze to look at him. He scoffed and turned to look at the rest of the senators behind him. "What the hell is wrong with these minions? Is it really our fault that we have indulged them and made them feel so comfortable in our midst?" The senator sounded very judgemental as he rolled those words out. He really didn't care that the doctor could hear him. The senators didn't care about anything at all. They don't care about other people other than themselves. As long as things are going their way, they wouldn't care less to do whatever they thought to be okay. "Now, move out of my way before I rip you into shreds!" The senator thre
Linda and her father were as still as a hill. They couldn't even make a sound. They couldn't see each other. Talking about seeing, Linda's eyes were drooping over her breasts at this point. It seemed as though the poison continued to lower the thread of the eyes down and down until perhaps it would get to the soles of her legs. This really didn't matter to her yet because the room was too dark for either of them to see each other. Before they were looked inside this room by the two hefty henchmen, they had seen clearly that it was super bright outside. It was noon. How come when they were locked in here, it was extremely dark? They had not been taken to an underground location. In fact, the underground location they had just come from was well lit and brighter than this. Although she couldn't use her eyes well, Linda could still tell this much that this was a very dark room. "Why is it so dark in here?" She asked her father, looking in the only direction she could afford. Down.
