Chapter 78

Everyone was speechless by what Cory had just said. Anna suddenly let go of him, her body quaking. She couldn't believe what Cory had just said.

Lord Theo's face was a mess of fear and confusion. For the very first time since Cory had known the man, he saw fear idling in the corner of the man's face.

It wasn't as though Cory was enjoying the view, but he couldn't tell a lie that he wasn't intrigued by it.

The monks suddenly turned around and started to leave one after the other. Cory caught a note of this and moved forward to stop them.

Cory understood what the monks were trying to do. The monks were trying to use what Cory had said as a sort of distraction so that they would escape.

Then Cory changed his mind. He was the one who had just announced that if nothing was done to help Lord Theo, the man would die in ten minutes. So it would be dumb of him to waste more time on these coward monks!

He just watched the monks go as the door opened and closed behind them.
