There was silence in the room for a couple of seconds. Silence from everyone. Anna was still on the floor being held by the maids. She slowly got up on her feet.

Even though she was on the floor earlier, she had seen her father's body heave towards the ceiling, then blood flying out of his mouth.

She had seen all these and was waiting for what next would happen when the silence hit all of them.

Even Cory himself was silent. His hands were still on the chest of the man. His gaze was lingering on the cold face of the man.

Anna was bidding her time. She was waiting for him to say something. She was waiting for the right moment to speak. She didn't want to be thrown at the wall again. She still feels pain after the first throw.
