Chapter 9

"You let me go," Azalea said as she took Gilbert's hand away, unable to contain her scream.

"I don't want this kind of life anymore. I've had enough. Nobody understands me. Everyone mocks me, and we both laugh at me!"

Azalea had suppressed her emotions for two years, but during that period, Everything exploded in a moment.

"Give me some time. All of this will change."

"I can give you anything you want," Gilbert replied, his tone serious.

After a brief silence, Gilbert added, "You better get up first."

Azalea wiped away her tears and ran into the distance, leaving Gilbert to gaze at the lake shore in front of him. "I will stand up, and all of this will change."

Meanwhile, in a business club in Texas City, someone addressed Mr. Cameron, "Please help my father with his illness." Despite our Kane family's medical background, a doctor cannot cure himself.

My father has a rare, untreatable disease. "We can handle that," Scott said, looking at Hayes with a pleading expression. "

Mr. Kane, why are you here?" Hayes asked. "In Texas City, there is a divine doctor.

"Why don't you seek help from him?" Hayes shook his head sadly.

"Is there a divine doctor in Texas City?" Scott asked, surprised.

Yes, I was surprised too. A divine doctor resides in Texas City," Hayes confirmed. Scott was intrigued and asked, "Who is this divine doctor?" Hayes nodded enthusiastically and revealed There was a small wooden box containing a broken pill. "He's the one who sent this pill," he said. "Mr. Cameron, you may not know this, but the Cadenn family made a spectacle of themselves two years ago. According to rumors, the fool has proposed to Azalea Cadenn, the family's daughter."

She belongs to the Cadenn family. Someone sent the pill. How could I be a divine doctor? Scott couldn't believe that a fool in a wheelchair could be a divine doctor.

"Do you know what this pill represents?" he asked.

Even if he's not a divine doctor, he must have a connection to one," Scott thought. Few people in the world can possess those pills.

"That's all I can say. Mr. Lamnont, you can figure it out yourself," Hayes said before leaving.

Scott pondered for a while before making a phone call.

"Get the car ready. I'm going to meet the Cadenn family," he instructed.

Gilbert sat on the shore of Texas Lake for a while before turning his wheelchair and heading home alone, just a few hundred meters from Azalea's house. Azalea felt comfortable leaving Gilbert alone there.

You've been taking care of him for two years already! You've done enough in some way!

As Gilbert returned to the yard door, he heard Mae's voice from inside. "I know," he replied.

Azalea's slightly stubborn voice chimed in. "You know? What do you think you know?"

If you're aware, why don't you just walk away?

Listen, I will never accept a disabled man as my son-in-law, let alone one who is poor to death! Mae, with one hand on her hip, shouted at Azalea.

"I'm not saying I have to marry him. I just want to take care of him."

Even though we're not engaged, he served our country. His disability was a result of fighting for our country.

"Because he is a hero, I feel obligated to take care of him." Azalea's tone was resolute.

"He is now disabled in both legs and unable to care for himself. If you kick him out, you're essentially killing him."

"I absolutely disagree!"

Azalea clenched her teeth and firmly disagreed with Mae's request.

"Well, the decision doesn't rest solely with you! It's a family decision involving all the Cadenn members, including the elderly Mrs. Cadenn."

The Cadenn family has upheld this decision for two years. We don't need you to return anything. However, since he's no longer welcome here, he should leave immediately! It's embarrassing to waste two years of effort on sending so much junk mail. It's better not to send anything at all!"

Mae's voice grew increasingly heated and loud as she continued.

"I don't want to argue with you. He's still out there, and I'm going to fetch him."

Azalea remained silent for a moment, then headed directly toward the door.

As the door creaked open, Azalea and Gilbert locked eyes.

You…" Azalea was immediately stunned when she saw Gilbert.

Gilbert observed that Azalea exhaled a breath of relief upon seeing him.

"Fool, how dare you come back?

Don't you know the pill you gave me was poison?" Mae Cadenn pointed at Gilbert's nose and scolded him with her hands on her hips.

"That just shows he doesn't know good value," Gilbert replied calmly, looking at Mae.

Azalea was surprised to hear this. She knew that Kane Medicine in Texas was a reputable company. If Scott said it was poison, it must be true.

Gilbert, how could you do that?"

Azalea's beautiful eyes were filled with shock and disappointment.

"It's not what you think." Gilbert frowned. "It's a wolf!

In the future, maybe I'll kill myself with drugs. It's better to get rid of it as soon as possible."

Mae snorted. She didn't hesitate to twist the truth and say, "Kane Medicine's judgment is absolutely correct."

"Gilbert, you've let me down. Even if grandma did something wrong, you couldn't do it," Azalea said, gritting her teeth.

"Are you kicking me out?"

Gilbert sighed lightly before asking Azalea.

"What you did broke my heart," Azalea replied without looking at Gilbert, her body trembling.

Mae remained silent, looking at Gilbert with pride.

"Finally, he is abandoning his family." I stayed in Texas City because of you. You know that?"

"If I leave, I won't come back."

Gilbert spoke seriously with his gaze fixed on Azalea.

"Go away. Get out of here," Azalea finally said, still not looking at Gilbert, her body trembling.

They had been together for two years, and even though Gilbert was just a fool, Azalea had some feelings for him.

However, Gilbert was determined to poison his grandmother. He couldn't bear the thought of her anymore. Suddenly, the sound of car horns interrupted his thoughts. Two Panameras followed a white Bentley in the lead. The luxury cars pulled up directly to Cadenn's house with a screech. Ten bodyguards, dressed in black, swiftly exited the vehicles.

"Mr. Huxley, please come with us," one of them said.
