8: When The Tables Are Turned (II)

"You should come sometime later after he's done with his shopping," the boutique manager told Chloe.

"What in the seven hells is wrong with you and this freaking place!?" Chloe bellowed at the top of her lungs.

People were already staring at her as if she had gone mad. Meanwhile, Liam had his hands in his pockets, taking casual steps toward the scene. And Gibson was right behind him.

"Ma'am, you're causing a scene. We don't want anyone inconveniencing our VIP.."

The manager didn't finish with this explanation when Chloe lunged at him with clenched fists, but Valante held her back.

"Let me go!" Chloe was struggling to break free when she immediately halted as if she saw the face of Medusa and got stilled like a stone.

"You?" She scoffed to herself and then disengaged herself from Valante's grip, "I can't believe you followed me all the way down here, stalker that much?"

"Believe me when I say I had no idea that I'd run into you and your boyfriend, Chloe," Liam scratched the back of his hair and offered her a small boyish smile, although his heart still clenched tightly because he still had feelings for her.

Valante left Chloe's side and pushed Liam, "You need to get it in your thick skull that she's done with your ass."

"And I don't want her either," Liam chuckled to himself, holding his hand up to stop Gibson from retaliating.

And his statement stung Chloe.

"I can see you're beginning to gain confidence, yet you still look the same," she gestured toward his poorly worn-out clothes.

"Okay, that's enough. I won't have you insult him," Gibson spoke up from beside Liam, whilst Liam put his hand on Gibson's shoulder, to refrain him from speaking further.

"Who are you?" Valante inquired with a suspicious glance.

"I'm his butler and he's my boss," Gibson said, moving over to stand right in front of Liam as a form of protection.

At this point, Chloe and her boyfriend stared at each other before guffawing in laughter like donkeys.

And Liam just shook his head with that small smile never leaving his face.

"Security!" Yelled the boutique manager, who had been quiet and observant the whole time.

"Throw this couple out, now!" He ordered when the security guards arrived.

The manager took a shot of Chloe and Valante with his phone, "You two were mean and disrespectful to our most valuable customer."

Chloe's jaw dropped at this and Liam just smirked, totally satisfied with the shocked expression on her face.

"-for that, you've been banned from coming here. I'd have your photo pasted on the walls for employees to see, so you'd be refrained from stepping foot in here," the manager deadpanned.

"You imbecile!"

"I'd have my men destroy this place!"

Chloe and her boyfriend were hauling insults at the manager as security held them.

"I suppose that's not right, Mr. Just let everyone shop as they want, it'd be unfair to chase them out and you might end up losing customers," Liam told the manager.

"But.." the manager was protesting when Liam cut him short.

"I insist, don't have anyone thrown out because of me. They're here for shopping like I am," paused to release a breath before continuing, "It's best to not treat people lowly because you feel they're inferior," he referred this more to Chloe than the manager.

"Are you sure about this?" Gibson looked at his boss.

And Liam nodded, throwing his fists into his pockets once more. No one knew what he had in mind.

"You should listen to my boss then, he gets whatever he wants," Gibson directed this to the manager who in turn asked the security guards to release the exasperated couple.

Liam raised his shoulders, pushed his hands into his pockets once more, and turned his back to both Chloe and Valante, before leaving.

Gibson followed suit and so did the manager who didn't fail to look at Chloe with distaste.

People were already interested in Liam, upon seeing the way he just behaved. And how he was literally being worshiped by the boutique manager.

"Who exactly is he?"

"He looks poor but he speaks like a wealthy person."

"He has an uncanny resemblance with the late Brandon Price, could it be that they're related?"

"Is he truly the one who we wanted to evacuate the shop for?"

Whispers were going on around and Chloe just scoffed and flipped her hair over her shoulder.

"Is this some sort of prank?" She questioned Valante, whilst fanning herself with her finger, "Liam is the VIP in this elite boutique? Someone who's still ragged and poor, with his toes sticking out of his rotten shoes."

"Something seems a bit off," Valante said with a squint and then hurriedly snapped his gaze in Liam's direction. Chloe did the same. They both watched as Liam was given an expensive biro-blue suit and then came out a few minutes after going into the changing room.

Liam knew he was being spied on by Chloe and her boyfriend like the FBI, it made laughter bubble in his chest.

Chloe was astonished to see how handsome Liam looked in a suit. She had never seen him wear something nice before. He even had a better physique than Valante. She wondered where he had such money from, or if he was just there to play a prank.

"Sir, this suit arrived only three days ago and there's only one out there in the world." The boutique manager informed Liam.

"Only one of them?" Liam touched the fabric to observe it.

"Yes sir, only this one. It's a rare kind." The manager pointed out.

"I'll have it!" Valante yelled and quickly went to meet with them, with Chloe by his side.

"You again?" Gibson couldn't believe these two couples could be so petty. He had had enough of them already, but Liam was enjoying everything.

"If he wants it, then he can have it," Liam didn't even cast a glance at Valante as he proceeded to check out more suits.

"It costs three million dollars," the boutique manager said with a wicked glint in his eyes.

And Valante's mouth gaped.

"Are you buying it or not?"

"Hell no, that's way too much money," Valante declined with a scowl.

"Then I'll have it," Liam was already at their side once more.

With dropping jaws, Chloe and her boyfriend followed Liam to the counter, where he paid for all his stuff, including the rare suit with his black card.

To say they were flabbergasted was an understatement.

"Watch out for flies," Liam said before side-stepping them. He was wearing the rare suit with a pair of new shoes. He even had some dark shades on, something which gave him a powerful and wealthy aura. He looked the polar opposite of the boy who had arrived in poor clothes earlier.

People were even gushing at how handsome he looked. And Chloe couldn't believe her eyes.

In the parking lot where Liam had his Black Chevrolet Corvette, employees were putting bags upon bags of the items he had bought.

"That's a Black Chevrolet Corvette!" Valante shouted in shock and unbelief, jerking his finger right at the car.

"And he has a black card," Chloe had her arms folded across her chest as she looked at the man who she had ditched, "What in the world is going on? Did he rob a bank or something?"

"How can he be so rich overnight? Buying an expensive suit of three million dollars when he was as poor as a church mouse, only just yesterday?" Valante stunned too.

Liam inhaled deeply before hopping into the shotgun seat of his car.

"Do you know them, young master Liam?" Gibson asked immediately as he hopped into the car to drive. He was referring to Chloe and Valante who were still outside, stretching their necks like giraffes to stare at Liam.

"No, I don't. I've never seen them before," Liam responded and bid them goodbye, with a wave of his hand.
