“What can’t you do?” Marcel asked without looking at Shirley, who was like a worm in heat.

“Yeah, you can’t!” Shirley was willing to put the shopping bags anywhere and chase Marcel all the way to the kitchen. “It’s nice that you don’t give me monthly money... don’t you remember the promise you made in front of my parents?”

Marcel ignored Shirley’s protests and chose to brew coffee.

However, Shirley’s hand reached out and deliberately snatched the coffee.

“You want to make me coffee? That’s cool,” Marcel commented with a flat smile. “You should do your duty first, then claim your rights as a wife—not the other way around.”

Shirley stomped her foot and threw the coffee into the trash.

“Are you playing me on purpose?” asked Shirley, not accepting it.

“What do you mean by playing?” Marcel replied, folding his arms across his chest.

“Remember your promise!” Shirley snapped, pointing at her husband’s face.
