Social media poisoned the well when it came to the natural urge to compare oneself to others. Being a doctor, my peers were naturally talented, especially when compared to poor old me. Fuck. I think I was probably the only one that didn't even bother with a specialty and just went straight to work as a general practitioner. I didn't have the time and patience for another couple of years of study, and I wanted out of my parents' house as soon as possible. I was good enough to be a floater, but I didn't know much in terms of the hyper-specialized stuff.

And now it's biting me in the ass so hard that a part of me kind of wanted to just disappear.
