The Orphan [III]

No one knows how deep the Cliff of Broken Hearts is. The entire cliff is carved with knives and axes, straight up and down, without any protrusions, and it does not look like it was formed naturally.

Ten feet down from the cliff, there is a thick white fog. You can't see your hand in front of you in the fog, let alone see what is under the cliff. It's like there is a secret, protected by a mysterious force, blocking all ordinary people from prying.

The clear sky gradually darkened, and dark clouds could be seen looming at the end of the sky. The mountain breeze brought with it a hint of moisture, causing the fog to swirl slightly, but was unable to disperse it.

The dark clouds between the sky and earth rolled in, with a roaring sound echoing. The dark clouds connected the sky and the earth, and were getting closer and closer in the blink of an eye.

Soon, the whole world fell into darkness. The sky seemed to have dropped a lot at this moment, and a strong sense of oppression filled the air.

Under this divine might, all birds, beasts, and humans returned to their own homes. For a moment, the entire world fell into deathly silence.

At this moment, a flash of lightning flashed in the sky, like a sharp sword, instantly cutting through the darkness and illuminating everything around. After a while, a rumbling thunder was heard. At this moment, thunder became the only sound between heaven and earth.

Amid the raging wind, there was a whimpering sound like the howling of ghosts and wolves. Drops of rain fell and began to nourish all things that had been ravaged by the scorching sun.

In a blink of an eye, raindrops as big as beans poured down, and the whole world seemed to be covered by a curtain of water at this moment.

In such a heavy rain, the fog suddenly became much thinner, and the scene below could be vaguely seen.

In fact, the Cliff of Broken Hearts is not as bottomless as people imagine. On the contrary, without the cover of fog, it is only thirty feet from the edge of the cliff to the bottom. It is only because it is shrouded in fog all year round and people don't know how deep it is, so they take it for granted that the Cliff of Broken Hearts is a thousand-foot cliff and thus stay away from it.

At the bottom of the cliff is a dense bush. Although it cannot bask in the sun, fortunately there is enough water. Each leaf of the bush is very broad, and the rain hitting them makes a tatting sound.

At this time, in the bushes, a young man in ragged clothes had his eyes closed and his body was purple and red. One of his arms was swollen and twisted to the side unnaturally, obviously dislocated.

The rain fell on the boy, washing his dirty body and also washing away the blood stains on his face, revealing the boy's true appearance. The boy was not that handsome, but he was delicate. However, his cheeks were slightly sunken and his skin was dry and dull, which was obviously caused by long-term malnutrition.

Under the stimulation of the cold rain, the boy's eyebrows trembled slightly and consciousness began to slowly recover.

The first thing that recovered was his hearing, followed by his sense of pain. However, if he had a choice, he would rather this sense never recover.

Almost at the moment when he regained consciousness, an unbearable pain was transmitted to his brain from every inch of his body, especially his dislocated arm, which hurt so much that he trembled and gasped.

After a full stick of incense had passed, the pain slowly subsided. Lynn didn't know whether the pain had really subsided or his nerves had become numb.

He opened his eyes with some difficulty, turned his head and looked around. Through the rain, he could vaguely see the cliff above his head. He immediately understood what was going on. A trace of anger flashed in his eyes, and he muttered. "Kaia, I, Lynn, will remember today and seek revenge."

Living alone for so many years has made Lynn develop a strong will and ruthlessness that is inconsistent with his age. Otherwise, it would be difficult for him as an orphan to survive in this cruel world.

After feeling it, he found that except for his arms, although other parts of his body were injured, there were no broken bones. This made Lynn secretly relieved.

He tried to get up, but the movement affected his entire body, and the pain that had just subsided surged again like a tide, causing Lynn's body to tremble even more violently. At this moment, the fierceness that had been integrated into his bones burst out, and Lynn stood up despite the severe pain.

When he stood up, he immediately felt dizzy and his body unsteadily collapsed to the ground again. Then, he felt weak and his stomach made a loud noise.

Lynn shook his head, and after a while the dizzy feeling disappeared, but the feeling of weakness in his body became more and more intense.

"It seems that I have been unconscious for almost four days." Lynn muttered to himself. This is a unique method of measuring time that he developed due to frequent hunger. It is based on the degree of hunger and physical weakness.

Taking a deep breath and looking around but not finding anything edible, Lynn immediately struggled to stand up and staggered forward.

Streams of water flowed along the depressions of the earth. The earth became muddy under the rain, making the road difficult to walk on. Lynn's shoes were missing. He walked barefoot and stepped on sharp gravel from time to time.

Soon, Lynn's feet were covered with scars. Blood flowed from the wounds and merged with the rain into the earth. Lynn ignored all of this. At this moment, there was only one thought in his mind, which was to find food as soon as possible.
