Andre's Memory Had Returned

"At first, Andre wanted to meet around the city center, but it seems Sofia had different plans.

That evening, Andre and Sofia met at a suburban bar on the outskirts of the capital. Sofia reasoned that this place was far from the crowd, allowing Andre to escape the surveillance of the Randana Family and the Rockshaw Family.

"Ssshh..." Andre groaned, suddenly feeling a headache as he looked at the bar. It was as if the bar was a fragment of his past memories, a puzzle piece.

"Why? Why is my head hurting? Damn it, so many strangers passing through my head?!"

In a déjà vu moment, Andre vaguely remembered the men sitting in the right corner.

Not only was his head spinning, but he also felt a tightness in his chest, especially when he saw the beautiful bartender just delivering a glass of vodka to his table, as if a strong memory was nesting in his head.

This should have been Andre's first time at the suburban bar, but he felt so familiar with it.

For instance, when he was waiting for Sofia and needed to use the restroom. Even though there were no signs for the restroom, Andre just walked toward a room in the right corner of the bar.

Five minutes later, Sofia arrived with a man dressed in all black. The man introduced himself as Lubis.

"Headache, huh?" Sofia initiated the conversation. "This bar holds many memories from before you lost your memory."

"S-So..."

"Correct," interrupted Lubis. "The bar you see was once the secret headquarters of the Gold Dragon in this land."

"How is that possible? As far as I remember, this is my first time here. I live in the capital. I hardly ever visit the borders, let alone shady bars in the middle of this warehouse."

"Sofia will explain it to you," said Lubis.

Sofia, with an enthusiastic expression, began telling the story from three years ago—the ambush that caused Andre's memory loss.

Three years ago, when the underworld mafia groups in the capital started causing chaos, the ruler suffered significant losses and sought help from the Gold Dragon to solve this case.

However, surprisingly, the group suddenly knew that the ruler sought the Gold Clan's help and threatened to kill a beautiful model and the richest billionaire's child in the capital, the Tatumia Family.

The Tatumia Family from the Central Province was informed by the ruler that they were under threat, and the Gold Dragon was asked to guard the Tatumia Family for three days.

Strange, truly strange. The mafia group knew the ruler's plans.

However, not a single Gold Dragon guard was allowed to disclose this task to anyone, not even their own families.

Until it was revealed that one of the Gold Dragon guards betrayed them. They leaked the plan to the mafia boss, which enraged Andre, leading him to confront the traitor with his two private guards.

It turned out to be a trap. Andre and his two guards were surrounded by dozens of mafia members, some skilled in martial arts.

Initially, Andre and his guards managed to defeat their enemies. However, on their way back, someone was hired to crash into Andre's car, making it seem like a regular traffic accident.

Andre's two guards suffered serious injuries; they died due to blood loss.

With godlike strength, Andre managed to survive, although his body was thrown far, his head hitting a concrete wall in the warehouse. And that tragedy caused Andre to lose his memory.

"No! I can't easily believe that, especially since I've just met both of you." Andre lifted his head, staring sharply at Sofia.

The expressions of Sofia and Lubis changed from initial happiness to instant disappointment. "So, what do we have to do for you to believe our story?"

"I need to see it: CCTV footage, or a video of me fighting your fabricated mafia. I have to see it with my own eyes! Or, if you're not willing, I'll find out all the evidence myself."

"We need your help. The Gold Dragon has been waiting for three years for you to return and lead them. You're needed, Ndre, you're the legendary soldier we've been waiting for. Please, return to the Gold Dragon!"

Seeing Sofia's expression, Andre felt no pity at all.

Lubis, doubtful that this plan would work, immediately whispered to Sofia, "We're moving to plan B. His stubborn nature is just the same as before. He'll never believe that story without clear evidence."

"I don't mind if you don't believe the story. But, I ask one more thing..."

"Say it!"

"Come with us. Both of us are committed to restoring your memories, no matter what it takes. There's one person we trust who can help you remember your past."

When asked to lead the Gold Clan again, Andre refused. However, strangely, when Sofia invited him to meet someone, Andre, without hesitation, accepted the invitation.

Sofia and Andre set off to meet a skilled therapist named Jessica. Meanwhile, Lubis had other matters to attend to.

It turned out that Jessica was a sassy and attractive woman whom Andre had pursued in the past. She worked under Andre's leadership in the Gold Dragon.

Jessica was upset with Andre, especially since he lost his memory. Back then, Jessica had started to develop feelings for Andre.

As soon as Andre entered the therapy room, Jessica greeted him with a hard slap that made his lip bleed.

Andre was shocked, his fists clenched, his emotions suddenly provoked.

Sofia elegantly explained to Andre that the slap was the initial stage of his memory recovery therapy. Surprisingly, Andre believed her just like that.

"How long will it take? What's the success rate of this therapy?" Sofia whispered to Jessica.

"About two hours. As for its success, I can't be certain yet. But I'm very confident, an 80 percent success rate. Andre's memory will surely return."

"I trust you, Jess. Since joining the Gold Dragon, your performance has never disappointed."

During those two hours, Sofia was anxiously bowed down in front of the therapy room. Her teeth were grinding, worried that the therapy might fail, and Andre would return to being an ordinary man, forgetting his past.

Anxious? Definitely. But she always hoped the therapy would succeed, and Andre would agree to lead the Gold Dragon again.

Shortly after, Jessica emerged from the therapy room, wearing a happy smile. That was enough indication that the therapy had been successful.

They hugged each other, then entered and approached the bed where Andre lay.

"How was it?" Sofia asked.

"I feel like your story earlier made sense. I remember bits and pieces, but it's still vague."

Jessica then explained, "Indeed, your memory hasn't fully returned. It takes time for all the pieces of the puzzle to come together neatly. It won't take long, but you have to be patient."

The three of them sat relaxed in front of the room, chatting for a while, and Andre remembered something.

He had to quickly handle the divorce with Intan and no longer deal with the Randana Family. He was fed up with all the insults and disparagement they hurled at him.

Before leaving, Andre confirmed again with Sofia and Jessica, "What will the Gold Clan do after this?"

"We'll get in touch with you when needed," replied Sofia.

Andre bid farewell and returned to the Randana Family's villa.

The glances of the two gatekeepers made Andre frown. "They're rarely cynical; usually, they welcome me as the Randana Family's son-in-law, even if I'm just a worthless son-in-law."

Andre walked to the villa's front door.

Anyone entering had to use a physical key or input a code placed on the right side of the door. However, when entering the code, it flashed red, indicating the wrong code.

"Since when was the code changed? Ah, damn it!"

Not wanting to wait too long, Andre pressed the doorbell, but there was no answer.

"I'm about to break free from the Randana Family, but why make it difficult?!"

Andre repeatedly pressed the bell with his index finger as fast as he could.

Martha, irritated by the ringing bell, came out and opened the door.

"Do you know what time it is?! Even beggars know when to finish begging. But you, useless one, disturb the sleep hour too!? Go away quickly, I don't need a son-in-law like you!"

"Calm down, soon we won't meet. I'm here to sign the divorce papers that your family offered earlier."

Andre was no longer afraid. The burden of thoughts about Suci's medical expenses and the Randana Family's promises of money were nothing.

Andre's memory had returned. In his mind, the Randana Family was nothing but a pest that needed to be eradicated.

"Oh, dare to oppose me?" Martha, with all her anger, swung her right hand, intending to slap Andre.

Usually, Andre wouldn't dare to fight back, but this time was different. Andre, as quick as lightning, grabbed Martha's hand, leaving the woman startled.
