Almost everyone was inside the building having a good time. “You know Ethan, you really outdid yourself with this event,” Gerald Hayes, the former mayor of Newcrest said.

Ethan smiled, gesturing towards his assistant. “She was in charge of most of the planning, so the thanks should go to her.”

Natasha shot a polite smile towards the ex mayor.

“So tell me more about this beacon. You call it the beacon, right?”

The legion commander nodded. “It's actually a dream of my father Howard. When I was little he always talked about the vanguards owning one of the biggest buildings in the country. It was something he would say in passing, but I'm glad I'm able to bring it to life today.”

Gerald took a sip of his champagne, “so this is like a tribute to him?”
