Chapter Thirty-Four

She was taken aback. She dropped the piece of broken painting she held in her hand unknowingly due to what she just heard.

"I'm…I'm sorry…" She stuttered nervously. "I can't let you pay for this mess I made… I broke the painting, it's all my fault for being so graceless"

"How much is the painting?" Aidan asked again, this time around with more conviction than the first time he asked.

The girl gaped down at him, raised her brows, and squinted her eyes at him before huffing out a sigh.

"My boss sells these paintings for ridiculous amounts…" She dragged her words. "I wouldn't want to impose the expenses of my missteps on you"

Aidan inclined his head upwards, took his fingers, and pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a frustrated sigh. He rubbed his face and looked at her.

"I'm still waiting"

She muttered to herself, doubting Aidan would pay for the painting even though he was smartly dressed up in the best suit she had ever seen. It must cost a fortune to wear that kind of suit
