"You are amazing, Hearthe!" Caesar bent over to pat its head and spoke softly.
Hearthe understood that it was just praised by its father and its eyes shone brightly while its long tail behind started dancing excitedly at this sudden praise; though it did not understand what its father just praised it for.
It did not care, for all it wanted was its father's recognition and also his happiness.
Caesar's smile widened when he looked at Hearthe's dancing body.
"Okay! You play around here. I will go inside and rest for a while. Alright?" Caesar asked Hearthe, to which it obediently nodded its head.
"Good girl," Caesar once again praised her to show his appreciation towards her obedience.
He went back inside and thought to rest for a while but when he looked to the side he found a few small bags filled with seeds of many types.
Before, he never cared about them because the soil in his backyard had turned useless long ago and thus there was no need to use these seeds ever again.
But now that he had Hearthe, he smiled. It has been so long since something good had happened in his life. And all these were because of his newly born baby.
He took the bag of seeds and brought them back to the backyard.
As soon as his leg touched the ground, he felt Hearthe spiraling around his ankle like an anklet.
He looked down at his leg and found that she really looked like an accessory to his leg.
He felt that she was really cute like this and chuckled.
He did not make her leave his leg and slowly walked forwards. He was careful enough to not hurt Hearthe with each and every step.
Then he started working on all the seeds he had.
Though he wanted to rest, when he saw Hearthe, he felt energetic. He really wanted to see if all the seeds he had would be able to grow in this useless land with the help of the powers of his Hearthe.
As he worked on them, Hearthe looked on for a couple of minutes before she understood what her father wanted to do.
She then removed her body from Caesar's ankle, before she started helping him.
She could very easily dig up the soil, allowing Caesar to finish his work sooner than the time he was supposed to take.
Within an hour, he finished all the work before he stood straight and stretched all his muscles.
This time he really was exhausted, though Hearthe was the one who had done most of the work.
Hence he once again greeted Hearthe, before he went back into the house to take a nap.
Maybe because of the hard labor he had done just now, as soon as his head touched the pillow, he fell asleep.
He did not know for how long he slept before he woke up naturally and looked outside the window to find that it was almost dark.
He got out of the bed slowly before he heard his stomach growling with hunger. Once he got out of bed, he recalled that he was now no longer alone but had Hearthe with him.
Yes, he has not fed his baby since the time of her birth. Is she alright?
Oh no! What should he do if something happened to his baby because of his irresponsibility?
As soon as he thought that something might have happened to Hearthe, he did not care about his hunger and ran outside in search of his baby in a hurry.
He was really scared as he frantically looked around but as soon as he came to the back yard, he found that something was different.
Could he even say 'something'? It should be 'everything', right?
His backyard, which had been bare for a while now, was no longer the same.
The ground that was once full of weeds and wildflowers was now filled with greenery.
Not any random greenery like the weed green. Instead it was full of vegetation.
Every single seed he had planted before he fell asleep had now come alive.
There was no longer any bare land but instead there were only plants, trees and they were covered with colorful flowers and fruits.
The aroma of the beautiful flowers and delicious fruits filled the entire area.
It was like a naturally made room freshener that made the entire air smell lovely and also tasty.
If there was any man that was suffering from hunger, he may feel his stomach filled with just taking in the scent of this air.
Caesar couldn't help but blink his eyes multiple times to check if he was looking at reality or if he was just hallucinating.
"How long did I sleep?" he asked himself out loud.
There are a few trees that would take a few years to grow to their full sizes but he could already see them standing fully grown in his backyard.
"I should be hallucinating."
"I should be hallucinating."Otherwise, how could he accept that it was reality? How could a tree that was supposed to take a few years to grow be grown in a span of a couple of hours?"Or did I sleep for a few years?" He couldn't help but ask himself. He looked around and after getting a few clues about everything, he came to the conclusion that a few years did not pass like he had thought. It was really just a couple of hours and nothing more that he took to finish his nap.He then came back to his senses. He was not supposed to look at the plants and trees that grew in his backyard at this moment.Everything should follow a certain list of priorities. And now, his priority should be to look at Hearthe and check if she was alright or not.Did she eat anything or not?He couldn't help but worry when he thought of his cute and adorable baby.He then walked into his newly made farm and searched for Hearthe all over the ground. Since there are many plants and trees, it became a real dif
"Hmm, I have a strong baby."Hearthe understood that her Father praised her again and couldn't help feeling happy. It once again started dancing using its long body, making Caesar laugh at her."Grrr…" The father daughter duo froze in their spots as soon as they heard the growling.Caesar was embarrassed at the sound and he lowered his head to look at his stomach that just made the sound.Hearthe, on the other hand, felt worried for her father and crawled to take back the piece of legume root that she spat away just a minute ago.She took the root and presented it to her father like a treasure as if saying, 'Father, eat this and be healthy'."..."Caesar did not know if he should laugh or cry. He looked at the root in Hearthe's mouth, which looked as slimy as his daughter and extended his hand.To not make his daughter feel upset, he wanted to take it, but in the end he couldn't bring himself to take it from her.He softly spoke to Hearthe, who looked confused by why her father did no
Caesar couldn't bear to see the crack on the wooden wall that she had selected for him specially. He thus looked at Hearthe and asked her softly, "Hearthe, do you have any idea how to make this one better?"Once he asked he somehow felt stupid. How could Hearthe do anything about it?If it was a plant or a tree, she may help. But this was just a wooden plank that was already cut off a tree so many years ago. How could any of Hearthe's powers be helpful with this?He shook his head and softly said, "It's okay. Don't mind me. I just asked a stupid question."Hearthe had already crawled up the wall and started circling around the crack when he looked at her after speaking. As he was looking at what she was doing, he saw a few small pieces of branches- or rather vines, considering the thinness of them- sprouting out of the wood on the wall. All the vines started moving and combined themselves. It looked like they were gracefully dancing to a melodic music as they entangled amongst themsel
Though he was angry, he did not say anything back about it.He was visibly wary of Caesar during his conversation while also showing a hint of displeasure towards him.He clearly had a contradictory attitude towards Caesar that anyone would have been confused looking at him."There is an accident at my home," The neighbor said."Do I look like I care?" Caesar asked back. Why did this weirdo come to complain about some accident at his home to him?The neighbor was furious at his attitude again, "Who asked for your stupid care?"Caesar really did not want to deal with this stupid man any longer. Without saying anything, he pushed his door in order to close it on the other man's face. Before he could accomplish the task, the neighbor placed his leg in between the door and pushed it using his body making it difficult to close it.Now it was Caesar's turn to be furious as he roared out loud, "What do you want?""Why are you closing the door to my face? I have not finished talking yet.""If
He did not notice Caesar's expression which was darkening every time he addressed Hearthe as a 'pet'.How could a random man address his lovely and adorable daughter as a mere pet?The neighbor, however, did not mind nor care about the lack of reply as he continued looking around in search of the so-called new pet that Caesar had got. After all, there are more than eighty percent of chances that this pet was the one responsible for destroying the compound wall of their house. The wall, which had always been the best background one could get for his picturesque garden, was now rammed into, almost broken and was full of cracks making it look gruesome. To make his garden look even more beautiful, he had called the best painter in the town nearby and got him to paint with beautiful and exotic plants and flowers all over it.After paying so much money, his wall made the perfect background for his garden.Yet today once he got home after work, he found it shattered with a few pieces of bric
"Do you see that?"Caesar tilted his head sideways and looked at him innocently, "What do you want me to see?""..." Is he the only one who is worried about the wall? Why can't this man give a better reaction? The neighbor really did not understand the thoughts of Caesar."Just look at the wall. It is very clear that it was destroyed from your side. Don't you have anything to say?" The neighbor asked in exasperation.Caesar lazily looked at the wall, which was very clear to any naked eye that it was rammed into from this side of the wall, before he replied with a very very lazy, "Ohh.""..." The neighbor was dumbstruck by the lack of reaction from the man, "Ohh? What do you mean by ohh? Are you an idiot?"To his furious question, Caesar didn't even care to reply as he casually looked at all the trees and vines around him. He looked very proud when his eyes were on them as they reminded of the powers of Hearthe. The neighbor felt like he was punching a cotton wall, when he saw the lack
Dark. That is what Caesar saw through his eyes. The anger in his heart made him unable to look at anything else but dark. How dare this man call his adorable daughter 'ugly'?How could his cute daughter and the word 'ugly' stand in the same sentence if not for describing antonyms? The veins in his hand started protruding as he clenched his fist tighter recalling how the weird man spoke about his daughter. The neighbor, being silly and weird that he was, did not observe the changes in Caesar's reaction and continued speaking his heart out, "Where did you even get this weird thing from? It looks not only ugly but also creepy. One look at it and one would lose their sleep for so many nights. How were you able to sleep at night after getting this thing as a pet, huh?"Didn't you get nightmares? If I were you, I would have killed this thing long ago, burned it and threw its ashes in the toilet so that my eyes would become cleaner. Let me give you some friendly advice, alright? Just kill th
"Sorry? If you say a simple word of sorry, would the hurt you gave my daughter's heart be lessened? How could one word be enough to relieve my daughter's suffering, huh?" Caesar did not budge with his words of pleas and asked back. The neighbor is not in a position to think of anything at this moment. His hearing was already lost and was on the verge of losing consciousness.Looking at his struggle, Caesar's heart felt a sense of satisfaction. How dare this man speak such ill words about his lovely daughter? This is the punishment for anyone who spoke a word against his daughter. The hate he had towards the man continued increasing as he recalled all the words the man just spoke.'Kill Hearthe? Burn her? Throw her ashes in the toilet?'Every word came back to his mind and his blood continued to boil with anger. He couldn't hold himself and he forwarded his hand to hold his neighbor's neck himself. The vines naturally gave way for Caesar's hand over his neck and Caesar's hand squeezed
