"No wonder Mr. Thompson hasn’t been seen by public eyes these days. This is really bad!" Peter wondered inside of him. But he tried his best not to judge, it wasn't his fault after all.
He was keen on making Mr. Thompson well, this time around not really because of money but out of his love for helping people, according to news, Mr. Thompson hasn't been able to rule his company effectively for a while, Lisa has been the acting CEO kept in his place for the meantime. Peter wanted to use this chance well. This was a great privilege.
"A lot of doctors, both foreign and local had been employed to treat him, but none could, some say surgery would be needed while others say it's pre-cancer symptoms. No one says anything positive.
"Oh. So why do you believe in me?" He asked her, curious. Why she believed in him if the expert doctors could not do it.
"Because your wife told me about you, giving me so many cases you've successfully treated for free!" He was a bit down, upon seeing that it was his wife who recommended him to such a great opportunity in his life, should he gain anything great later on in the future, it would be because of her.
This was his chance to compensate himself for the many people he treated in the past who ended up not giving him anything after settling their challenges.
Joel cleared his throat to get his attention. "Tell me, which college of medicine did you attend?" He was still doubting Peter.
"I didn't go to any special college of medicine but even those who went couldn't treat Mr. Thompson's case!" This silenced Joel
The next moment, he felt a warm touch over his shoulders, in the bit of a caress. "Don't worry, no matter the opposition I stand with you." Lisa assured. This gave him joy that at least someone believed in his natural skills.
They weren't done speaking when the door opened and the immediate younger brother of Mr. Thompson walked in, behind him were three huge and revered doctors in the hospital. They could be detected from their stethoscope and the medical report files in their hands.
Lisa's heart wasn't in terms with Shawn right from the beginning, but Joel trusted him so much after his father. She raised her eyes in a sinister way and stared at him as he emerged, the doctors stepping to his side.
"What do you guys want here?" She questioned them.
"Who's this young, tattered man here. I'm sure he must be from the streets. What's such a person doing here?" Shawn barked, staring deadly at Peter.
"Are you insane, are you out of your senses? First of all, why should you respond to my question with a question and why barking at him? You know him from somewhere?" Lisa asked rudely.
Peter couldn't believe that Lisa was actually speaking for him. Someone that he just met today.
"Lisa, why would you talk to our uncle this way?" It could be seen that Joel was angry. He was fuming inside seeing her sister talk to his favorite person like this. What pained him most was that she was defending a poor, broke guy.
"Will you shut your mouth right there, have you forgotten I'm your elder sister!"
"Since when did you start the bossy lifestyle, because of this wretched guy? So sad!" He shrugged his shoulders. Peter stared at him so seriously, wishing he wasn't related to Lisa, he would have replied to him so badly.
"I can't let you bring such a person to treat my brother, who knows of his intention? He might even kill my brother" Shawn said. Peter gasped in shock, withdrawing back at such a statement.
"Excuse me, madam Lisa," one of the doctors who came with Shawn said, trying to get attention from Lisa by stepping forward a bit.
She turned to look at him sternly. "What is it?" She asked.
"Do you know this man personally from somewhere?" He asked courtly.
"No." She replied.
"I'm sorry to say, I was just bothered about the way you have faith in him and because of him you're quarreling who your own uncle." The first doctor laid his accusation.
"What an accusation?" Peter shrugged his shoulders. He saw that Lisa began a quarrel with her uncle as soon as he stepped, it wasn't because of him.
"Madam Lisa," Peter decided to behave formal as others were around. "The treatment ought to be started as soon as possible, delay is dangerous in his case from my own level of assessment."
"Oh right, begin the treatment process!" Lisa gave him her orders.
"I'm a senior doctor who has worked for over thirty years in the hospital. What are the instruments he will be using to handle this treatment or are you using your hands?" The same doctor questioned.
"This is serious?" The second one muttered to himself.
"Well, it's a natural technique I'm going to be applying. But wait, I heard some doctors who were here used all of those medical tools, yet were not able to achieve their goal. Do you still think I need all of those to show my capability?" He asked them with all boldness.
"One word again from any of you and you will be kicked out of this room!" Lisa barked at them, as she was getting angrier. They all kept mute.
"Let me give you a final warning, I wouldn't say anything after this so you wouldn't tell me how senior you are to me," Joel told his sister.
"Should anything happen to Dad, you and especially him would be held responsible!" He pointed his fist at Peter. "As for him, even killing his entire generation would not be enough to repay for my father’s life!" He added, then stormed out of the room.
Though Peter was still confident in his skills, he felt it was needed he withdrew on time, he didn't want any further accusations from the family members. "These people wouldn't believe me no matter what I do, it's best I withdraw now!" Picking his phone, he was about to leave. Lisa sensed this, she became unhappy. "Please begin the treatment, you don't have to mind all these bunch of fools!" She said, trying to make him stay. "If it was just you, I'd stay but I'd like to fulfill their wish so that they might have peace of mind." He insisted. "And I insist," the senior doctor said. "He should leave. If you like you take it, if you don't like it, you leave, madam," he said with a very serious face. "From the facts I've derived about Mr. Thompson's condition, it's a sign of cerebral palsy. He would be bedridden for life if he doesn’t get a surgery in two weeks." Joel was back into the room without them knowing. "I know what she's trying to do, she wants Mr. Thompson to die so she
Peter tapped Mr. Thompson gently behind his right ear and then his left ear, twice. He began to massage it slowly, people standing around wondered why he was doing, especially the doctor that said he would kneel before him should he revive Mr. Thompson."What's this fool doing here, let him get out of here. He's only going to compound issues!" He moved forward to push Peter off the side of Mr. Thompson's bed but Lisa came up in front of him, standing on his way and giving him deadly stares."If you go near him again, I'll fight you!"For Lisa to sound this way, they knew it was serious and all retreated."Why are you always bent on causing confusion here?" She talked back at him.The doctor tried to avoid the gaze. Everyone's attention once returned to Peter and Mr. Thompson, when they watched his heartbeat and pulse, it was reversing back to normal. The next moment Mr. Thompson was seated on his bed, calm and quite thoughtful."What's happening? What happened to me?" Peter was so gla
Lisa was the happiest person in the world. She could even give peter the world if she had the power. Since she did not have the power to, she had to settle for what she could give him.She could not stop thanking him, even though he told her not to anymore. One of the things she gave him was gold wrist watch with diamond and topaz stones on it.“You really do not have to.” He said to her. “I can not simply wear this on my poor skin.” He said to her.“You deserve this and so much more!” she assured him.At that moment, two black Lexus swept by. They blocked the black G-wagon in the front and rear. More than eight men got out of the car, looking so tall and rugged with eye patches like sailors of ancient days who were believed to have lost one eye. They approached the car, armed with weapons, and others with covered faces. A bald, burly man who seemed to be the leader set his foot on the wagon's bonnet.Brandishing his knife, he threatened, “Miss Lisa, my boss wants to meet you. We will
“Lisa, you need to be more cautious next time. All bad things happen in just a day!,” Peter warned.“Kann Ben is just a crazy bastard. However, he has strong allies backing him up. I’m not going to do anything about this yet. I'll plan well before going to ask him what's going on!"Lisa narrowed her eyes. It would be rash to attack right now. She would take all of them down in one blow with Peter!“As long as you have a plan, that’s alright.” Peter nodded."Peter, you've done so much, more than expected, I have no way to pay you back.” Lisa fluttered her eyelashes sexily, running her hand through her hips.“It’s no trouble at all,” Peter replied carelessly.“No, we owe you too much! I must return the favor!” With that, Lisa shot him a sexy smile whining her body gently like a slow motion snake.“Can I repay you first of all with my body before we marry?“What?” Peter was as shocked as hell.He never thought this is what Lisa would say. Taking a closer look, he found that her beauty wa
Mary finally recognized the man. After she found out the truth about that fight, she had been feeling guilty about it. Mary decided to address the misunderstanding she had with him the other day. This was her chance and a rare privilege since he doesn't attends events like this and wouldn't even pick her call. She walked up to him.“Peter!”Mary was about to continue when she stopped in her tracks. She noticed a striking figure next to Peter. The woman was dressed in a skin-tight, fiery red dress that showcased her tiny waist and alluring curves.Lisa!“Mary, nice to meet you. How may I be of help to you?” Peter’s eyes widened when he saw Mary walking toward him, but his gaze turned cold in a moment.“What a coincidence seeing you here.”Mary choked back the speech she had prepared to explain herself and greeted Peter stiffly, especially seeing Lisa. She thought she was with him for only that day.If someone had told her this was her ex's new love interest, she wouldn't have believed
Mary and Roland just had to wait for the day to be over so they could go back home. The tension and uncomfortable feeling they were getting was too much and they could not take it anymore. It was though the ground would open for them to enter, bit it did not. Lisa was treated like royalty everywhere she went to and since she was with Peter now, it commanded the same respect for him. "What is she seeing in him?" Roland asked himself as he drove back home with Mary in the front seat. Mary was not short of thought herself. "What did he do to deserve her acceptance?" She asked herself as she was also confused. She did not know what on earth would make a woman so sophisticated, a hundred times more sophisticated than her to stop to Peter's level. Mary and Roland were both quiet through out the drive to the house. Both hand their minds filled up. Roland had been crushing on Lisa since back in the days. He several times made attempts to impress her, but as was never impressed.
Lisa's mother had died a while ago. Peter came across it over the news when it happened, but hadn't discussed it with her yet. He was so concerned to see her cry like that after mentioning her mother. "My mother was the best woman in the world." She said. "While dad was busy with work and all, she would stay home with my and my brother. We were little at that time. " She told him. "She would do all the sweet things and try to make sure we were okay. She always brought us here. This was her favourite restaurant." She said. The next couple of words followed slow laughter. "She said they always got their apple pies and natural soda right.""When we got home, she would try to replicate the pie with their pies, but she could never." She added. "Her pies were great, no doubt, but there was something about this place pie. Their pie was just unique. I even tried to do mine, but it never beat it." She said. "My mom died in an accident many years ago. It made me very lonely. I had to join
Peter woke up early the next morning. When he got out of the house, he saw that the whole place was busy. Everyone was awake, preparing for the return of Mr. Thompson. He walked through the hall way an met Lisa when he entered the kitchen. Lisa was with the maids, cooking. She saw him come in and become excited. "Good morning Peter. " She greeted him gleefully. "Good morning. " He said to her. He was also glad to see her. She walked up to him. "Why didn't you wake me up early to join in the preparation?" He asked her. "I did not want to disturb you. Besides, we have everything covered here." She replied him. "Does not matter." He replied. "I would still like to help." He said to her. "Well, you can come work here with us in the kitchen." She said to him. Peter let out a laugh. He found it hilarious. There was more manly things to do, but she wanted him to do that one. "Well, it is what I did when I was at home with my ex wife." He said to himself. "It's nothing I can't handl
