Third Person POV

Daniel's eyes scanned the room, his gaze settling on one of his guards who stood at attention by the door. "Guard!" Daniel barked, his voice sharp and commanding.

The guard sprang into action, rushing into the room with a look of alertness on his face. "Yes, sir?" he asked, his eyes locked on Daniel's.

Daniel held out his hand, his fingers snapping impatiently. "Give me your phone," he ordered, his voice firm.

The guard quickly handed over his phone, and Daniel's fingers flew across the keypad as he input the number of his private investigator. The phone rang only twice before the investigator picked up.

"Hello?" a low, gravelly voice said on the other end of the line.

"Good day, sir," The investigator said, his voice smooth and confident. "Why do you call?" the investigator asked, his tone neutral.

Daniel's eyes narrowed, his mind focused on the task at hand. "I have an assignment for you," he said, his voice firm. "I want you to search all the hospitals near the airport for Jessica."

There was a pause on the other end of the line, and for a moment, Daniel wondered if the investigator had hung up on him. But then the man's voice came back on the line, his tone crisp and professional.

"I'm on it, sir," the investigator said. "I'll have my team scour every hospital within a five-mile radius of the airport. We'll find her, sir."

Daniel's eyes gleamed with determination as he ended the call. He would find Jessica, no matter what it took.

Two hours later, the phone rang out loud, shattering the silence in the room. Daniel's eyes snapped to the phone, and he quickly swiped his finger across the screen to answer the call.

"Mathew, did you find anything?" Daniel asked, his voice low and urgent, without even bothering to greet the investigator.

"Yes, sir," Mathew replied, his voice crisp and professional. "She's not far from the airport. She's in the hospital nearest to the airport."

Daniel's eyes narrowed, his mind racing with possibilities. "I think I know the hospital," he said, his voice thoughtful. "What's the name of the hospital?"

"I think it's Riverview Regional Hospital," Mathew replied, his voice confident.

Daniel's face lit up with a calculating smile. "Excellent," he said, his voice dripping with satisfaction. "I know the president of that hospital. But I need to get in touch with him, and I don't have his number on hand. Can you help me with that, Mathew?"

"Sure, sir," Mathew replied. "I'll search for his number and send it to you within a minute."

Daniel ended the call and waited impatiently for Mathew's message. A few minutes later, his phone buzzed with an incoming text. Daniel's eyes scanned the screen, his fingers flying across the keypad as he quickly dialed the number.

The phone rang only once before the receiver picked up, answering with a crisp, "Hello?"

"Hello, this is Daniel Saint speaking," Daniel said, his voice smooth and authoritative.

There was a brief pause before the president replied, his tone warm and familiar. "Oh, Mr. Daniel, it's been a while. How are you?"

Daniel's response was curt, his mind focused on the task at hand. "I'm fine, thank you. I need your help, though. Someone was rushed to your hospital a few hours ago."

The president's tone turned curious. "Who's that? Is she one of your family members?"

Daniel's voice took on a darker tone, his words dripping with menace. "Not at all. She's one of my...guests who managed to escape. I need you to tell me everything you can about her condition and whereabouts."

"I am sorry, Daniel, but I'm afraid I cannot grant your request. As the president of this hospital, I am bound by confidentiality and cannot disclose any patient's information. Moreover, I cannot allow you to take any patients from here without proper authorization and medical clearance."

Daniel's eyes narrowed, his voice taking on a hint of warning as he asked, "Have you forgotten the old times, Mr. President? The favors I've done for you, the influence I wield? I'm not a man to be trifled with." The air was thick with tension as Daniel's words hung in the balance, the president's response eagerly anticipated.

"I'm sorry, I won't be able to assist you with this matter," the president replied firmly. "My patients' well-being is my top priority." With that, he ended the call.

Daniel's face twisted in anger as he hurled the phone across the room. He let out a furious shout, his voice echoing off the walls.

"Guards!" Daniel bellowed, his voice thundering through the room.

Instantly, his guards burst in, their faces set with determination. "Sir?" one of them asked, awaiting instructions.

Daniel's eyes blazed with fury as he issued his command. "I want you to search Riverview Regional Hospital from top to bottom. Find Jessica and bring her back to me - dead or alive, I don't care. Just make sure she's back in my custody within the hour."

Marco sat down beside Jessica's bed, gently taking her hand in his as he willed her to wake up. His eyes remained fixed on her face, searching for any sign of movement.

Just then, his phone rang out loud, breaking the silence in the room. Marco pulled out the phone and checked the caller ID. His heart skipped a beat as he saw that it was the guard in charge of his daughter, Chloe. He quickly swiped to answer the call.

"Hello, Daddy," Chloe's sweet voice chimed in, filling Marco's heart with warmth. "Have you seen Mummy?"

"Yes, baby, I've seen your mom, and we'll be back home soon," Marco said, trying to reassure his daughter. "Just make sure you're fine until we get back, okay? Take care of yourself, sweetie."

"Yes, I will," Chloe replied, her voice filled with innocence. "Thank you very much for saving my mommy. Can you please give her the phone? I'd like to talk to her," she asked, her tone hopeful.

"Your mommy is sleeping right now, sweetie," Marco explained gently. "I'll call you back as soon as she wakes up, okay?"

"Okay, please do," Chloe replied, her voice understanding. "I'll call you back later, Daddy." With that, she ended the call.

Marco's hand hovered over his phone, ready to set it down, when it suddenly erupted into a loud ring. He quickly snatched it back up, his thumb instinctively clicking the answer button. Bringing the phone to his ear, he wondered who could be calling him back so soon.

"Boss, we're unable to track Daniel," Alex's voice came through the line, his tone laced with a hint of frustration.

Marco's eyes widened in incredulity as he listened to Alex's words. His grip on the phone tightened, his knuckles turning white with suppressed anger. "You're calling me to tell me you can't track Daniel?" he repeated, his voice low and menacing, barely containing the fury that threatened to erupt. "Are you out of your mind? Do you have any idea what's at stake here?" He took a deep breath, trying to rein in his temper. "Do everything you can to find him, Alex. Leave no stone unturned. I want Daniel found, and I want him found now."

Marco's frustration boiled over, and he roughly raked his hands through his hair, anger and desperation etched on his face. But in that instant, something caught his eye. Jessica's hand twitched, ever so slightly. Marco's gaze snapped back to her, his eyes locking onto hers with an unblinking stare.

As if responding to his intense gaze, the machines surrounding Jessica sprang to life. The monitors began to beep, and the lines on the screens started to fluctuate, indicating a change in her vital signs. Marco's heart leapt with hope as he watched, transfixed.

Without hesitation, Marco rushed out of the ward, his long strides eating up the distance. He burst into the doctor's office, urgency written across his face. "Come quickly, please!" Marco exclaimed, his voice low and urgent. "She's showing signs of waking up!"

The doctor, caught off guard, swiftly rose from his chair, his expression transforming from calm to concerned. "Right away, Mr. Marco," he said, already moving swiftly towards the door.

The doctor hurried alongside Marco, his white coat fluttering behind him. "What happened?" he asked, his voice professional but laced with curiosity.

Marco's eyes remained fixed on the door to Jessica's ward. "She moved her hand, and the machines started beeping," he replied, his words tumbling out in a rush.

The doctor's expression turned thoughtful. "That's a good sign," he said, as they burst back into Jessica's ward.

Jessica's eyes flickered open, and Marco's heart skipped a beat. He rushed to her side, grasping her hand in his. "Jessica, can you hear me?" he asked, his voice trembling with emotion.

The doctor moved to the other side of the bed, his eyes scanning the monitors. "She's showing signs of regaining consciousness," he murmured, a small smile playing on his lips.

Jessica's gaze drifted towards Marco, and for a moment, their eyes locked.

"Marco?" Jessica's voice was barely above a whisper, her tone laced with confusion and a hint of desperation.

Marco's face lit up with a warm smile as he leaned in closer to her. "Yeah, it's me," he replied, his voice filled with relief and emotion.

Jessica's eyes, cloudy with uncertainty, began to clear as she struggled to piece together her fragmented memories. "When did you come back?" she asked, her brow furrowed in concentration. "What happened to me?" Her gaze darted around the hospital room, taking in the unfamiliar surroundings. "Where's my daughter?" she exclaimed, her voice rising in alarm. "She must be in the house alone."

As Jessica tried to sit up, a wave of dizziness washed over her, forcing her back onto the pillow. She winced, her eyes squeezing shut in frustration. Marco quickly grasped her shoulders, gently holding her in place.

Marco's eyes filled with concern as he gazed at Jessica. "You don't remember what happened to you?" he asked, his voice gentle.

Jessica's head moved slightly, a faint nod acknowledging her lack of memory.

Marco's expression turned somber, and he hesitated before responding. Jessica's eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing as she asked, "What are you doing here? And how did I get here?"

Marco's eyes darted towards the doctor, who was watching the exchange with interest. Marco's gaze locked onto the doctor's, and he nodded subtly. "We need to run some tests on you," the doctor interjected, his voice calm and reassuring. "Just to make sure you're okay."

Jessica was wheeled away for a series of tests, including an x-ray, to assess the extent of her injuries. The doctor returned a while later, his expression somber, and began to explain the results to Marco.

"It appears that Ms. Jessica has suffered a significant loss of memory," the doctor said, his voice measured. "She may not recall the events leading up to her hospitalization, and possibly even some time before that."

Marco's eyes widened in shock as he processed the doctor's words. He felt as though he had been punched in the gut. A memory loss? How could this be?
