Chapter 6. Pleasant Surprise.

"What? You? Sore loser?" Norton taunted, scoffing. Sasha's eyes were filled with shock, and it was so apparent that she wasn't expecting this. It was something of a big shock.

What the hell would the poor boyfriend and loser be doing in an expensive jewelry shop?

"Good to see you again, Norton," Alaric said, calmly. An expression of surprise surfaced right away on Norton's face.

"What the hell! Look at this poor fellow standing on the same ground as me," Norton jested.

Sasha smiled, and held onto Norton's arm, looking at Alaric, who was keeping his cool, while watching as they made a fool of themselves.

"Well, I'm standing on the same ground as you, as I have always been," Alaric fired back, smirking.

"What? You've never been on the same ground as me, you sore loser. Come on wimp. Well, I guess you're so delusional that you can't face the truth that you're nothing but a pathetic fellow," he cursed.

"Do you know that your presence is downgrading uw? How come we're here with you? This is something so horrible, and I wonder how fate would plan such a meeting. Look at him Sasha, hope you remember this bloke," he taunted Alaric, laughing at him.

Sasha laughed along, and it seemed like they were enjoying it all along. For them, he was still the guy of before, a loser.

"Says a guy who can't afford a piece of jewelry and a purse for his so-called special girlfriend," he said, rolling his eyes at Sasha.

A confused look appeared on their faces, as he sounded so confident. He had never been this confident before in his life, and it just made both Norton and Sasha smirk in awe.

"Well, I would have gotten it if I wanted to, and yeah, how would a wimp like you relate? You aren't rich anyways," Norton said, walking up to him.

"You should know that the man standing before you is a different man. I'm not the man you guys used to know," Alaric said, wanting to convince them.

They wouldn't listen, because they were ignorant. It was better if he wasn't going to show off right here because they were only going to get disgraced.

"You're not a rich person, we both know that. You are just a pathetic guy living in flooding poverty," Norton insulted.

"Well, I guess I am not rich, but I am not a poor fellow like you. Come on, if it is so expensive, you shouldn't have come here with your girlfriend," he teased.

"Well, you know how Sasha is. She has already said it, she's expensive, and she needs someone who is as expensive as she is, so she chose me. Don't dare put yourself in the same line as me, because I'm way out of your league," he said.

"How about we put it to the test? I will be the one who would show everyone here that you're the loser," Alaric proposed, hissing.

Sasha's eyes widened. Her ex-boyfriend must really have the balls to face off with Norton. As usual, he was going to lose, because she knew that Norton was a better person.

"Well, I wouldn't want to waste my time over someone like you. You'd definitely lose, but I don't want to humiliate you here," Norton said, turning to leave, when Alaric grabbed his arm in a retort.

"Come on, Norton. Are you scared? Show the pathetic loser that he's a wuss again. It could be I have nothing on me," he said.

"Sorry little man, but you have to let people who want to patronize get their stuff, not stepping in the way," the saleswoman told Alaric.

 He turned to her.

"Pack the stuff. That necklace is mine," he claimed.

Sasha's eyes widened, and Norton's mouth fell open. What the hell was going on?

"What do you mean sir? This necklace costs $650,000."

"Swipe! My card," Alaric commanded.

Sasha tried to hide the shock in her eyes and wanted to make sure that Norton didn't feel inferior.

"Come on. We all know his mind games. Alaric has always pretended to be in our class, and he knows that he never is on our level. It's not just possible," she said.

"Yes, you're right Sasha. Come on, this is becoming too old. You always wanted to mingle with us because you consider yourself a person who could stand on the same ground as us, but we all know that it's never possible. Now you are pretending to be a rich fellow, only then will you end up embarrassed," Norton said, clicking his tongue.

"I know that he couldn't even afford a little gift for me to show you how poor of a person he is. I know he still is that person, and not the person he is claiming to be now," Sasha said, laughing at him.

"I hope that you and your boyfriend are not going to be disgraced today," Alaric mouthed out, trying to keep his cool.

You didn't want to get revenge this way, by publicly humiliating those people who looked down on him, but he wanted to show them what it was like to be in his shoes the time he was.

They should be inferior to him, that was what he wanted.

"What? This poor bloke is going to humiliate us? How much funnier can a joke get?" Sasha jeered.

"I'm sure that it would be a transaction declination anyways. There is no way in the world that he would be able to pay for such expensive items. Don't worry Sasha, I will get it for you. I know it won't work,

"I said to proceed with it," he said, stretching out his hands with his card.

The woman reluctantly took the card, looking at him with shock in her eyes.

He noticed both Sasha and Norton's eyes looking at the card, and the periodic suspense was intense in the shop. They were looking at the process of the transaction, waiting for…

And ding. Transaction successful. A smile crossed Alaric's lips as he turned to look at the disappointed, surprised, and ugly faces of both Nroton and Sasha. She looked so shocked, and Norton himself could not believe it.

Retrieving his card and the package, he winked at the shopkeeper.

"Sorry poor man," he taunted Norton, shaking his head, and hissing at him.

"Wha - what? How is that…?" Norton expressed in shock.

"Well, it seems like you've underrated me, ma'am," he said to the saleswoman whose face was soaked in gloom. Sasha tried to say a word but stuttered upon every attempt.

"Ah yes. I sh- shouldn't have," she stammered. She actually thought Alaric was a poor person, but he just bought the most expensive purse, and a necklace from the store.

Turning around and smiling at them, Alaric found his way to the outside.

"Excuse me," he said, bashing Norton aside with his shoulder as he walked out of the store.

They were never going to see him the same way again.
