Confrontation

Dennis walked out of the house, throwing his blazer over his shoulder, and Yura followed immediately behind him.

When they got outside, Dennis looked around and did not see the vehicle Yura arrived in. Confused, he turned to her

"How did you get here?" He asked, and Yura raised her right hand and pressed the car's remote key and it beeped, unlocking it.

Dennis turned his gaze towards the direction of the luxurious Mercedes Maybach. It had been long since he had the convenience of sitting in a private car, let alone a luxurious one. He couldn't help but smile as he walked towards it.

Meanwhile, Margaret was in the living room watching television when Jack walked in. She had sent him to get back the house contract and then heard his footsteps, shifted her gaze at him and immediately screamed

"Jack! Who did this to you?!", "What happened?!" She shouted, rushing towards him and gently leading him to the couch, looking at his wounds.

Jack winced in pain and let a few seconds pass, almost like he was embarrassed to mention the person.

"Who did this to you?!" Margaret asked in a more serious tone

"Dennis Ma", he exclaimed painfully

"Dennis did", he said, and his mother's eyes widened in shock and disbelief

"Dennis?" "That bastard laid his hands on you?" She asked, unable to believe it.

"Yes, Ma", Jack retorted, and Margaret broke out wailing

"That son of a bitch has a death wish! He dares lay his hands on my boy?!" Margaret raged, and Sasha rushed into the room

"Mom, can you keep it down?! I'm trying to work, and your yelling is disturbing my focus," Sasha bellowed, frowning and then suddenly caught the gaze of her brother

"Oh my God, what happened?" She said, rushing to his side and gently holding him.

"Dennis, he…he attacked my precious boy", Margaret said, crying, but Sasha could not believe it.

"Dennis?" She asked

"Did I stutter?", "Yes, Dennis. That your useless ex-husband did this to your brother," Margaret said coldly, wiping away her tears.

Sasha was shocked by the news; she couldn't believe Dennis could ever do this. But for what reason did her mother have to lie? She already divorced him. She thought.

Still, she had a difficult time believing this was Dennis's doing. Sasha had always considered him a coward who could not even defend or stand up for himself to start with.

How was it possible that he could attack her brother? She pondered peering into the distance, deep in thought, until Jack's voice snapped her out of her trance.

"I caught him, Sasha," he said weakly

"Huh?" Sasha asked sharply, turning her gaze to him

"That bastard betrayed you," Jack said

"What are you talking about?" Sasha asked confused

"He has been cheating on you this entire time. I caught him with a girl in our first house," he added, and Sasha felt greatly unsettled.

"Dennis has been cheating on me?" She murmured in disbelief and could not see the possibility of it. But still, the thought lingered on her mind, and she decided to call him and find out herself.

Dennis's phone rang for a few minutes on his way to Akio's mansion before he picked it up. When he saw the name, he frowned.

It was his ex-wife Sasha, and he didn't particularly want to hear from her, especially not after her brother had shown up and tried to embarrass him.

However, hesistantly, he picked up the phone and answered

"What do you want, Sasha?" He asked coldly with impatience

Sasha was taken aback by his indifferent demeanour towards her. Deep down, she felt unsettled that he spoke to her coldly, far from the man who used to worship the ground she walked on.

"Did you attack Jack?" She asked angrily straight to the point,

"Yes", Dennis replied calmly, and Sasha felt shocked. She could not believe her ears.

"Why did you?" She asked, still finding it difficult to grasp the reality of it

"Because your jock of a brother insulted my friend", Dennis retorted coldly, and Sasha got enraged.

Dennis sounded completely different, almost like he had lost all interest in her, and she could not tell exactly why she was angry, being that she was the one that divorced him, but she felt a tinge of jealousy.

"Your friend?" Sasha asked in an ironic tone.

"Yes, my friend", Dennis replied, confused by the question

"The girl that showed up at our house?" Sasha asked again, emphasizing their shared ownership of the house, hinting at her discomfort.

"Yes? Why are you asking me all these questions?" Dennis asked, growing impatient as the car skidded over a bump, taking a turn into a narrow street, and Sasha snapped

"My brother was right; you are a crazy bastard. How could you disrespect me like that?" She asked, and Dennis was more confused about what she was talking about.

"What are you talking about, Sasha? Please, I don't have the time," He said sharply

"What reason did you have to attack my brother?" Sasha riposted in a cold tone

"Because that bastard deserved it. Not only did he insult my friend, he tried to get back the house contract you gave me!"

"And when I refused to hand it over to him, he attacked me."

Dennis bellowed, and shifted in his seat, trying to compose himself. He did not like getting riled. His anger was one of the things he tried to let go of, and he did not want to cause a bigger scene besides Yura in the car.

"I only did what I did out of self-defence; you cannot blame me for that", Dennis added, speaking calmly into the phone

Sasha's voice softened instantly. She thought Dennis had attacked first but never got the full backstory of what had happened.

When she heard from Dennis that her brother had attacked him first, she felt a tinge of guilt, but not wanting to lose face, she cleared her voice and persisted.

"Okay, my brother attacked you first. But did you have to beat him so badly? Aren't you supposed to be the bigger person? The more rational one? Where is your dignity and respect for me, or did that disappear too, since it seems that you're now bringing anybody to our home and beating up my brother? Despite what he does, he is still my brother."

"Also, you should know that when I gave you that key, that was not what it was for. I did so because despite what you think, I didn't want you to end up homeless, but all you did was turn around and shame me," she said sharply, trying to guilt trip Dennis and put the blame on him.

Dennis heaved exhaustively and gently massaged the space between his forehead. He had so much on his mind he wanted to say to her now that they were finally divorced.

That he would no longer tolerate any inhuman treatment from her or her family and that whatever happened between them from now on, they would only have themselves to blame.

But as he picked up the phone to talk, Yura tapped him gently and said

"We're here, Mr Apollo."
