Chapter 18

Arwin looked confusedly around her; she didn't recognize the current room where she was, but she recognized it as a clinic after watching a little bit around of her and seeing all of the things related to medicine.

She could feel his head throbbing, an intense pain making her uncomfortable. She suddenly remembered how scare she felt last night. Arwin knew she couldn’t hear anything.

But before she has the time to worry about herself, she suddenly saw an old man coming out from a door, and she put her guard up, but when she saw Timothy behind the old man, she relaxed somewhat before saying.

It was a familiar silhouette, Arwin thought. She recognized the young man.

"You saved me? Thank you so much, and sorry for being a burden. I haven't even caught your name, and you already brought me to a clinic." Arwin says as she sat back down on her hospital bed.

"My name is Timothy, and the man next to me is Jonn, even when we mostly call him an old man or a doctor. The person there who is cleaning is Mark; he is harmless, but he doesn't like to talk much. Now, let the doctor examine you as you hit your head quite badly, and you lost your consciousness for a day." Timothy said while the old man was searching for a few things.

Arwin looks around, taking mental notes and remembering everyone’s faces and names. She was guessing their intentions silently.

"For a whole day? Damn, they even took my pistol away from me, and then they dare to throw me so hard that I passed away for a while day.” Arwin says and continued, “I will get my revenge later. Timothy, can I ask, can you do get me my pistol back? It's a good pistol; it seems I will give you the exact information on how it looks like, so can you do this me as a favor, and I would own you one." Even when this pained Arwin to say she had no other choice than try to trust at Timothy, who already saved her life.

She doesn’t necessarily have someone else to trust after all.

"Oh, let me see what I can do. Tell me how it looks like, and I will do my best to get it back as soon as possible.” Timothy looks at the doctor for a short while before continuing, “Besides, it’s no big deal.”

Arwin started to tell as detailed as she could how her pistol looked like, and Timothy was taking mental notes before saying, “Okay, I think I got it now, but I won't promise that I will find the exact one, but I will buy some pistol to you that I would find a suitable.”

“But in return, you have to promise to listen to me then, and my story as there is one specific thing I need from you, but you don't have to accept it just listen before deciding. For now, listen to the doctor and stay here, and I will be back soon." Timothy said, and when he was at the door, he heard Arwin replied before giving it some thought, "Thank you, Timothy, and I promise to listen to you as I really do owe you one now."

When Timothy left, the doctor came towards Arwin and introduced himself.

"As Timothy said, my name is Jonn, but you can also call me an old man or as a doctor. But now I need you to listen to me as you really did hit your head badly, so I want to make sure that you are alright.” The doctor finished, and Arwin just nodded obediently. The doctor first took a lantern to see in which condition Arwin's eyes were.

After his observations, John concluded, "Your eyes seem alright towards the light after resting them a little bit; let's see your sight." The doctor went to the other side of a room, placed a sign with letters and numbers on it, and asked from Arwin.

Arwin thought it was good because she badly needs her eyes.

"Can you read the first row for me?" And Arwin started to read the numbers and letters that were on the sign.

"Okay, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with your vision or head, but do you have a headache or something going on in the background?" The doctor asked, wanting to make sure he hasn't missed anything.

"No, I feel fine little wobbly, and I'm hungry, but otherwise, everything seems fine," Arwin answered, and the doctor came towards and said, “Say immediately if anything hurts."

The doctor started to press Arwin at the stomach and back, but Arwin didn’t feel any pain at all, and when he was done, he said. “No internal organs seem to be broken; let me just see your wound, and then I'm done."

The doctor started to examine the wound on the head and the patches he had made it yesterday, and finally, he said, “You seem to be fine. If anything, you’re lucky the wound wasn't that deep. Still, it needed five ticks to be closed, so you should avoid any sudden movement of a head that the wound won't open again, and then we can remove the ticks after a weak and maybe cut a little bit of your hair as now the ticks leave a visible mark at it.”

The doctor said and shouted at Mark to go and prepare the rest of the porridge for Arwin, “You must regain your strength. Here’s a water and a plain porridge for you. Now, as you are still recovering, you should avoid overeating."

"Thank you for this doctor; how much do I owe you as this couldn't be free, right?" Arwin asked out.

“As Timothy said, you just have to listen to us and let me start the story about a man named Silas, and I will let Timothy tell his part when his back here." The doctor said and started his part of the story to try and get Arwin side with them.

They have to play this right. Arwin doesn’t look naïve either.

On the other hand, Arwin was curious about who this Silas was.
