A good start!

As Michael readied himself to assume his new position as CEO of the company his father had entrusted to him, Friday morning arrived with a mixture of excitement and anxiety.

Somewhere deep down, he sensed that he was dreaming, still trying to make sense of it and convince himself that he had moved out of Elizabeth's house and was now waiting for the divorce documents to be finalised.

He had received insulting texts and calls from her, to which he had not replied.

At one point, it seemed like she was pleading with him, and at another, it seemed like she had returned to the person she was before he left the house.

His shoulders were burdened with responsibility as he dressed impeccably, trying to project confidence even as butterflies fluttered in his stomach.

These emotions had been in his stomach the day he was going to marry Elizabeth; he felt as though everything was against him and that he could never imagine being married to someone from a wealthy family, whose mother would hardly accept him. After all, Elizabeth had seen him in the ditch after her mother had brought him home for work and had fallen in love.

Shaking his head, he acknowledged that those memories were painful for him because he had never been able to find true happiness in his marriage.

Michael could not get rid of the feeling that he was not ready for the work at hand as he headed to the office. He was aware of the enormous pressure to uphold his father's legacy and that he had big shoes to fill.

His dad! That sounded great, but still needed to know why his father left behind his legacy and why, during all these years, he was treated like garbage. Moreover, why did it feel like Mrs. Anderson knew about this incident?

The letter that was left in the garden that evening? He was confident that John would help him double-check everything.

Prior to him, John had made sure everything was set up and comfortable enough for him to fit into.

Michael went straight to John, a seasoned worker and trusted advisor, who had been assigned to help him through the change, as soon as he arrived at the office.

Although John gave him a friendly smile, Michael could tell there was tension beneath the surface. As Michael's father was about to pass away, John had been searching because he had promised to return his son to his inheritance. When he saw his master's son in pain, he was unable to bear it any longer, but it was a good thing that he had managed to get Mike back into the wealthy environment.

Michael shared his concerns with John over a cup of coffee. "It seems like I am getting ahead of myself," he said, nervously stroking his hair. "I am not sure I have what it takes to lead this company, but I want to honour my father's legacy."

As he savoured his coffee and observed his surroundings, anticipating the arrival of fellow employees, he said.

John listened intently, a worried scowl forming on his forehead. "It is normal to feel anxious, particularly in a job this demanding," he told Michael. But keep in mind that the entire team is rooting for you. Our collective goal is to support your success.

"I am confident you will support my success." Since I began to accept this life, I have been with you, but what if I do not succeed? What if I make a mistake and things do not work out as I had hoped? What if I blow this business you have been holding for me up to this point?" he questioned, terrified.

Michael was plagued by impostor syndrome, which persisted even after John offered him words of encouragement. "What if I make a mistake?" he inquired, his voice shaking with uncertainty.

John reassured him by placing a hand on his shoulder. "Mistakes are unavoidable, but how we learn and grow from them defines us as leaders," he declared firmly. "Believe in your instincts and rely on the wisdom of those around you. "You are not alone in this."

Micheal felt a fatherly move when John spoke in that way; he knew he had great support on this journey.

His phone rang while he was speaking, and it was Elizabeth.

"I am giving you one last chance, Micheal; come back here and be respectful to me and my mother, and I just might get Kevin to give you a spot in the big business deal he is about to sign on Monday, and I promise I just might give you the love you always wanted; Kevin is here to do what you could not do for my family, and if you leave, you will have nowhere to go, and you will just remain fruitful as I marry Kevin"

Reading the message made his blood boil because she did not think she was wrong for what she did, but she also wanted to crush him under the feet of another man so he could be a worker at her and Kevin's hands while they laughed at him.

This only increased his confidence, as he wanted to show her who he was.

He asserted himself, glanced at John, and shook his head.

Michael nodded gratefully, his mood improving slightly. He was aware that he had a lot to learn, but he was determined to meet the challenge and prove himself worthy of his father's trust.

For many years!

As the time came for Michael to address the company as its new CEO, he felt a rush of adrenaline coursing through him. With John by his side, he took a deep breath and stepped onto the stage, facing a sea of expectant faces who had left their desks to find out who the new CEO was.

Taking majestic strides and ensuring that he made the easy girls droop with awe and awkwardness as his bowed legs made their final stand on the conference room stage.

Michael cleared his throat and began to speak, his voice steady despite the residual nerves. "Good morning, everyone," he said, sweeping his gaze across the crowd. "I am honoured and humbled to address you today as the new CEO of this company."

As he spoke, Michael felt a wave of determination wash over him. He may have been inexperienced, but he was passionate about the company's mission and determined to lead it to success.

Throughout his speech, John remained by his side, offering subtle words of encouragement and guidance whenever Michael faltered. Together, they navigated the complexities of leadership, forming a partnership based on trust and respect.

When Michael finished his speech, he felt a sense of accomplishment wash over him.

The weight of responsibility lingered, but he knew that with John's help and the entire team's dedication, they would overcome any challenge that came their way.

When Michael stepped off the stage, his employees applauded and cheered him on.

In that moment, he realised he was not alone on this journey; he had a whole company behind him, ready to help him succeed. He felt acceptance, which he had not felt at the Anderson home. Micheal felt he was in the right place, and Ms. Dwindle's face came to mind; perhaps he should call her for that date now that he had made it safely. Just as he had told her he would because she had noticed he had fear in his eyes the day she came to dress him up.

As the day progressed, Michael threw himself into his new role with renewed zeal. With each decision he made and challenge he faced, he gained confidence in his leadership abilities.

Looking back on the previous mornings and days, Michael could not help but be grateful for the chance to lead the company forward. And how well he had adjusted and accepted the entire situation.

With John's guidance and his team's unwavering support, he knew the future was bright and that they could achieve greatness together.

"Now, let us make that call to Ms. Dwindle," he said, smiling as he took his phone from his pocket to make the call.
