Three Days

Sean, who was sound asleep, seemed to have to force his eyes open because his cell phone had always been ringing. Sean felt annoyed with the person who disturbed him so early, even though he wanted to sleep longer because the sooner he woke up, the sooner hunger would come to him.

"Hello, what's wrong?" asked Sean in his hoarse voice. Sean was annoyed that someone was bothering him this early in the morning.

"Can't you be polite with your father? You also don't want to thank your father for getting 100 million $ as your birthday present?" said an adult man from the other side.

"Hey, dad, it's still early. Don't joke. It bothers me that you didn't send me that much money. You just made your only son a hobo out there!" Sean retorted fiercely.

Sean thought that his father was delighted. All this time, his father had only abandoned him, so how could such an asshole become a good father overnight to him?

"Didn't you see your account notification last night? If you haven't seen it, look at it now and you'll believe that your father is not as cruel as you think he is." The grown man on the other side was scolding his son.

He knew he had not been a good father to Sean, but he had done it all for a good reason. He knew Sean hated him, but he didn't care because it was all for Sean's sake.

"Notification? So it's true?" asked Sean incredulously. The sleepiness that had gripped him earlier was gone. With excitement, Sean checked his m-banking account again, and sure enough, Sean still saw the same amount as what he had seen last night.

"Do you believe it now?" said Sean's father in an arrogant tone.

"Okay I believe and thank you even though this money came late so I had to endure hunger last night!" Sean insinuated his father to make his father realize that he had neglected him so that he was struggling to eat.

"Where did your hard-earned money go? Don't tell me that you've been cheated by a girl?" asked Sean's father in a cold tone. Sean thought that his father was now mocking him, even though Sean didn't know that his father was now worried about him.

"Never mind, don't interfere in my business, so what's wrong with you contacting the child that you have been ignoring?"

Sean said scathingly. What Sean said certainly pierced his father's heart.

"I just want to say that now that you're 18 years old, inevitably you have to be the successor of the family-" Before his father could explain, Sean had already cut off the man's words.

"What successor? What family successor is abandoned like a child who has no family? Besides, what's so hard for you to have another child, I'm sure your whores would be happy if they could carry your son, the honorable Sir Thomas!" said Sean with mockery. Sean certainly didn't want to be anyone's successor.

Since being kicked out of his own home, Sean promised in his heart that he would never have anything to do with his parents.

Now Sean was able to support himself even though it was quite simple. Sean was sure that he would be able to live without his family's intervention.

"Watch your language Sean!" raged Thomas. Thomas felt that his son had gone too far this time. The man knew that Sean was just disappointed with him.

However, this time Sean had crossed a line that Sean should not strike as a child.

"Where did I go wrong dad? Isn't that the fact? Now you better let go of mom, how long will you use my mom as a trap so that I always belong to you? Aren't you tired of doing bad things to your own family? Ah, not family but strangers!" retorted Sean fiercely.

Sean could not leave his family because he still had his mother to think about.

During this time, his mother was held captive by the evil family, so he was not too free in his actions. If only his mother weren't held captive, Sean would have left the city by now and taken his mother with him.

"Sean! You realize that you were able to enter college because of me. You also realize that I have been protecting you and your mother!" said Thomas. Who had run out of patience with his son, who always disobeyed him?

"I entered this campus as a scholarship boy. Did you forget, father, that you made me a poor man who was only lucky to enter your famous campus?" Sean said sarcastically.

The college did belong to his father, more precisely to his paternal grandfather. And his family also hid his identity as the grandson of the college owner.

Sometimes Sean also felt a little annoyed. His status as a child was not considered. Even because of that problem, his friends often insulted him because his friends thought of him as a poor man living alone in the city.

"Sean." Thomas paused his words as he needed to take a breath to neutralize his emotions in the face of his wayward son.

"Now whatever you think of me, I'm just saying that as a Seano Jonathan Albern you should know your responsibilities. An Albern cannot escape and if you don't do your duty, then don't blame your mother for continuing to suffer.

"Don't you remember how much your grandmother hated your mother? If you don't take everything into consideration then you will also participate in the pain that your mother has," Thomas said in a stern tone.

Thomas knew that his threat was harsh, but it was the only thing that could bind a stubborn man like Sean.

"So what should I do?" In the end, Sean could only give in. The man loved his mother so much that he couldn't bear to see her hurt just because of him. Sean knew his life choices were very difficult. He could not act as he wanted.

"I give you two choices, I can immediately announce in public that you are the successor to the Albern family at great risk. This risk is of course threatening to the people around you so yes, you should think twice about making this decision. As for the second option, you can act behind the scenes.

Remember you are only acting behind the scenes instead of running away from your responsibilities. You are working behind the scenes, but you can get what you want. You may also be able to avenge all your grudges in silence, so what choice will you make? I hope you choose the second one because I can't jeopardize you either since you must remember that you are the only heir to the Albern family." Thomas said everything.

Thomas hoped that his son was not a fool who would make a careless choice for his own life.

"Give me a week to think," Sean replied calmly. Sean didn't want to answer too quickly. He knew that both had their risks.

"I will give you time but not that long. I will demand your answer in three days so you won't have a week to think."

Thomas wasn't against his son's thinking, but a week was too long.

Moreover, as an Albern, Sean had to think quickly. Trouble wouldn't wait for someone to think before it came, so as an heir, Sean naturally had to be smart and think quickly to deal with all the problems facing him.

"Okay," Sean replied briefly. "There's nothing more to discuss, right? I'm hungry. I need time to buy food." Sean also gave the code for his father to hang up immediately because he already felt the worms in his stomach protesting him, asking to be filled immediately.

"Nothing. I hope you have your answer before three days." Thomas said, but Sean didn't answer as the young man disconnected the call from his father.

"CK," Sean croaked lazily. The man headed straight to his bathroom. He washed his face and changed his clothes so that he wouldn't look too bad when he came out.

"I think I should eat steak," said Sean after thinking about what to eat for breakfast. Sean chose steek because he hadn't eaten it in a long time. The steel price was too high for him, who had to work first to eat.

After deciding what to eat, Sean immediately went to a very luxurious restaurant. Sean used to think that the restaurant was ordinary, but as soon as he got out of the house, Sean realized that the restaurant that he thought was small was a luxury restaurant that ordinary people could not step on as they pleased.

"Welcome. What would you like to order sir? Yes, we don't serve cheap food here. All the ingredients we use are very premium," a waitress approached him.

Sean understood that she was making a sarcastic remark, but he didn't care because he was too hungry to look for another restaurant.

"I'll have the most expensive steak and the best-selling drink here," Sean replied arrogantly without looking at the menu book. Of course, the amount of money he had was huge, so he didn't have to be afraid to pay for any expensive food he had chosen.

"Alright, sir, please wait." Hearing Sean's words, the waitress smiled happily. She didn't expect to get a big tip from an ordinary-looking young man this morning.

"Hey, poor guy, do you know what kind of place you are currently stepping on? Please, the water here alone won't be able to pay for you." Caron, who had just come to the steak restaurant with her boyfriend, immediately approached Sean.

Caron approached Sean, of course, to remind the man that such a poor man did not deserve to be in such a classy place, and Sean had to realize his position before the man was reported to the police for eating all his food, but he could not afford it.
