Chapter 15 - Looking for Clues

"Actually, where did Professor William go? Why did he suddenly disappear without a trace? Was he kidnapped?"  Riko muttered all the way home. This incident was a real blow to the young man. Because he just wanted to ask about the incident when he was lost for a week in the forest.

"Could it be ..."  Riko's eyes widened perfectly. "Professor William was killed by a mythological creature?"

"But is that even possible?"  Riko hesitated a little. "Because Professor William doesn't trust that mythological creature at all. Besides, what's the reason for that creature bothering him?"

Riko growled angrily. "Shit! I have to go find Professor William! I have to make sure of that myself. I won't let anyone else get hurt by that creature."  Riko clenched her fists tightly, and his anger was burning.

 ***

"Why did you come here?"  Jorah sat in a rocking chair while reading a book.

"I need your help."  Riko approached the old man.

"My help?"  Jorah glanced at Riko, then took off his glasses. Riko's tone sounded different. This was the first time he saw Riko looking seriously.

"What's your problem?"  Jorah closed the book and put it on the table.

"One of the people closest to me disappeared."

"So?"  Jorah didn't seem surprised.

Riko is annoyed with Jorah's seemingly normal response. "Why did you just say that?"

"Then what should I do?"

Riko rolled his eyes. "I need your help."

"My help?"  Jorah chuckled.

"Why are you even laughing?"  Riko grunted in annoyance.

"Your request is like a joke to me. How could a young man like you ask a vulnerable grandpa like me for help? Isn't that funny?"

"Even though you're old, you can help me! Moreover, Professor William has disappeared because of mythological creatures! So you have to help him!"

"Are you sure if the perpetrator is that creature?"  Jorah looked at Riko seriously.

Rick was speedless.

"You can't even answer my question, Riko. That means you've just accused someone.."

"But I'm very sure it must be that creature! I beg you to help me! Because I'm sure, Professor William knew about something when I was stuck in the woods! I haven't had a chance to ask him yet."  Riko whined like a child.

"Why don't you ask the police for help? I'm just an old geezer."

"They certainly won't believe me. Especially if I link the mystery of Professor William's disappearance with those mythological creatures, they must put me in jail."

"Sorry, I don't want to help you. So don't force me."  Jorah went into the kitchen and heated water to make coffee.

Riko follows Jorah wherever he goes. "Please help me, Jorah."  He never gave up on getting what he wanted.

Jorah doesn't answer.

"Why are you so weird? Usually, you're so eager to help me prove that creature? Why are you suddenly changing now?"  Riko protested.

"Because you don't have solid proof, Idiot! After all, I don't know that guy named William!"  Jorah is annoyed, and he has run out of patience.

"You suck!"  Riko swore involuntarily, disappointed. "It doesn't matter if you won't help me! I'll find out who did it myself! I don't need your help!"  Riko leaves Jorah's house. He was annoyed and disappointed. I don't know why Jorah has the heart to not want to help him?

Ck! Even though this old geezer always believes in whatever I say. Even if it doesn't make sense." Riko muttered all the way back to his apartment.

 Tap!

 Tap!

 Tap!

Riko paused and looked back, but there was no one. He was sure that he had heard the sound of someone following him.

At that time, the road was tranquil and rather dark.

Who is there? Riko muttered in fear. However, he had no intention of escaping.

He walked over to a trash can on the side of the sidewalk, hoping to catch his stalker. However, there was no one there except for him.

"Actually, who is he?"  Riko looked around worriedly.

 ***

The next day Riko visits Professor William's house. He managed to get the professor's address for sneaking into the lecturer's study.

Many policemen surrounded the house, as well as many witnesses being interrogated. Riko watched their movements from one of the walls. He must not be caught wanting to break into Professor William's house. Especially if Rudolf saw him. Riko will definitely be thrown into prison.

Riko has to wait for the police to disperse.

Time passed so long that the afternoon came. Riko yawned widely without stopping to observe his lecturer's house using binoculars.

Riko's action is quite reckless. If he was caught, he would definitely be accused of kidnapping. However, he didn't care as long as he managed to find a clue about Professor William's whereabouts. Besides wanting to interrogate the man, Riko is very worried about him.

Professor William is one of those people who still think of Riko as a student, not trash like his college friends. Plus, Professor William had helped him in the forest when he got stuck. And now, he will have returned the favor.

When the situation was safe, Riko sneaked into the house like a thief. He was wearing all-black clothes and gloves.

He broke through one of the windows and entered. He was pretty surprised when he was in William's house. The house was very messy like there had been a big commotion. Shards of glass were scattered everywhere, and part of the wall collapsed.

"What happened exactly? Who was the perpetrator who had done it until he could destroy the wall?"

Everything is absurd. How could someone bring down the walls of a house with nothing but a blunt object? Because Riko doesn't see anything nearby that can destroy him.

Rick searched the house. He started from the living room. However, his eyes were glued to one of the upside-down photo frames.

He took the photo and then turned it over to take a look.

"What are you doing here?"

Riko flinched in surprise.
