Chapter 9 - A Mysterious Assailant

All the students who were passing by immediately gathered around to watch Riko and Edward fight. They were shocked by Riko's bravery in fighting the wealthy young man.

Edward clenched his fists tightly. He hated Riko's insolent attitude toward him. Riko not only dared to fight him but also insulted him.

"You must die, Bastard!" Edward punched Riko, but the bespectacled youth swiftly caught his hand and twisted it back.

"Argh! Let me go!" Edward rebelled.

"Okay!" Riko kicked Edward's buttocks so hard that he hit the wall so hard that he was able to destroy the wall.

Edward fainted from the violent impact that crushed his bones.

Hysterical screams filled the college building. All the students who witnessed the incident immediately ran.

Riko was stunned.

'What am I doing?'

"Are you crazy?! You almost killed Edward!" A middle-aged man scolds Riko.

"I just kicked him lightly, so there's no way he'd die. He must've just pretended to faint to amplify my punishment." Riko defended himself.

"Don't dodge! The collapsed wall is solid evidence!"

Riko was speechless.

"Where is my common sense?! Have you never been educated by your parents?!"

Riko clenched his fists tightly when the bald-headed man mentioned the two people he loved so much.

"Stop discussing them. They have nothing to do with this problem," said Riko, trying to hold back his emotions.

"You wrong! Because they are your first teacher in the world! If they can't be good, their children won't either—

BRUK!

Chancellor Alan froze in disbelief when Riko punched his desk into two pieces.

"I told you, never blame them!' Are you deaf, huh?!" Riko glared at Alan angrily.

Riko's chest was burning. He has never been so angry that he destroyed something.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean that." Professor Alan stuttered. He was shaking violently, and his eyes were glassy with fear.

"I will hand you over to the police if you attack Mr. Alan!" School security threatens Riko. He only dared to stand in the doorway.

"Please stop it." Professor William jumped into the middle of the commotion. "What happened?"

Riko tried to quell the raging anger when William arrived. He didn't want Professor to be affected if he dared to make a scene.

"Nothing, Professor," Riko said coldly. "When it's finished, I'll take my leave. Excuse me." The young man hurried away to find a place to calm down.

"What exactly happened? Why are you scared like you've seen a ghost? And, also, this table ..." Professor William interrogated as he approached his colleague, who was shaking violently.

Allan looked at William. "Isn't Riko your notorious loser protégé?" asked Alan to make sure.

 "That's right. Why?"

 "He's like a monster."

 "Monsters?"

 ***

Riko sat stunned on the campus rooftop, thinking about that terrible incident.

"What's wrong with me? Why can't I control my emotions all of a sudden? I'm not even afraid of humans anymore. Is it because of that incident in the forest?"

"Riko. What are you doing there?"

Riko suddenly turned to the owner of the voice. "Professor?"

Professor William smiled kindly, then sat beside Riko. "What's wrong with you? Today you're not like the Riko I know."

Riko lowered sadly. He hesitated to tell the problem to the Professor because the Professor would also think he was crazy.

Riko is still confused. Is this strange experience real or just a hallucination?

"Riko?" The Professor patted Riko's shoulder. "Are you okay?"

Riko took a deep breath before looking at the Professor seriously. "I want to ask you something important. I beg you to answer honestly," he begged.

Professor William's face tightened. "What's that?"

"Was it the Professor who found me when I was lost in the woods that time?" Riko looked at William seriously. He couldn't hold back his curiosity any longer.

Riko has to make sure the memorable experience is not just a dream.

Professor William turned away from Riko and lowered his head. "Yes. So why?" William's tone of voice turned cold.

"Did the Professor find me near the ravine?"

"I forgot," Professor William chuckled.

Riko snorted in disappointment.

"I'm sorry. I am over sixty years old, so please bear with me."

"But that—"

"I have to go. I have to clear my good name, which you destroyed because you destroyed chancellor Alan's desk."

Professor William patted Riko's shoulder before leaving the young man with raging thoughts.

Riko is annoyed and irritated. He wanted to protest but couldn't. After all, Professor William was a lecturer he greatly respected. Because only the older man thought he existed, he never saw Riko as a madman with all his strange opinions.

'However, how can I confirm if the event is actual?' Riko asked himself.

***

William took a deep breath as he sat down at his desk chair. He took off his thick-frame glasses and gently massaged his temples.

'Why is this child challenging to manage? His sense of obsession and ambition is genuinely like his father's. It almost drives me crazy,' William thought, stressed out.

"Are you the one who erased that kid's memory? How presumptuous!" sneered an old man with white hair and a beard.

The stocky man gasped in surprise.

"Who are you?!" William snapped angrily and in shock.

"Don't act stupid. You may not just forget about me after you ruined everything." Jorah shot William a glare.

William immediately took a dagger from his trouser pocket because he felt he was in danger. The blade instantly turned into a double-edged sword.

"Don't tell me you are ….!" William growled angrily.

"You're right," Jorah replied.

William was wide-eyed.

Jorah approached William. The tail of his white robe was dragging along the chain. His blue eyes flashed a glint of hatred.

"I came to warn you that you are a foreigner. So you have no right to meddle in my business. If you disobey my orders, then I will kill you."

Slowly, Joran's form disappeared, leaving only a trail of smoke.

William was stunned with a racing mind.

'Who is he?'
