CHAPTER 43

Jason couldn't believe he had lost Derek; his eye was heavy as the realization hit him.

The cold, sterile air of the hospital room seemed to close in around him, suffocating him with its emptiness. He didn't know what to do. At that moment, his eyes were teary, but tears refused to come down his cheeks.

“That damn nurse, it was her; if she had attended to Derek when we arrived, he would have been saved. But she neglected us, and Derek lost a lot of blood in the process.”

The chief at that moment couldn't believe his ears; his entire body vibrated, though Jason was murmuring to himself, but he could still hear him loud and clear without being told he knew they were in a big mess.
