CHAPTER 85

He stared at the black grains spilling out onto his desk, his anger momentarily replaced with confusion.

His mind started racing as he tried to make sense of it, but there was no logical explanation.

The room fell silent, the tension thick as the detective’s confusion slowly turned back into anger.

“What kind of sick game are you and your friends playing?”

the detective growled, his voice low and dangerous. He looked up at Jason, his eyes narrowed into slits. “You think this is funny? Sending me black sand?”

He then turned to the officer who had delivered the letters, his eyes wide with fear but he managed to hide them.

“You’re sure it was just a boy? Did he say anything else? apart from just this envelope”

The detective's voice was shaky, betraying his fear.

The officer nodded, his own face pale and filled with worry he doesn't understand what is happening.

“Yes, sir. He didn’t say a word. Just handed over the envelope saying it was important and made sure you take a look at it,
