The room fell into a heavy silence as the Mayor's presence sent shockwaves through everyone standing in the interrogation room. upon hearing what the detective just said Jade’s family stood in stunned silence, their faces pale and drawn. They couldn’t believe what was happening. The jail term for fabricating and selling fake paintings had been set at fifty years. Jade’s father at that moment opened his mouth, his voice trembling with shock he knew because the mayor was involved that must be the reason he said so, he demanded an explanation.“Why is the sentence so high youI think I don't know the law” he said, his eyes still wide with disbelief. “This isn’t fair!
