Evelyn arrived home the next morning and the next thing on her to-do list had been to dial up Pedro's phone number. "We need to talk!"

The man spoke lazily and muttered out things Evelyn couldn't make sense of.

"Pedro Alonzo, we need to talk!" She repeated again just in case the man had suddenly gone deaf. "I'll be heading over at your place now." Evelyn announced, then hung up before Pedro could deny.

Minutes later, the woman was pulling over at his doorstep. Pedro's apartment was the only aspect of his life that was still wealthy. And one time he had confessed he might lose that too if he doesn't find a new job soon!

He'd been fired and everywhere he went, the embarrassment he had received from the CEO of that firm had followed him around like a stain, causing every company to reject him.
