CHAPTER THREE HUNDRED & SIXTEEN

The officer took his phone from Cecil and continued staring at her, narrowing his eyes at her with wrinkled brows. Cecil rubbed him the wrong way but he couldn't place it, clearing his throat he asked with raised brows,

“Are you sure you are going to be okay?”

“Yeah, sure officer.”

Cecil responded with a nod and a smile that was enough to sway the suspicious,

“We might be foreigners, but we know the borders like the back of our palms.” She responded, trying to make a joke to alleviate the tension and relieve the officer of his tension.

“Okay, ma’am.”

“Just in case your family can’t reach you, be sure to head to the nearest police station.” He informed,

“It’s just down the next bridge.” pointing down the road,

Cecil nodded before she responded,

“Thanks.” and watched as the officer zoomed off.

She took a few steps backwards from the road and took a deep breath. She had been so tense as she didn’t want to fumble herself in front of the officer so they didn't take her to the station.
