As Quincy stepped into the COO's office, he was ushered to a seat across the expansive desk. The man quickly apologized for the delay, inquiring if he required anything.
"Can I get you some water, and coffee, Mr. Chen?" the COO asked deferentially.
Quincy shook his head, he was very concerned about getting the proposal done with and getting out of there, he had a lot on his plate to handle and Herbal Corps was only one of such issues.
He had a plan that he knew would get the attention of the COO at once. He has to make sure his proposal is foolproof and one that the man would be unable to refuse. Coffee or water wasn't his concern, he wanted to get right down to business.
"No, I'm fine, let's get right to business," he replied instead and laid out the briefcase that he had arrived with on the desk. He pulled it in open carefully and then handed out the plans and visions that he had for the new herbal products line.
"This is quite genius, how did you come up with something so unique!" The man asked, clearly impressed with his proposal. Not only was he going to find a way to make their product unique, but he was also going to make sure that the distribution was swift and wide.
"I will also make sure that any competitors in this line of business think twice before venturing in," he added.
The COO was very interested in how he could do that. After all, they were currently facing competition from other firms. "And how would you achieve that?" He asked.
A smirk tugged at Quincy's lips. "It's quite simple," he replied. "I have a team that will not only buy out market shares, but also merge with any major competitors. The minor ones will have to be put out of business once they see how successful the new product line is. We will also have a secret ingredient and make sure that it isn't open to the competitors just yet, until we are sure that we have the TOMA that we need from the customers." He explained.
The COO couldn't contain his enthusiasm, clapping his hands together. "I'm just amazed at this," he exclaimed, nodding eagerly. "Not only will that bring us a new client base, but it will also eliminate any old competitors we've had in the past. This is a brilliant idea." He beamed.
"We will have to work with the best of doctors and also use the finest ingredients, this way, we create an edge that others can't even think of competing with. We have to make this worthwhile," Quincy added.
Meanwhile, the COO continued to look through the papers before him. It looked like a flawless plan, and he was stunned by how smart and resourceful Quincy actually was. He was also well informed when it had to do with market shares and how to invade the new market through the new product that he was proposing. It looked like a foolproof plan to him.
"But that's not all," Quincy said. The COO was pleasantly surprised, and he asked him what else he had in mind. "I also want to partner with the Herbal Corps," he added.
"Really?" the COO asked, his eyes widening with pleasant surprise. "A partnership deal?
Quincy nodded, his tone firm. "Yes, I'm willing to invest my own family's wealth and get a major stake in the company."
The COO's face split into a broad grin. Not only would Quincy's innovative ideas propel Herbal Corps to new heights, but the man was also offering a substantial financial investment. It was an opportunity the COO simply couldn't pass up.
"This is remarkable," the COO breathed, his voice brimming with excitement. "Not only will your product plan revolutionize the market, but your willingness to partner with us is an absolute boon."
Quincy allowed a small, self-assured smile to grace his lips. He had known his proposal would be enticing, but the COO's enthusiastic response exceeded even his expectations.
"I believe this partnership will be immensely beneficial for both of our companies," Quincy stated. "Herbal Corps will gain a significant competitive edge, while my family's resources will ensure the success of this venture."
The COO eagerly nodded in agreement. "Absolutely, Mr. Chen. I can't wait to get the paperwork started. This is an opportunity we simply cannot afford to miss."
Quincy left Herbal Corp feeling more enthusiastic than when he had first arrived. Not only had he secured a lucrative deal with the COO, but he had also thoroughly humiliated Charles, his uncle, and the saucy receptionist. The proposal document in his briefcase felt heavy, but he knew it was the first crucial step towards setting things right. To his surprise, the COO had been remarkably receptive to his pitch - far easier than Quincy had anticipated. He had expected that he would somehow be skeptical, after all, it wasn't very easy to find someone who wanted to just invest in a strange company and not just bring the Ideas but back it up with the money too. "That was easier than I thought," he admitted to himself as he strode out of the office. The COO was very understanding - too understanding actually. He seemed rather impressed and overly excited to work with him. He wanted to have Quincy invest his money in the company and he just couldn't wait to get his hands on the novel idea
Beverly stood fuming in the living room, Grandmother beside her seething with rage. "I told you, you shouldn’t have brought this thing you call husband here,” the older woman snapped. "He is nothing but trouble."Kohler averted her gaze, folding her hands defiantly. "He isn't the one who caused the problem," she retorted. "He was just here to tell me the good news, and Charles showed up out of nowhere, with his goons to fight him. I suppose you wouldn’t care who started it, because Charles is clearly your favorite." Beverly snickered, "I won't tolerate this anymore! If Charles can't have you as his wife, then the least you can do is respect him, you have no right to embarrass him in the Walter family home," she berated her.Quincy stepped forward, placing himself between his mother-in-law and Kohler. "He arrived here trying to fight me," he argued. "I had to defend myself. This isn't Kohler's fault. If anyone should take the blame, it's Charles."Beverly bristled, her lips curling in
Chapter 11Quincy was in the room, thinking about all he had managed to achieve so far, since he had regained his consciousness. Although, there was a little thorn in his side. A little problem which nagged at him continuously. Quincy knew that Kohler’s family were among the spiders which had spun a web of darkness over his family, making everything tumble into destruction, yet there was Kohler. Even though her family treated her wrong, and did the worst things she didn't deserve, he knew that there was no way she wouldn’t have even a little atom of love for them. Family always had that bond that seemed to stay connected, even though a million things went wrong. And that brought him to his current dilemma; he couldn’t predict what kind of punishment would be perfect for them, without hurting her badly, and he still had that nagging fear that she herself would end up turning towards her family to support them. While lost in the multitude of his thoughts, he didn't notice Kohler stop
Quincy, Kohler, and Eunice arrived at the spa first, to get their faces treated, ready to indulge in a day of relaxation. As they entered, they were greeted with warm smiles by the spa employees."Welcome to Glowyz Spa! We're so glad you're here," said the receptionist, handing them each a warm towel and a refreshing glass of citrus-infused water. "Can I start by getting you each a drink? We have herbal tea, fruit juice, or water with a splash of lemon or cucumber.""I'll have the tea, thank you," Kohler replied, returning the warm smile."Same for me," Quincy added, his eyes already scanning the peaceful surroundings."And I'll have the fruit juice, please," Eunice requested, her eyes fixed on the tempting selection of healthy snacks on the counter."Great choices! Right this way, please," Their therapist escort said, leading them to a serene lounge area. "Our spa menu is available on the tablets in front of you. Take a look and let us know when you're ready to book your treatments."
Quincy felt so devastated when he saw the message. He knew he didn't deserve this, how much more his wife and kid. There was no way he could search for them as well. He got back into his car, and then decided to track the message from where it came from.He drove as fast as he could, while obeying all traffic rules and regulations. And then on getting there, he saw a few other people who had come to track or for any other purpose.“I need you to track this.” He said to them as he dropped a considerable amount of money, which on a normal day, they wouldn’t be given. As they saw the money, they had to attend to him first, without making the others, annoyed.Quincy waited patiently for them to be done with what they had to do, and after waiting for what seemed like ten minutes, they turned back to him, shaking their heads.“Sir, we wish we could do something about this, especially as you had dropped a good amount of money, but unfortunately, they can’t be traced.” The head informed Quinc
Quincy managed to keep his composure when Kohler asked of her daughter, but he didn’t respond for a while as he thought of what to say.Not like he feared them, but he knew because they didn’t like him, they could easily issue a report against him, saying he had done something to his wife. While he would obviously be able to bail himself out, it would only be an unnecessary hassle for him.“She decided to stay back, as she isn’t feeling too well. Gone through stress, lately.”“Oh, really? You’re not the man for her. You keep making her go through stress. By the way, she has to be here.”“Then we can have the discussion when she is better,” Quincy suggested, with a firm look.“When she is better? I need to see her right now. She has not been answering my calls, since last night. I need to know she is okay.” Kohler’s mother insisted, and then her father walked in.“What’s going on?” He asked, looking lost.“Your daughter’s…” she made a sneering look before she continued. “husband, came
Kohler’s mother, Betty, looked at her husband, with guilt, and then fiddled with her fingers, feeling a bit weird with what she did.“I…I just had to do that. We really don’t want him, so I had to do anything to get rid of him, to get him off our turf.” She responded, trying to sound like what she did, was the right thing to do.“Oh, come on. This could get you into trouble. As long as they are still married, legally, things like what you did, is considered illegal.” Her husband, spoke sternly.Quincy was glad that he at least recognized when his wife did things wrong and did not support her blindly.“Now, release her right now.” He ordered her, and she headed upstairs after giving Quincy, a displeased look. While she left, Mr. Daniels, Kohler’s father, cleared his throat and dipped his hands into his pockets.“So, you were acting like she was fine, all along, when even you couldn’t reach her, then?” “I was just waiting for your wife to tell the truth, and when she didn’t, I had no c
Charles who understood what she meant, could not hold back, anymore and decided to go with the flow. She had undressed right in front of him, with a sexy smile. Then he carried her and laid her on the bed, which caused his breath to change, as he could feel his d**k, rise and go hard.He squeezed her breasts and she gasped in pleasure, then he looked into her eyes. He could see she wanted more, and he was ready to give it to her. He planned to give it to her rough.Charles squeezed her breasts harder which made her yelp in both pain and pleasure and kissed her like he was hungry for her lips. Just then, he sucked on her breasts which were succulent enough for him to keep doing that.“Ohhh… Charles...” She called his name, softly. Then he trailed her tummy with his tongue and stopped right at her c**t and teased it with his tongue, a little, which made her open her legs, even wider. He smiled and then continued to suck her breasts, allowing his hard, big d**k to lay on her pussy withou
Chapter 166Kohler slowly stirred awake the next morning to the soft strains of music drifting through the air. Her mind, still foggy with sleep, searched for the familiar warmth of Quincy beside her, but the space in the bed was cold and empty. Confused, she opened her eyes, blinking away the haze of dreams. As her gaze adjusted, something unexpected caught her attention—rose petals, scattered across the bed in delicate patterns of red. Her heart skipped a beat. She sat up, her fingers brushing over the soft petals, a surprised smile forming on her lips. The roses didn’t just cover the bed; they formed a trail on the floor, leading out of the bedroom like a path designed to guide her somewhere.Curiosity piqued, Kohler swung her legs off the bed and stood, her bare feet padding softly across the floor. The music played softly in the background, its romantic melody weaving into the air like a whisper meant just for her. Her heartbeat quickened, and she followed the trail of rose peta
Chapter 165Lauren stiffened in her seat, her eyes narrowing as she recognized Talia. Damien stood immediately, stepping in front of Lauren protectively. “Talia, this isn’t the time,” he said, his voice firm but calm.Talia ignored him, her eyes locked on Lauren. “I should have known you’d go crawling to her the moment I was out of the picture,” she sneered. “But you’re making a mistake, Damien. You’re supposed to be with me!”Damien clenched his jaw, frustration rising. “You need to leave. Now.”Talia took a step closer, her gaze flickering between Damien and Lauren. “You think she’s better than me?” she spat. “You think she’ll stick by you the way I did? She’ll break your heart.”Lauren stood up, her eyes steady and calm. “Talia, this is between Damien and me. I understand that you’re upset, but barging in like this won’t change anything.”Talia’s face twisted in anger. “You think you’re so special? You’re nothing, Lauren. Nothing compared to what Damien and I had.”Damien moved clo
Chapter 164Darius studied Kohler for a moment, his expression hard to read. The tension between them hung in the air like a thick fog, both of them playing a delicate game of manipulation and trust. "I'll be the judge of that," he replied, his voice calm but sharp, like the edge of a blade.Kohler chuckled lightly, masking the slight tremor that threatened to creep into her voice. "Fair enough," she said. "But you know I wouldn't be here if I didn't have what it takes."Darius took a step closer, his gaze narrowing. "We'll see." He glanced over at Quincy, who remained motionless in the backseat, supposedly unconscious. "You’ve done well to bring him here. Now, let’s see if you can handle what comes next."Kohler swallowed hard but nodded, reminding herself to keep calm. Quincy had drilled into her the importance of staying in control. "Of course," she said, standing tall.Darius gestured to one of the men, and he stepped forward with a syringe filled with a clear liquid. "This," Dari
Finally! Darius was ready to meet with Kohler as he had trusted her well enough. He had sent poison to her and told her to induce it in Quincy’s drink, and that’s only when he could trust her.“Is everything set?” Quincy asked Kohler.“Yes. I’m all set.” She responded. “Wow. The color looks just perfect on your body. He is going to fall for this.” Kohler chuckled.“I know, right? When he gets caught, he would never put his loyalty to a bad man.” Quincy said with a smirk. “Alright, it’s time to go,” Quincy said, then they left the house, and Quincy was laid in the backseat of his car.Kohler then got into the driver’s seat and drove off to the location to which she was asked to come over. The ride was a little long, and the only reason he would do that was because the place would be a secluded area. That was the best kind of place for them to carry out operations like that.“Just ensure you do not act tense. You have to be as fluid as possible.” Quincy lectured her, and she nodded. “A
A few days passed, and a day came when Damien’s grandfather called, and said he wanted to see both him and Lauren. “What do you think he might want to say?” Lauren asked him, out of curiosity. “Well, I don’t know. But I’m hoping it’s good news.” Damien said as he drove. At least, for the past few days that had passed, they had learned to tolerate each other again, so Liam didn’t need to be interrupting at every interval. Lauren felt herself tense as she didn’t know what the outcome could be. For days now, she had not seen Quincy, and then he had also made up with her by calling her and explaining the situation to her. She was glad that he at least explained to her, but she just couldn’t help but feel that he still had at least, an atom of love for Kohler, and that hurt her deeply each time she thought about it. Soon, they got to his family house, and on getting there, it was only the grandfather who was present at the dining table. But there was no food served there. “Welcome,
Minutes before Liam answered the call, Damien was pacing around with his phone and leaned close to her ear, listening to the now annoying dial tone.“What the hell!” He said sharply under his breath as he kept on waiting. It was becoming frustrating that Liam hadn't answered his call ever since he left earlier with Lauren. The fact that he hadn't answered his call only made him a little worried because his phone was right in the car with him. He was hoping they hadn’t gotten into an accident or something. But then, even though they didn’t get into an accident, another reason he might not answer his call could be that his phone was on silent, but he wasn’t certain if it was on silent. But at least, he ought to know of their current whereabouts and if she was fine, but curiosity was beginning to eat her out.“If I still can't get through to them after calling and calling, I might have to get to the hotel to find out myself; hopefully Lauren would have checked in safely.” He said to him
“Pfft!” Lauren scoffed and rolled her eyes at the answer he gave her. There was no way on earth that his answer was believable.Does Talia mean nothing to him? Lies. She said in her mind.“Oh, come on. Do we need to introduce lies to this newly found relationship? A friend of mine who looked into the case quickly told me that Talia is a crazy woman.” Lauren uttered, peering into Damien’s eyes as she waited for a response from him regarding that. But suddenly, his calm expression turned into a displeased one. His brows curved downward, and he maintained a cold look.“You know what? I’m not in any way comfortable with you keeping people like that as friends, talk more of someone that close to you since she doesn’t know how to mind her business.”“And how should that be something for me to consider? Remember, our contract doesn’t include you getting to choose my friends.” Lauren spoke also raising her brows. It was quite annoying to her that he had to attack her friend just to play his
Damien didn't see this coming. He never thought that his mother would go to the extent that she didn't want him to get married to anyone but Talia. “Lauren!” Damien called out as he ran after her.She stomped her feet while walking towards the gate, and wasn’t willing to answer him. “Lauren!” He called out to her again as she passed by the gates, and then she stood close to the car and turned abruptly to him.“What is it!” Lauren snapped at him. “You brought me here just so your mother could speak demeaning words to me?” she questioned, feeling so much hurt in her.She hadn't recovered from the one Quincy gave her, so getting one from his mother wasn't what she signed up for.Suddenly, she noticed a lady walking towards them, and while she smiled at Damien, she gave her a sneer. The lady walked up to Damien and placed her hand on his chest as she trailed her finger on it. “Baby, I’m so happy I found you here.” She spoke cutely. Lauren rolled her eyes and was about to walk away wh
Lauren was sobbing so hard in his car after letting out what was disturbing her. She was able to talk to him because they also related like friends at some point before the whole loving situation came in.“It's okay, Lauren. I understand you, and… I think I can also help you.” Damien said to her.As Damien let out those words, she turned to look at him with curiosity.“You can help me? How?” She asked and sniffled.“I'll just help you get your man. We'll find ways to do that, but you must help me in return. More like we should have a bargain.” Damien told her.“Okay, what's that?” “I want you to act like you're my fiancee and we'd like to get married. Just act that way before my mom and grandfather, then we're good to go.” Damien asked of her. That was a little difficult to do because claiming such could end up destroying her marital life one day, and she didn't want to take chances like that.“If you're scared about this, I'm assuming, you are one hundred percent safe,” Damien said,
