Kohler sat on her bed, staring at the sun rising against the sky, tinting it in lovely shades of pink and orange. She had been unable to sleep the whole night.

Even though she wanted to divorce Quincy— she had been unable to erase the thoughts of when they had started as lovers. Back then, she had thought she knew him, and everything he stood for, and she had been ready to love him despite his shortcomings, but all of that changed the moment he woke up.
