Chapter 12 I'm His Woman
What? That guy dared to provoke Mister Cox?

"He has balls of steel, huh? Who does he think he is? Even if sons and daughters of the big four are present, they'll at least show Mister Cox more respect than that."

Tyson laughed out of rage and cracked his knuckles. "Alora, as you can see, I'm not the one starting shit. It seems that someone else is asking for it instead."

Alora kept a calm face and said nothing.

"I was thinking that if you got down on your knees and licked my shoes, I might have to let you off the hook today. Fortunately, you are a moron unaware of the situation's gravity.

"So, I will teach you a valuable lesson today, and the topic will be how fragile the human nose is!"

Tyson's expression turned ferocious in an instant, and then he threw a punch at Ashton from across the table. The roaring strong breeze from the punch blew the fringe on Ashton's forehead. Ashton could see Tyson's fist getting closer to his face.

It was pin-drop silence all around them.

A few seconds passed.

Beads of sweat dripped from Tyson's forehead. He gulped and stared at Ashton intensely.

Ashton held Tyson's fist tightly, their fists less than an inch away from Ashton's nose. However, Tyson's fist could not move any further, even if he put his entire body's strength into it. He felt like metal wires were wrapped around his fist, and he could not move it.

"It's good manners if I reciprocate your favor. In this case, I shall teach you a lesson too. The topic is called, how breakable human bones are."

Ashton then applied more force into his grip, his fingers pressing hard onto Tyson's bones. Tyson let out a shrilling scream, and his legs buckled instantly. His body was twisted into a weird position as if he was half kneeling on the ground, crying and begging for mercy.

"That's enough! Ashton, you've hurt my family, and now you're trying to do the same to my fiance? I think you are just jealous of him and taking this chance to let out your anger on him!"

Ashton looked at her in surprise, then shook his head and loosened his grip. Tyson stumbled and fell to the ground, holding his hand as he cried.

"Why? Was I wrong? Tyson is indeed better than you in every respect. I am with him now. Does it make you feel uncomfortable?" Alora walked over to help Tyson up in her heels. At the same time, she said, "Jealousy is an ugly color on you. Ashton, I especially regret wasting precious years of my life on someone like you."

Alora's words are extremely lethal. At least, that was what she was hoping for to hurt Ashton. Those words would definitely drive him over the wall. After all, he loved Alora so much that he was willing to give her anything she asked for and regarded her as his life partner.

However, soon, Alora was disappointed. She did not see the expression she wanted to see on Ashton's face. There was only calmness mixed with a hint of mockery.

Alora could not take this insult from Ashton. How could he? Who did he think he was to look at Alora with so little fucks to give?

"Alora."

"Huh?" Alora frowned and stared at Ashton.

"You know, I no longer see you as someone I love. Now, you are no more than a joke to me," Ashton said with a faint smile.

"You turned a blind eye when he first provoked me, and when I finally stood up for myself, you see it as an opportunity for petty revenge? Me, jealous of how wonderful of a person he is? Alora, it seems your brain has rotted quite a bit after we've separated."

Alora's whole body trembled in rage.

Ashton said, "But it's fair. Like mother, like daughter, your mother and brother are both the same shitty peas in the same shitty pot. Now why would you be any different?"

"What do you mean?! Ashton, you're not leaving this place if you don't explain yourself to me!" Alora had utterly lost it.

"What do I mean? You should ask your family why I beat them up before you come to me with your petty questions."

Alora was stunned.

She did ask, but her mother's answers were always vague, leading her to forget about it. Instead, they had emotionally manipulated Alora into thinking that it was Ashton's fault, which led to their angry phone call when Alora pinned the blame on Ashton.

Seeing Ashton's mocking expression at the moment, Alora realized that she might be wrong in her judgments.

At the thought of this, Alora quickly pulled out her phone and dialed her mother's number.

On the phone, Florence panicked when Alora's questioning bombarded her, but she still insisted on her statement and refused to admit her mistake. However, when she heard her daughter confront Ashton face to face, she knew she could no longer hide the truth from Alora. It was then that she confessed everything.

Asking for money, asking for a house, turning Ashton's house upside down, and even threatening Ashton.

Alora almost had a heart attack.

Ashton never asked for any compensation from the divorce. How would he have any money to give it to Florence?

Alora knew her mother's character too well. She must have given Ashton hell at that time, and she must have said something mean. It was no wonder that she would get beaten up.

Howard, wrapped in bandages, struggled to sit up from the bed and shouted into the phone, "Alora, you divorced that little bastard. Why are you asking these questions now? Do you expect me to treat an outsider with love and care? I just broke his stupid jade piece, and he beat me up. Tell him to pray that I will be discharged much later. Otherwise, I will hunt him down and dislocate his entire arm! "

Alora froze.

Howard broke a jade piece?

Was it the jade that she returned to Ashton?

How could it be...

Alora was married to Ashton for several years; she knew what that piece of jade meant to Ashton. When they got divorced, Ashton wanted nothing but that jade—it was priceless to him.

Alora finally understood why Ashton would beat her family up. He must have even wanted to kill them, but he held back because of her and the love they once shared.

Alora looked overwhelmed when she hung up the phone. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

Ashton shrugged and said indifferently, "What is there to discuss after our divorce? I do not need to tell you anything that happens to me. On the contrary, please get your facts straight before even coming to me. Or else, you would only make me think that it's not that hard running three companies if someone like you can do it."

Alora felt a sharp pain in her heart.

Alora's guilt was killing her inside after she realized she had done Ashton wrong. Furthermore, Ashton's coldness and distance from her did not help her situation.

"Ashton, who are you talking to? You seem to be enjoying yourself."

Just then, a sweet voice came from somewhere not far from here.

Alora turned her head involuntarily. A beautiful woman in a black gown walked past the crowd and stood beside Ashton not far away. She gripped his arm.

"Ashton, who is she?" Alora became tense. She noticed how close the two were to each other. She could not help but point an angry finger at them.

"Me?" Kendra smiled sweetly, pressing her bosoms onto Ashton's arm. "I am his woman. Do you have a problem with that?"
