Stunned, Claire asked Juliet what she was doing at Scar's house, "I don't think grandmother asked you to clear the debt too," she said curiously.

Juliet laughed and looked down at her slightly muddy shoes, wrinkled her nose and replied, "Of course she didn't ask me to do that, she doesn't hate me like she hates you, you should know that by now," she replied.

Claire was upset at her speech, she knew that grandmother didn't hate her - or so her mother tirelessly tried to convince her. She was only punishing her for marrying Bryan when she had openly refused it, Claire didn't have a choice but to prove herself to her and the entire family. "Grandmother doesn't hate me, she knows I can do this," Claire replied confidently.

"Of course she does," Juliet replied sarcastically, she laughed loudly and then smiled at her, "Let me guess, you think getting the deal with the Gudling family will be easy too?" She asked mockingly.

"It doesn't matter, I'll take it one step at a time, I'm here and I'll see how it goes," Claire replied. Juliet snorted, "Really? What's your plan? Show up at his doorstep and beg? Is that it? Or is your retard husband going to help too?" She mocked and then moved past them to ring the doorbell. "I'm here to get some landed properties from him, you wouldn't know what I'm talking about because you're broke," she said with a cruel smile.

Just then, the door opened and a man asked them what they were looking for at the mafia's compound. "I'm here to speak with the lord, he has some land I'm interested in," Juliet replied.

The man at the door smiled, he liked money just as his master did and so he let them in, thinking that Bryan and Claire were both with her. "They aren't with me, you should ask them what business they have here," she whispered to the goon who quickly stopped Claire and Bryan from following Juliet inside.

"You can't see the master without an invite unless you're talking business," the man sneered. Claire stepped back a bit and held Bryan's hands as her life depended on it, her palms a little sweaty.

In the living room, Juliet was being offered a seat and told them that Scar would be with her soon. She couldn't help but look around the fancy room. It was pretty large and tastefully furnished. Soon, the door to the hallway opened and a man walked out. He was the scariest man that Juliet had ever seen and she couldn't help but lean back on her chair, her eyes wide in terror.

"I heard you want to talk business with me, lady," Scar said, he was not given that name for no reason. Across his face was a thin line that must have faded sigh time. His lips were permanently fashioned into a sneer and he was a sight of kid's nightmares.

Juliet tried to quickly regain composure and smile like she'd seen someone that vicious-looking before. She even managed a flirtatious smile and complimented him, "I must say you look better looking in person, I love your haircut," she said in a soft and melodious voice. Frankly, there was nothing to love about the gangster, his head was shaved bald but for a funny ponytail that sat at the center of his head. His eyes were deep set and dark and his arms and neck were covered in tattoos.

Scar simply grunted at her and sat down. "What can I do for you?" He asked. Juliet reached into her bag and pulled out a little fancy box, "I got you a little something, I was hoping you could help me get that property close to your clubhouse," she said.

Scar took the box, opened it, and found a very expensive Rolex inside. It was the latest but he'd already gotten one like it a few days ago. "How did you know where to find me?" He asked her and she went ahead to explain that Mike was too busy to have the meeting himself so she'd come to try her luck. Scar nodded, "I'm guessing you're Juliet, Mike's girl?" He asked and she nodded eagerly.

"Yes, you guys are close?" She asked, her voice still soft and teasing. Scar looked at her closely and then smirked. "I'll keep the Rolex, but I'm not gonna help you because of it," he said and Juliet began to frown, she'd gotten the watch for a lot of money because she's learned how much Scar loved expensive jewelry. "But, I'll help you because I know Mike, he's an old friend," he said and then handed the watch to the man standing beside him.

At that same time, Bryan and Claire managed to convince the man at the door to let them in. They meet with Scar and Claire gasps at the look of him. "What do you want? Who the fuck are you two?" Scar asked and quickly called out his bodyguard, asking why he wasn't notified of any appointments.

"They're not here on appointment, this is Claire Oscar and she's here to discuss her family's debt," Juliet said with a nasty smile, she could tell that Scar was already getting upset just by hearing the name of her family.

"Who let them in here?" Scar sneered at his bodyguard who shrugged and then moved away to speak with the other goon at the door.

"I told the doorman not to let them in, you shouldn't be meeting with people like this," she said scornfully, only making the gangster even angrier. Scar turned to Bryan and Claire, "You have the nerves to show up here? How dare you come to the lion's den to discuss bullshit?!" He snapped and got on his feet at once.

Claire didn't want any trouble. She was already having second thoughts about coming there in the first place. "If you would just listen to me, we're not here to cause any trou__" she tried to explain but she had barely finished when Scar got impatient and sneered at her, "Shut up, bitch!" He said and shoved her. Bryan was fast enough to reach out to her and catch her before she landed on the ground.

Mark turned to her and gave her a final cold warning, "Get out of here unless you want that pretty little face of yours to be ruined," he snapped. Benjamin rose and turned to the men at the gate, "Quickly, open the gate and let the master through, I will deal with your incompetence later!" He ordered. The men, afraid of his wrath all hurried to open the gate and apologized as Bryan drove in. "I want them all fired, they don't deserve to be employed. They would simply take the words of a lowly lady rather than investigate for themselves, pathetic!" He snapped. Benjamin hurriedly said he will do as he has just instructed and make sure the securities no longer worked for the estate. The guard took the contract from him and looked at it with a frown on his face. Just as Bryan looked to the left, he saw the old man's hand guiding him to a corner table. He spoke fluently now, almost as if nothing had ever been wrong with him. Bryan sat down, looking at him curiously."You're running out of time. Your brother and uncle have

Bryan staggered back a little, struggling to process the jarring change in Jenkins’ voice. The old man he had known was frail, his voice barely rising above a whisper. Yet, the voice on the phone now was strong and assertive, unrecognizable as Jenkins'. He glanced around, half-expecting to see the old man materialize in front of him, but there was nothing—just the lingering sound of his own breathing and the hum of the city around him."Jenkins?" Bryan asked again, his voice edged with uncertainty. He wanted to be sure he wasn’t speaking to someone else, someone who had somehow gotten hold of Jenkins’ phone. His skepticism was palpable, though he hoped it wasn’t the case.“It’s me, Bryan. You said I should call you right? You did give me your card,” the voice on the line said. Bryan could almost hear the confidence emanating from the speaker. It was a tone of authority that starkly contrasted with the frailty he had grown accustomed to.“You sound different,” Bryan said, his laugh com

Chad looked at him oddly and then for a second, recognition flashed in his eyes and he stepped aside. “Mr Bryan," he said with a thin voice. Bryan gave him a slight nod and moved into the living room, taking the plush seat that he was offered. “We weren't expecting such an important guest," Chad said with a smile that was obviously as fake as the Picasso painting on the wall. “I never planned to pay the visit either,” Bryan replied. Bryan quickly tried to regain composure from the information that had just shaken him. If someone else was the supreme warlord, then it meant that the council had convened to terminate his own title and somehow found someone else worthy of such ordination. "Last time I checked, there was no one who could even compete with me. No one was worth being the supreme master, talk more of the supreme warlord. Had they suddenly dropped their standard?" He asked out loud but to no one in particular. He couldn't believe it. He was the best, the greatest, the supreme. No one could match his skills, his strategy, his leadership. He was the one who had been chosen, who had been destined for greatness.Who could even replace him? Who was worthy of such a title, the supreme warlord? Bryan snickered, wondering who could even stand behind him, he was second to none. There was no one he could think of that was even half the man he was. For a second, he felt stupid for even picking the call in the first place. It didn't make any sense to talk about the territory when his mind kept playing back to Uncle William's words and that of Josiah. “Hello, are you there?" Ben's voice came through the speaker, dragging him from his intense thoughts. “Stop!" He snapped suddenly, without any warning. “I've had enough of this bullshit!" He said with a fierce look.
