Chapter 4

Meanwhile, Melvis was still silent while reading the business card in his hand. A few moments passed until Melvis realized that the back of the old man who claimed to be the rest of his family had disappeared.

Melvis chose to return to his flat and found his belongings scattered outside the room, mixed with the puddles in the hallway. Melvsi sighed with an annoyed look. He crouched next to his belongings and realized it must be the owner's doing.

Melvis, who was desperate, tried to force open the door of his room, but the owner came and looked at him with eyes as if he was about to leave.

"Why are you doing this, sir?" asked Melvis. "I promised to pay him in a few days. I haven't claimed my severance pay yet," Melvis explained.

"No. I can't! You keep asking for an extension. There is someone who has paid many times over for this room. You just find another flat that will accept your arrears!" the landlord, Jimmy, scolded.

Jimmy kicked Melvis' belongings away from the door near the room. He grumbled and kept bringing up Melvis' habit of being in arrears. "I've been kind enough to reduce the date of your arrears many times. But you're acting so great by fighting the rich! You're so ignorant. Get out of here and stay out of my business!"

"What's going on, dear?" asked Allen. A landlady and Jimmy's wife. She entered from the corridor and passed a hallway full of Melvis' belongings. "Whose rubbish is this?" she grumbled as she deliberately stepped on Melvis' belongings.

Jimmy, who saw his wife coming, was provoked and insulted Melvis. Allen also scolded Melvis, saying, "Oh so he's the poor tenant who's always asking for a payment waiver, dear? Get rid of this poor guy. I don't want him bothering the other tenants with his garbage." Allen insulted and stepped on Melvis' belongings.

Some clothes were sticking out of Allen's backpack as footholds because of the dirty hallway floor. The woman in her high heels even stepped on Melvis' clothes with disdain.

Melvis, tired of begging, remembered Alex's words. Anger and annoyance instantly made her shout loudly in front of them.

"I don't need this stuff. You can use them to clean your dirty inn." Melvis said. He gritted his teeth and glared at Jimmy.

"No wonder you left that woman. You're more of a loser than a human. How dare you say that to Jimmy." Allen protested and girded his loins.

"You guys were ordered by that bastard!?" Melvis looked at them intently, his eyes so sharp. And Jimmy laughed. He didn't hide that fact.

"You're a poor, trashy man. Realize that Liona left you for a good life. He's better than you with nothing!" Jimmy pointed at Melvis with his index finger. Charles gave him 3000$ to kick Melvis out, and he happily kicked him out.

"You son of a bitch, how could you even side with a bad guy like him!" Melvis was furious. He was disappointed that the people she knew were not on her side.

Jimmy came forward with Allen, both of them not wanting to be outdone and feeling that their actions were right.

"You scum! Get out of here now! You're poor and don't belong here! Just looking at you is bound to bring bad luck!"

Jimmy kicked Melvis' things, he stomped on them repeatedly, and Melvis just stared while clenching his fists. Until Jimmy and Allen left, Melvis was still gripping his fists tightly. His jaw hardened, then he walked out of there, leaving all his belongings behind with an overwhelming feeling of anger.

"You guys are going to regret treating me like this."

Elsewhere, Alex was sitting on an old cushioned chair. He continued to wait beside his cell phone.

Not long after, a ringing sound was heard. Alex saw that it was a number he knew. He smiled and immediately ordered the aide beside him to pick it up.

"Hello grandpa, I'm Melvis Tucker. I need your help, Grandpa."

A voice of confidence came from behind the phone. Alex smiled at those words.

"Tell me where you are now, Melvis. My aide will pick you up," Alex said with a big smile on his face.
